Amare D.

E L

It’s okay!

Zipzzty

It’s good goats

Zipzzty

The Episode On Thursday is going to be PEAK

Elijah Slocombe

Indeed you just witnessed the greatest fight in all of one piece, only down hill from here

eiden

I am dying for mob

slimdoodles

as im rewatching this again i gotta say i dont remember the nami vs miss doublefinger fight being this bad of a watch, i get its supposed to be your typical one piece goofiness but it kinda just does too much and really does take its time for it to end. but honestly it more than makes up for it with the zoro vs mr 1 fight immediately after the nami fight. its definitely the worst of the other fights even though i didnt mind the usopp and chopper fight and sanji fight. but yeah rewatching the nami fight was kinda brutal

Zipzzty

ONE PIECE LORE GETTING DEEPER

Zipzzty

MORE LORE LETS GO

Ella

at this point in the story, if it's not luffy&zoro (sometimes sanji), watching the other members of the crew fight is pretty much a bum fest

Mitch

Absolutely loved the clima takt, usopp is actually a genuis level engineer/inventor to create something as advanced as that. I like how it subtly adds to the usefulness of his character. Only thing is it makes you wonder why he didn’t creat some advanced weapon for himself.

Zipzzty

Poneglyph and a Ancient Weapon? 🤔

Zipzzty

Never Compare Tanjiro and Zoro again there are levels

Mitch

Kind of an insane take…

Storm

This was definitely a fight of all time Lmao

E L

Same here

Amare D.

Yea I agree rewatching Nami fight was brutal and could've been better, but I don't agree with the Usopp creating it was bad it adds more to his character, and you see this though small invention he made so far like smoke bullets the fake 4-ton hammer explosive bullets and other small stuff he created.

Storm

Facts Tanjiro No Diffs That Knife Victim

Ella

hey they have their roles. being entertaining fighters isn't one of them lmao

ahmad

Tough watch ngl. Next few eps will redeem it

Zipzzty

5/10 ragebait

Keiji

Omg. Here it is. The Nami fight I’ve been waiting for. This is where it all begins.

Pace

Pacing, - it was a so quick in the manga lmao.

Pace

Bwahaahaha I reckon yall should put them on One pace if you want them to make it to water 7 before dropping this terrible anime adaptation 😂

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

Never thought id be so entertained by seeing people despise this Nami fight 😂 . I wasn’t looking forward to this reaction only because I remember how much of a drag hers and Usopp’s fight had been for me, but then I look at you guys’ faces and just lmao 😂 I was YEARNING for Luffy by this point. Love the Zoro hype though, and any Crocodile scene is definitely cooking.

forthwanderer

Stuff like this is exactly why I think the manga is just an overall smoother experience, the way this fight is paced in the manga is more touch and go instead of these long drawn out scenes where not a lot happens. it really makes a bad moment feel so much worse

Vega

Nami's fight is deeper than just her ability as a fighter which is pretty much zero. There is a depth in her resolve for Vivi, the crew and even herself, realizing that she has to keep pace with the others in some way. Feels like a nitpick to be annoyed with a fight that isnt about how it looks.

Keiji

Nami’s fighting ability isn’t zero. She fights with a staff. I think she’s able to fight regular pirates.

Vega

At this point her ability was zero. This is her first one on one fight, from what I recall. Her shuffles with fodder or whatever is nothing compared to this. Ms. Double finger is the second strongest woman in Baroque works

Aokiji Piece🧊

There are at least three arcs where I really suggest that they watch One Pace, and those are Skypeia, Thriller Bark, and Dressrosa. The pacing in those arcs is very bad, and I think they would enjoy these arcs more if they do that, hopefully.

Toska Water

Don't worry. Nami's next one-on-one battle is a lot better. This fight was technically an introduction to how Nami's battle dynamic works. When I first read this fight in the manga, I was excited for Nami since she had figured out how her strengths and skills benefitted her in combat and could apply them to Usopp's invention. But I understand your frustration

Ari

I agree! Please use one pace for these 3!

Nope

I think thriller bark is fine ngl. And dressrosa is good enough for the pacing to not be so bad

Aokiji Piece🧊

I respect your opinion Nope, but I definitely disagree. Just look at how the pacing is right now and how they dragged this fight out with Nami so much. I’m almost certain that they would enjoy those three arcs more with One Pace because it’s not going to get better with the pacing. This is not close to the worst pacing of the show. And the worst pacing is in these three arcs, so that’s why I think they would enjoy them much more watching One Pace.

Ari

I actually liked Nami's fight. I was glad she felt she to do something to help the team, asked Usopp and tried her best in this fight. If I put myself in her and Usopp's shoes both aren't actual fighters or have powers like some others, just mere humans so their fears are justifiable and understandable. So when I watched this I felt excited cause Nami will now join the fighter members and develop into a more strong character

S

Nes

Wdym

SSana

I appreciate how honest your reaction was. I adore Nami, but even on my most recent rewatch I skipped this fight. I will say though, the climatact is a pretty cool weapon for her.

ahmad

Rejecting One Pace for dressrosa is crazy. Did we watch the same anime? One Pace saves 1331 minutes for Dressrosa.

ahmad

Honestly can't tell if the one pace haters are just clueless or blinded by nostalgia and nitpick at the smallest scenes, without thinking of the overall pacing of arcs.

Ari

so for the rest of Alabasta you can keep watching it as you are now, but for the next Skypiea I'd strongly recommend using One Pace

Marcus D

Hey jack did you use one pace for this batch? I feel like the moment when nami configured her takt to blow away doublefinger, was skipped.

Hansen

haha don’t worry y’all haven’t even reached the depths of mid yet 🙃 worse fights to come 😝

Marcus D

One pace should be used for dressrosa, whole cake and the reverie. Skypiea is fine it’s just the way it was written, Toei didn’t really slow it down. Just be careful when you do use one pace for later arcs though. They skip awesome anime original fighting scenes/animation. One pace even skipped a wholesome moment in Arlong park where the ghost of bellemere pushed nami as blessing for her journey. These sorts of scenes although not in the manga, should not be skipped, they’re really good and just expanded on the canon story!

Marcus D

Yes the nami fight is a bit slow, lots of early one piece fights are but a lot of the comments here are over exaggerations. Just to let you know plenty of people enjoy/ don’t mind these fights.

Pace

Btw if they watch on pace - they will get there quicker and they would be watching more per session since one pace episodes are sometimes over 20 mins 🤫

kaan

I actually like these last 4 episodes but reactions were hilarious. Cannons intense hate for clima takt was so unexpected but funny at the same time lol 😂

saDbo

Honestly Nami's fight is funny on a rewatch. Plus it's cool to see her gain a power up. Can't wait for Zoro's fight tho 🔥 it's so good

ahmad

Those are amongst some of the most egregious arcs in terms of pacing for sure. I personally believe that there are way more arcs that should be watched with One Pace, even at the cost of "valuable" non-canon scenes being removed. I'll just wait for them to catch up to those arcs and see what they think, although I'm curious if they already know the differences between Toei and Pace (e.g Toei Arabasta is 840 minutes and Pace Arabasta is 555 minutes, 285 minutes in total saved).

ahmad

Facts

cozo

i've watched all of one piece and this is my favorite fight

Marcus D

Never mind I think the storyboards and editing for these 2 episodes were just weird.

DonDuh103

it was a tough 2 episodes i agree i think thats the low point in the arc it heats back up but i like the honest reactions.

kuza

tanjiro gets smoked by zoro even by zoro at this timeframe, the better animation in demon slayer is u fooling u 🧐

Jonesy

next episode peaaaak

Marcus D

These fights the last few episodes have been slow and it can be a bit dull at times but I don’t think they’re as bad as you guys seem to think they are(different opinions are fine). Inner and outer character dialogue was pretty enjoyable for me, as well as the silly comedy moments. In totality I enjoyed the sanji and usopp/chopper fights, the nami one isn’t bad, though one of my least favourites in the series, so I am a bit surprised by the level of complaints, these episodes are decent to me.

Marcus D

Also when I say the nami fight isn’t that bad, I mean the content we got in it. In terms of volume of combat in a fight this may be the lowest in the entire series lol. I can understand if you’re disappointed by the combat aspects but I think it’s harsh if you think the overall content was bad.

Marcus D

Have you watch skypiea through one pace? I’m cautious in recommending people to use one when watching OP for the first time as it can ruin good moments with all of the cutting and editing.

Marcus D

@ Marine the issue for them was the content of the fight itself, not the pacing. Speeding it up and cutting wouldn’t have changed what happened in the fight. One piece isn’t needed until dressorosa honestly, when they started panning on stills of faces for 5 seconds each.

Ari

I didn't, that's why I recommend it cause the first fights were dragged too much. The rest of the arc I think it was fire but also dragged a bit

Ari

yeah I think we all have different preferences because I liked Nami's fight the best (along with Zoro's). I was excited to see how she'll develop in next fights. I also laughed a lot even though I get that it can feel frustrating for some when she is learning how to use it at the start

Marcus D

I don’t think it’s good to recommend a fan edited version if you haven’t check it yourself tbh.

Marcus D

I understand wanting to increase the pace so we can get through content faster and the chance you might hear the boys complain less but the boys should consume and judge the series based on how the creator intended it to be seen. The creator as in Toei, as they are watching the anime One piece by Toei Animation. Sure Toei could do it better at times but if you want manga pacing and content only(that’s what one pace aims to do) then they should read the manga instead.

Aokiji Piece🧊

@Marcus I respectfully disagree. There’s no way you can sit here and say that if they watched this fight in One Pace it wouldn’t have been a much more enjoyable experience. One Pace is also closer and more accurate to the manga. Why do you think they’re gonna remake the whole show because it should not be even close to a 1000 episodes. And what do you mean by the creator Toei? You would rather want to watch it as the creator of the whole story would have Oda, not Toei.

Luffers

They have a meme level understanding of OP. They've heard it's drawn out, fights last a long time, people don't die, etc. So they are hyper focusing on these things. To the point they want the Straw Hats to execute all their enemies, they sigh every time the crew splits up because they think it's artificially drawing it out.

EightNights

holy shit man u guys are so annoying ofcourse they have a meme understanding of one piece, they dont know what we know and they look at these "fights", compare them to jjk/hxh, and say they are trash which let's be real here.. they are. if it's not luffy or zoro or a big emotional moment these early one piece fights are drawn out and boring. I say this while having one piece in my top 5 anyway

Awkwardly Being

The fight scenes might seem a bit dry but that's because they're in a desert. Jk jk it's because this arc aired in 2001-2002

Dasha

I dropped one piece for 6 months after arabasta and now I remember why 😁 I’m worried about how you are going to react to the next arc, but after that it’s for sure gonna be pure PEAK

Dasha

I love the next arc btw and it’s probably the most important one in the storyline. I could suggest watching very carefully, but you’ll probably catch all the foreshadowing only on a rewatch

Daniella

I’m currently watching one piece for the first time too (started with the geks but watched ahead -on Thriller Bark arc now- cause i’m impatient lol) and it is hard when you’re watching 2 episodes week to week rather than just binge watching it cause you can feel how slow certain episodes are (maybe they watched more episodes after this idk). But I do appreciate Nami learning how to defend herself rather than being a liability, and i actually found these episodes more funny than frustrating but i get the comedy isn’t for everyone, thanks for the reaction :)

Marcus D

The anime is an adaptation by Toei animation of Oda’s manga. It’s not going to be the exact same as it’s adapting the manga material, hence ‘adaption’. Also the boys should watch the series where 90% of the opinions they’ve heard, anime clips they’ve seen and recommendations/requests/votes to watch, have come from,, which is people who watched the anime in it’s original unaltered form. One piece was very popular and loved before one pace began, they should barely use it, if ever. The only time I have ever really recommended someone to watch one piece is for the reverie arc because there’s no extra anime canon and half of every episode is recap so it’s good for that. But no other arc is even close to being like that.

Marcus D

I wouldn’t say meme level. They do try to be as unbiased as possible but I do agree they are influenced by community opinions and their own assumptions pre starting the series. Theyre very critical on certain logic and realism in a show that’s one of the most fantastical in existence but don’t criticise the ridiculousness in other series that are less goofy and are in a more realistic setting like say sakamoto days.

Aokiji Piece🧊

Well, listen, I’m not saying the original One Piece anime isn’t good, but you can’t just say that you should go and read the manga instead if they want the most accurate thing to the source material. Some people want to watch instead of reading it and still want the most accurate way, and that’s why One Pace exists in the first place. And of course, it’s not gonna be the same thing as the manga 100%, but it’s better to be 95% accurate than 80%, for example. It’s still drawn-out pacing that makes the arcs worse. If they watch One Pace in those arcs that have the worst pacing issues, then they will like it more. I guess we just agree to disagree. I mean, that’s the way I see it. We will see if they watch those arcs I recommended with One Pace or not. If they choose to never use One Pace again, then I’m still gonna be here anyways it’s just my preference.

Maj

This fight was buns I'm not gonna lie, it's still a fun lil vibe on the rewatch. Usopp fight was also buns but him and chopper are comedy gold so I don't mind, but yeah this nami one wasn't the best 😭😭

Qhoa

Chrisiyyi

and repairing the ship, he always was/has been a handyman

sb123

its not that deep dude

jrnoodles

Thanks Geks! I find Nami's fight painful too.

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

At least Carter can laugh about it but Brig was literally done with the fight😂

Chrisiyyi

ye, this fight is not about a epic fight, it was about the character trying to get stronger, i get that the fight is boring compared to alot of fights of other anime and i can see that in that way its bad and ofcourse couldve been better, specially the pacing isnt helping. I look past it personally and just take it as how nami and ussopp show more their strength in other ways. For example how nami knows how climate and weather works and ussopp being a engineer/handyman just shows how they got skills besides just being a navigator or a sharp shooter. It showed before usopp always was a kind of engineer and nami knows how weather works and how to take advantage of it. So yes, the fight itself was bad, but the idea behind it good imo.

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Cannon's face and Carter side eye when the pigeons came out of the clima takt😂

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

One Piece fans never disappoint in glazing their anime like generational edge

EightNights

true, but reading all these manchild comments is kinda gross

Brig Andrus

I see that the Tanjjro rage bait worked ☠️😈

KrispyKenny

@Marcus TRUEE lmao I was waiting for the "how is he still alive" comments in sakamoto like they did in every single early one piece episode but they never said it smh

Sandi uchiha

I think I watched this as background noise😂 I was like 18 and cleaning my room. I remember binging like 10 episodes a day so these goofy fights didn’t really annoy me

Mahti

Don't be sad it lasted be happy it's over 😂

Ulises Flores(Uliee.)

Day 4️⃣ of asking the Geks to add one more episode per drop, if you agree destroy that like button!

Mahti

xD

Mahti

The fight is pretty decent in the manga but dog water in the anime like most early fights

Hector

Who would ever disagree

Hector

This might be the method for my next rewatch

Rhettoric

Brigham, Lord of Ragebait

Mahti

Ikr their reactions were hilarious

Hector

This was some Sakura vs Ino stuff ngl

Zipzzty

9/10 Rage bait ngl

Nis

The rewatch value for the next arc is absolutely worth it. The foreshadowing is actually insane. I had to rewatch it after finishing the Wan* arc and I couldn’t believe Oda gave us so many clues as early in the series without making it obvious.

Jeff

How the anime adapts the fights, definitely does it dirty. They are still silly, but not nearly as drawn out. Anime makes it a bit much.

EmlovesOP

Nami is so hot 🥰

Marcos

Idk where you got the rating being over 8 on IMDb. Both where 7.7

bobqueen16

at the end of the second episode i am reminded how in the 4kids dub they made zoro freaking bark

Ernesto Blanco

Some episodes dont cook but soon after the cooking starts.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

I watched One Piece in Dub and did something else whenever there was a fight scene. One Piece Story 🔥 One Piece Fights 📉

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Ofc some of the fights are absolutely goated but it’s usually paced horribly or I don’t care about who’s fighting TBH

Mr. John Kagurabachi

IMO thriller bark doesn’t need one pace. You probably just didn’t inherently like that arc but I thought it was paced extremely well.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

You might need One Pace or drop more episodes so you skip through the “boring” fights faster. The pacing of the fights never get better. Even goated arcs like W7/Marineford had slow-paced boring fight sequences.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

I don’t FW one pace before episode 500, but if it makes you enjoy the show more then go for it 👍

Niffol

Canon and Brigg are NOT having it with the climat tak lolol

Niffol

episodes/chapters with this kind of stuff is why I never claim OP is GOAT material. It has GOAT moments, diamonds in the rough. and no matter how many diamonds there are... there is A LOT of rough.

EmlovesOP

what nah... it's an 1000 ep plus anime like what do u expect every ep to be peak like??

Matt Haloostock

Agreed. My first watch this fight had me stressed as to how Nami could even win. The clima takt was a little ridiculous to me too but I just wrote it off as an anime thing

Selma E

That is a wild opinion to have lol

KrispyKenny

Just one thing that I disagree with in this reaction is Carter saying it was out of nowhere, there have been early clues & small moments where she shows an unusual affinity for weather patterns or an innate understanding of how weather affects situations. For example, she predicts storms and uses rudimentary weather-related tricks, hinting at her natural skill. She also has a baton for a weapon early on. Usopp has also been the one to repair the ship and make smoke bombs and various gadgets. You can dislike it all you want but there has been foreshadowing for the clima-tact

KrispyKenny

Also I personally found the Nami fight hilarious but humor is subjective ig. Glad they enjoy the mob psycho humor tho

KrispyKenny

Fake sanji, doesn't care about Nami fights

Mr. John Kagurabachi

I don’t like seeing women get hurt! But I guess you think otherwise, huh 🤨

Sloth

This fight sucks, and Nami's weapon kinda comes out of nowhere, but it's a small blemish imo and Nami kinda needed something weather based so I just ignore how bad the setup is.

Neith

Usually I never skip Geks One Piece reaction, but I'll skip this one

Wyvern

Just the other day I was thinking about how Nami was getting the clima takt soon and that I didn't recall any buildup to her actually getting it, she just magically had it all of a sudden. I know Usop built it but theres nothing showing that earlier.

Niffol

Good you should have higher standards. lol

JeanJean

I do like the fact Usopp was kinda able to do something of value for once. We've seen him be the handyman of the crew, being good at drawing and repairing things, but he surpassed himself here with the clima takt.

Nope

I mean she's literally hinted at being great with with rain winds, etc. She's the navigator. Also she usually fights with a staff.

Mitch

Saying these two fights were worse than syrup village is kind of an unreal take but to each his own lol.

Nick K

That was my thought. I agree it's not a good fight, it has a few good moments but like 90% is just a joke, but it's still more interesting the Syrup Village at least.

Blake

I remember loving these fights when I saw them for the first time lol, I can see now why it might not be for everyone but I thought her power was pretty unique and fun ngl

andrew haynberg

I agree, the last 6 episodes could have been like 3 episodes max. I would have remove all of the gags in Sanji and Nami fights and remove Chopper/Usopp completing. Usopp could be more of a support roll in Nami fight (sniper support) and chopper could go around tending to wounded soldier/Rebel from the battle.

sleeby

In the manga, Usopp is shown making it on a cover page 25 chapters before the actual fight. Not much of a build up still, but it was shown.
