One piece! Tbh I like lore piece episodes and episodes where the crew are goofing around, seeing them interact adds a lot to why people love the straw hats. (Though don’t get me wrong jaya is not anywhere near top 5 for me lol

I can understand liking ep147 less than 146 but to say it’s bad is kind of wild when we had a moment of re-affirming what the series is all about(pie guy speech) when it was just so heavily challenged.

I think because of the events that went on in the episodes and watching them back to back they probably lumped all the Bellamy and bar interaction stuff into one episode in their minds, and then all the monkey business after like it was a different episode.

A lot of the one piece names come from real life influences all around the world. Montblanc for example is a French desert made with chestnuts and is very popular in Japan. Probably is why there’s a chestnut looking thing on Cricket and Noland’s head.

Ppl pls don’t hype up Skypiea too much. I know some ppl really loved it but pls don’t make their expectations too high. Overhype kills enjoyment. It’s out of my top 20 arc on my 1st watch. Though its now top 10 for me bcs of the lore in recent manga updates.

Yeah I'm glad Skypiea is getting it's flowers now (cos it was always great imo) but it was a pretty controversial arc in the fandom for a long time so I don't want to build up too much hype either, let's just enjoy the journey ⛵

As someone who is up to date with the manga, I appreciate all the early lore I’m seeing in Jaya right now, it's like I'm finding out the truth all over again, but with more insight. Skypiea isn't in my top 10... I just checked my ranking. But I have a fond memory. It was fun from the start till the end except for some fights that were dragged on for too long. The thing is I didn't use One Pace, if you guys do you'll enjoy it so much more.

So when I read Skypiea for the second time, I had forgotten everything! Characters, history, and plot. It was as if some greater power had erased all memories of Skypiea from my mind. I only remembered one thing from that arc, and that's because it's one of my favourite mysteries in One Piece. While it isn't the worst arc I've seen in anime, it is unfortunately forgettable. Sorry if some of you are Sky Island fans, but that arc didn't leave that much of an impression on me as the others do. But who knows. It could possibly end up being one of the Gek's favourites.

Everyone I know personally says that skypiea was not very enjoyable on the first watch but now they appreciate it. I only enjoyed the second half of it. Most issues come from pacing, so I hope one pace will help

Skypia was amazing the first time i watched it and has always been one of my favorite arc. One pace is garbage and ruins the show just to cut down on jow long youre actually watching. Theres no point in them taking this grand journey to get to the end of this story if they just speed through it in half the time anyone else did

Yeah honestly Jaya is pretty great. But it feels greater to me now because I’m up to date, I don’t remember if I felt that way about it on first watch. I would even put it above Loguetown.

Sky Island Saga, not just jaya arc, is easily a top 5, I think. Egghead, Wano, Enis, Paramount, and yea Sky Island. top 5.

Tbh, I personally like Alabasta better than Skypiea, and I'm sure a big part of that is because Vivi was such a good addition to the crew. BUT there are some things done better in Skypiea, and as the story progresses, the world will continue to expand.

skypiea is probably one of my most rewatched arcs of op, on a first watch you can kinda get lost in the big lore dumps because of the pacing, so i hope jack helps you whenever things get overwhelming lol😭 he lowkey needs to be careful with what he says tho, he has been doing a great job so far, if i was him i would've probably already spoiled ya'll on accident lmao

Most people I’ve talked to who’ve watched one pier enjoyed skypiea on the first watch, and this from many people over many years. I find it’s only a certain group of people who didn’t like it and are just very loud about it.

@Marcus I'll agree with you on that - the arc itself is the most important part, not how it ties in with arcs further down the line. I honestly think Skypiea is a good arc even if its a bit too long sometimes.

Skypia is definitely a slow arc for most people upon first watch & I think you guys would prefer One Pace for it. It mainly got recognition upon re-watch after context from later arcs re-contextualised it.

@Studio Gek I will give u the unbiased/objective list of Arcs and Hype. Jaya is a good arc with lots of lore and stuff that will be relevant later one. Its very short and does alot of things right, but even lots of Fans dont like some of the comedy with the monkey brothers. Skypia is nowadays a very beloved arc, but was initially hated on, because people didnt know, what the point was of SkyPia for the overall story and the pacing didnt help either. Also Alabasta is a great arc, but has lots of original scenes and filler episodes which drag the pacing down and was the first time the anime was close to the manga. Skypia was the next time the anime was very very close to the manga, so Skypia suffered the most from pacing problems, especially during the middle of the arc, which is the most adventerous one, but also where fights were drawn out. So OnePace is recommended. Watch the Filler Arc after Skypia because its Goated, some of the best comedy scenes and good writing, especially with the crew dynamic. The next big crash in Pacing was with Water Seven. Its one of the most beloved arcs, because the writing is great, the payoff is even better, the lore is crazy, the fights are awesome, the characters and villains are amazing and it gives u crazy places and opens up the world tremendously. After that the pacing stays mostly the same, with 1-1,5 chapters per episode, with the previous 2-3 in East Blue and Alabasta Saga. Until the 516 Episode mark, where the "One Piece Pacing is extremly bad" Memes are coming from, but they are not wrong. The Pacing crashed during that time and barely recovered, except during certain episodes. Thriller Bark is also a very unique arc, similar to Skypia very adventerous in tone & its getting more attention and less hate nowadays, because for everything it sets up. After that its a Stretch of 120 episodes of Peak. One Pieces greates stretch. I hope you continue to have fun with this show and i hope you finally have some answers to certain questions Geks :)

IMO, Skypia ranks #16 Out of the 32 complete canon arcs in one piece so it’s no where near top 5 arcs for me

Skypiea is an arc that gets better every time I revisit it. I didn't love it on my first time though, because the pacing was pretty bad in the beginning/middle in the original anime. It's an extremely important arc to the main story though. Can't wait for 151 next week

Would you consider watching the remake which is coming up later this year? Toei has released the episodes on a weekly basis for 20+ years which is why the pacing can be off at times. I think this won't be a problem for the remake.

just lock in boys. i know its tough to get through these episodes, but the story telling/world building always comes back around in some form. I know it's not JJK, or AOT, where things are slammed in your face constantly, with animation from 2018+ and 2020's, but it gets there, and if you lock in for these early sections, it's so worth it. We're not far off from where the story really starts taking pace, and the animation starts getting updated. Skypeia is a lot of lore.. lots of things you're gonna look over.

It’s nearly impossible to catch every little detail in a 1,100+ episode show, especially when you’re watching nine other shows simultaneously. I think they’re as locked in as they can be. Let’s not force this on others, it’s not a huge problem since we can explain certain details later in the comments. I know it doesn't feel as good as putting things together yourself, but it’s not a bad thing to figure out things later. They don’t necessarily need to catch every bit of foreshadowing or spend too much time trying to predict the plot when it’s unclear which detail matters and which doesn’t. Even in AOT, where pacing is amazing, I still notice new details with every rewatch even when I’m fully locked in. Can you imagine how much we’re still missing in one piece? I can’t
