Jack

Gotta love an Usopp fight lol

Ulises Flores(Uliee.)

Day 2 of asking the Geks to add one more episode per drop. Like if you agree boys and girls.

E L

is it just me or theres an audio problem?

xSaorix

Petition to react to Berserk 1997!! (And the golden age movies) Grimdark realism will be a good change of pace

AV

What happened to the sound?

E L

bruuh i die everytime carter imitates mr 2, lmaoo

Toska Water

The sound bad on me as well.

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

Personally, Alabasta doesn't make my top 10 arcs, so I obviously never thought it was peak. It had specific high points for me, namely the island of assassins, Ace, then Crocodile stabbing Luffy through (and 3-4 more points later on). While I did start to get invested in this arc, it really wasn't before the saga after the next one that I seriously soaked it in. For me, peak starts there.

AV

These might just be two of the worst episodes in all of One Piece. It's only up from here.

Cade

what a banger of a tuesday

AV

next mini arc is better than Alabasta.

Nic ☦︎

Yea alabasta has high peaks but when people say its in their top 5 or even top 8 op arcs I dont get it personally, i dont think it even cracks my top 10 with how much the manga and anime has been cooking lately. its a good arc but a bit overrated imo.

Toska Water

Brig's impression of Usopp was pretty good and their reaction to Usopp's 5-tonne hammer was great as well. 😂 Usopp and Chopper's fight is my least favourite in this arc, but your reactions made it entertaining.

DAI

I cannot hear anything Madge

Marcos

The gun eating a fruit is definitely weird. No spoilers but it will make sense later on how it’s possible haha

N P

Yeah these episodes are slow as heck lol, but these next few coming up are a lot better imo. Plus the ending of this arc could probably be classified by you guys as peak, One Piece usually nails the endings of arcs.

DAI

The sound is back at 14:00 Pog

Toska Water

In the manga it's actually a lot bloodier, and they have to change a few moments because of the anime age rating. I remember my brother and I watching the anime waiting for certain things to happen just for the anime to never show it. 😅

Rhettoric

Alabasta still has some gas in it boys, don't count it out. It ranks in the 7-9 range of arcs for me personally (they constantly flip as the final saga continues) and you guys still have quite a bit to see. The ending of this arc is one of my favorites and an episode near the end of this arc is the first episode that had me shed a tear (Drum Island and Arlong Park only made me cry on rewatch) and it's also the first episode that made me see the true vision of the series. One Piece only gets more rewarding as you continue to watch, and trust me, the Alabasta ride still has more peak to come.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

That’s why it’s so funny watching people tryna power scale in OP 😭

Mr. John Kagurabachi

We would be halfway through S******ea if we got 6 eps a week 🙏

1999

Hi Carter

Murasaki

you haven’t finished the arc, let it cook, and some lore incoming. But overall this arc is in my top 15 I wouldn’t say the arc is peak but it has memorable moments. These episodes are the lows and I watched at 1.5x that’s why someone suggested One Pace for episode 113-118.

1999

Oda takes all the insane ideas you had as a kid and just runs with it 🤣 that dog is insane

Rhettoric

Also, most of the fanbase hates the fakeout deaths here as well, but Oda has improved upon this as the series moves on. But yeah, going from series like AOT/Vinland Saga/Death Note to Igaram tanking a f*cking nuke is a bit of whiplash lmfao. This problem isn't really fixed until a few arcs from now and this is where you start to see the reason behind all the fans who say it doesn't get good until (insert further episode here). These people are right in the fact that mortal stakes add a lot to the intensity of the story, but I still think (as we've all seen) that One Piece is pretty damn good from the jump. Essay=ended.

AV

Syrup Village better than these two episodes 🤷‍♂️

E L

Yea alabasta is where I really started taking One Piece more seriously. I was like the world is actually cool and exciting and there’s more to come? Sign me tf up!

studiogek

So sorry guys, i forgot to make a comment regarding the weird audio that happens. Our audio went out for the mic and we didn't notice so it's using the camera audio for a little bit in the beginning. Sorry for the issue!

Ella

is this one pace?

Amare D.

damn Mckay got spoiled

Marcus D

In manga volumes of one piece, Oda actually has a question corner in there where he answers fan questions sent to him, and someone actually asked Oda Canon’s exact question. Here’s the exert😅 : Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF A PERSON EATS A HITO HITO NO MI? (Hito=Human) Oda: I suppose I should say they "BECOME HUMAN". Uh, I guess you could say that means like becoming an adult, or finding your true spirit or something. So basically, people will live more human-like. Well. I guess you could say that. Or not. Basically, not. Goodbye. (runs away).

Ari

Same I'm now 600 episodes in and alabasta isn't in my top 10. The final episodes of this arc tho are fire

Keiji

Ugh. I hate this battle.

Murasaki

What spoil? Time stamp pls?

Murasaki

I doubt this rumor that he wanted to end the series here. He built up the 7 warlords and now only 3 names mentioned. How could it be true that he planned to end here? And if you watch episode 1, Luffy even mentioned the number of crew members he want and that’s the exact number on the ship now.

Rhettoric

@ttchoppa I think you're right, so I deleted that portion from my comment. I looked into that claim further and it seems that the original quote from Oda states that he thought he would end the series in five years (which is around the time when the Alabasta arc was being published). Classic Oda and time perception when it comes to his statements about when the series will end, but I can't complain since I want more of it and we've currently reached the final saga in both the manga/anime.

Marcus D

Its during the intro

kuza

😔

greyxwaren

again the fights especially these ones hinder the pacing of this arc imo and toei does not do it justice it just made it worse. i posted a while ago a list of one pace episodes that cover the fights yall might wanna take a look at it if the fights start feeling a little draining

greyxwaren

posting it again here to make it easier: - 12+13 (115+118) - 14+15 (119+121) - 16+17 (121+124) - 18 (125-126) then you can switch back to normal pacing with episodes 127-128 and the rest of the arc.

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

Vivi all battered with the castle in the background kinda reminds me of Cersei during her walk of shame looking up at the Red Keep 😂

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

It truly sucks for McKay being spoiled. Honestly though, I'm surprised they've never been spoiled until now. I had my first major One Piece spoiler right when I reached episode 97 and I was so mad at it that once I was past Water 7, I actually jumped to the arc the spoiler was on because I couldn;t continue watching without knowing exactly how things happened. Then I resumed watching from where I jumped 😅

Keiji

Isn’t brain point one of his base forms? Why does chopper need the rumble ball for it?

Apex

“Supersonic Smelling” 😂

Marcus D

It’s criminal to watch any theatrical entertainment at faster than normal speed.

kuza

idk if it was the comments that spoiled mckay about that maybe im wrong though

DonDuh103

all good it happens thanks for the drop

Murasaki

these episodes are not theatrical entertainment for me

Marcus D

I don’t think it was these comments that spoiled them. They’ve mentioned they see social media posts about anime, like on TikTok. So it could have been from there. Dragon hasn’t been of focus these last few videos so I doubt someone just drop the spoiler randomly in the Patreon comments.

DonDuh103

theses episodes not the best you guys shouldn't feel scared to express some dislike to some of the episodes it has some slow/down sides. Certain fights slow the show down like a lot of the shows first fights Buggy, Kuro, Krieg, and Arlong almost everything but the fights in the arc were great then just takes too long to get threw the weird pace fights.

Marcus D

Objectively they are. Fictional tv/cinema that is an art form specifically made with the intent to be viewed a certain way. It’s not about what you think it is.

Alan

Oh noooo McKay got spoiled that sucks

Alan

Reading that back that seems sarcastic but it’s not it’s just 4am I just woke up

Marcus D

There’s more

DonDuh103

Yo what Brig doin with his hands there at the end? LUL

Marcus D

Yeah it’s my least favourite of the big arc of a saga but it’s still good. Alabasta isn’t in my top 10 either.

Marcus D

The next ‘mini’ arc is my 5th favourite arc lol, yooo so goated.

Yuion

The fact a gun "ate" a fruit spawned a plethora of theories xD

Dreamknight942

I think the rumble ball allows him to do the analysis ability, though I wouldn’t worry to much about scope tbh

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

Which one?? I’ve seen up til like 950-ish. Just name the character, ill google the rest to not create any possible spoily things

Qhoa

W

Isaiah

SPOILER NAME AFTER THIS >>>>> Spandams weapon

Dasha

the worst couple of episodes I've seen so far ;(

Pace

It’s the pacing guys- alabasta is only 10% into the one piece story. There’s probably no other show that would be able to handle such an adaption of shit pacing and censorship other than one piece because the story is what carries this series- it just gets better and better with insane world building that you notice as you go through it. And when plot points weave together and re-contextualise it all it’s so satisfying the and lore gets crazier, there’s so much intention in this story. Oda didn’t rush anything this is just the beginning

Mahti

was expecting way more hate on miss merry christmas and mr 4

Marcos

Their is also 2 more. Spoilers!!!!!!!!!! Smiley from punkhazard is a gas and than the kettle pot from wano that is a tanuki

Mahti

agreed, I have Arlong park above Alabasta. Alabasta is good mainly for the lore drops and Croc. It's good but peak is an exaggeration imo

greyxwaren

go just you wait it’s coming lol

greyxwaren

no, base form only allows 3 transformation (normal, big human, deer) and rumble ball grants 3 more (guard point, agile form and brain point)

Mahti

Explosions in general don't do jack shit in One Piece unless you're an npc

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

… Ooooh right the elephant 😂 had to google that one, i totally forgot about that bitch Spandam

Maj

Usopp is a fkn comedian man, shoutout to his VA cause he has crazy range (Bi-weekly reminder that the rewatch is still in fact cooking even if the eps were a lil slow)

Maj

Btw, think of explosions in One Piece like shurikens in Naruto—both totally useless 🤣🤣 Honestly, I'm taking the machete Jinwoo used against that goblin when he was an E-rank bum before I mess with a One Piece bomb or a Naruto shuriken 🚮

Aqu

Heya I know u guys normally skip the openings anyway, but just to be safe – avoid accidentally looking at the screen during the opening starting in ep 116 (contains spoiler)!

Hector

Tbh when you watching the openings.you don't know what you looking for so you don't know it's a spoiler

Hector

Water

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

@marcos Wait but.. Smiley isnt a living weapon right? Cuz it couldnt have eaten the gas gas fruit, because that one belongs to the shirororo guy (forgot his name). I thought it was just the name of that gas/the weapon itself, but not that its “alive” or w a fruit power.

Vinny Deluca

Explosions are 80% for show in OP the size/flashiness doesnt always equate to dmg being done. liek some othe rguy said, they're like shurikens in Naruto, people use em all the time but they dont really do much lol

BeautyWillSaveTheWorld

Karoo caried these boring episodes 💪 don't ever disrespect him again

Marcos

Soooo Smiley is a gas that ate a salamander zoan model axolotyl

cruiser

Cant wait for you guys to catch up to egghead and see all the amazing fights

Hector

Usopp it's half the comedy 😂😂

Hector

Toei did not do this arcs justice in the 00s fs

Niffol

yeah the gun eating a fruit was one hurdle for me when i was reading the manga. there is no logical explaination. anyone who says inanimate objects eating a fruit is retarded.

Zipzzty

All of them goated

Zipzzty

Tuesdays and thursdays>>>

Zipzzty

Yeah Hopefully Wit Remakes stops all the censoring looks like they will

Zipzzty

Agenda piece funny asf 😭

Zipzzty

Oda too creative fr

Zipzzty

Peak Battle Next Week

Adin

This is the way

Marcos

If your caught up the to the current arc it’s going to make sense how it’s done

kei hishaku

mr 4 looks like if number 4 from code name kids next door let himself go

JustAway

Cannon after literally every explosion in One Piece: "No way they are still alive" followed by shocked Pikachu face

Niko

one piece is one of my fav's of all time, im fully caught up and would rewatch it all again multiple times if i had the free time, but 1000% my biggest criticism is that oda will milk an emotional scene by making you think someone died, and then they are magically fine (karoo in this episode). but there are some good deaths in the show. just gotta wait to find em

Luffers

@Hector this one is not like that. They will know immediately if they see it. My first time I knew right away. The other OPs I'd agree, fine to watch. This one is big

Mahti

Brig said he was spoiled on comments on miss all sunday intentionally letting Igaram live, Mckay situation has nothing to do with that doubt it was from comments

Luffers

With the whole "Nobody dies in One Piece" thing (not true but I get it) it would be funny if after the battle, the casualty report were like: 0 killed, 500k wounded.

DontFailArtSchoolEren

One Piece is for a younger audience clearly conveyed in the free spirit, ever expanding, eccentric, colorful and mysterious aesthetics and subplots, so deaths were always considered an afterthought like the action. Too many deaths in One Piece would move the timeslot to a later broadcast time since it would potentially harm the young viewers growth within modern society which is why its such an enjoyable watch as a young adult or older, to feel like a kid again, like Luffy.

Luffers

Next two make up for it, you'll see ;)

Tyler Smith

Wtf was that “One piece 115-116” notification??? Don’t think I didn’t see that LMAO

Picasso

Lmfao bro I know I’m not trippin, I got mad excited

yuh jav

woah fellas you cant sneak that 115-116 in there

Spoons

Fr I saw that too

DonDuh103

Y’all accidentally upload 115-116? Got confused and excited!

N P

It'd be legendary if you guys actually dropped 115-116 tonight so we could get 118 tomorrow, but it probably won't happen lol

Ryker

cmon fellas dont be shy drop the 115-116

E L

Is that an accidental drop??

TrueCrisp

DONT TEASE US LIKE THAT

Rhettoric

Idk which fakeout was was better tbh, Igaram’s “death” or the false hope I just felt getting that 115-116 drop notification

More Naruto Reactions

I got scared it said that membership is not available???? I need Naruto

ahmad

BUMP @jack

Mitch

Fake out deaths are BY FARRRR my biggest complaint with one piece. I can put up with trash pacing I can put up with weird goofy character designs but the fake deaths actively hurt the show imo.

Chayma

YOU CAN’T TEASE ME LIKE THAT

Matt Haloostock

Glad you guys did not hate these episodes. This fight is one of my least favorite in one piece. I always skip this fight if I'm re-watching episodes.

kaan

“Lying is not a fighting skill” Usopp: Hold my 5 ton hammer

AV

Saw the notification while at work and got excited. Got home and was about to watch but the episodes are not there... Bigger fake out than any fake death in OP.

Vega

Idk why you'd expect realism in a cartoon. One piece characters are extremely physically durable.

Dasha

yeah next 2 are better :)) nice pfp btw!

Dylan Roy

the gun eating a fruit should not be reduced to a gag. its low key really important information for learning more about devil fruits

Nashi

One Piece cracks me up dude

Marcus D

We know the boys have seen stuff about one piece on social media and such over time, before they even started the series. Brig knew who dragon was before they even got to Logue town.

Picasso

Literally skip all these wackamole episodes lol

Nick K

Am I taking crazy pills? Where is the anime intro rankings part 2?... it just never happened

Marcus D

Can’t wait for them to reach thriller bark lol

Marcus D

I don’t think they did reduce it to only a gag. It’s goofy af but clearly reveals a mechanic of the world.

Apex

Bro same, I saw them post before I went to bed, so I got up early to watch and RIP

Shaun V

I agree for the start of one piece, but not just that it was more so for kids but moreso that Oda didn't want to drive these darker plots or deaths when he was writing the earliest parts. I also just think he was finding his footing as a writer as well, where the start shows so much potential such as the backstories and heartfelt moments, but definitely has a lot of problems or undesirable traits that get ironed out as the series goes on. But I definitely don't think One Piece in general is a for a younger audience, especially once you get past the start. In fact I think One Piece is a show that's more likely to be people's favourites as you get older and aren't a kid. It's our experiences that shape our humanity, and Oda's ability to make us feel so much relates to the viewer having experienced a lot in life themselves. I wholeheartedly agree with you saying it's an enjoyable watch as an adult or kid because it makes you nostalgic of that freedom of creativity and adventure through Luffys character. I know you're not really disagreeing with this, I didn't write this as a rebuttal or some shit, I just thought what you said was interesting and wanted to say my piece as well.

Zipzzty

😭😭 fr forgot about that

ace

Please give us more than 4 episodes a week 🙏

Hector

I slept on that last night not joking

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

15:50 Carter had a justified crash out. Cannon was way too annoying.

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

Did the 115-116 upload get deleted?? I got the email but i cant see a notification or an upload in the app

BeautyWillSaveTheWorld

They will post it today. They accidentally posted it yesterday even though it wasn't a OP day

Dylan Roy

I just meant jack referring to the dog as just a gag in the discussion at the end.

Benjamin Knock

"is tard short for bastard?" The shock of someone being called a retard stopped everyone from realizing that its because hes legitimately just slow. Retard has more than 1 meaning and this use of it was perfect

S

You're so edgy

wanira 11

Absolutely, Usopps's VA makes him so much funnier, it's truly his delivery that makes it

jrnoodles

Thank you! I hate this fight, so many characters I don't like together is painful. Except Chopper, I love you buddy, you're the GOAT.

E L

One piece day! 🕺

Ser Dunk the Tall

Saying Alabasta is less peak than Drum island right after we see Luffy-Crocodile p1 and all the build up between Vivi-Luffy makes me angry 😤 I feel like these guys contradict themselves constantly (...still love em tho ❤️)
