Happy wednesday everyone! Just a quick announcement. Unfortunately, breaking bad will be temporarily on pause for the forseeable future. It is not permanent, and it will be picked up again and will be finished. We will probably transition into Better Call Saul following that.

The good news is instead of 1 movie per week we will now be posting 2 movies per week! The current series are the Apes and Indiana jones franchises. We will occasionally be holding polls to get your guys opinions on the upcoming movies. Thank you all and have a fantastic week!

Comments

Ash

HAPPY TUESDAY 🤭🤭

Amira

Omg this just made me so happy !! So excited you guys are continuing Indiana Jones🥹🥹

Mitch

Wha wh wh what? Wait what? What? Right at the start of s3 and where the show really picks up too damn. So are the only uploads for cinema gek going to be two movies per week? No show replacing breaking bad?

Rhettoric

More movies is great, but I was loving the Breaking Bad reactions😭 Hopefully they’ll be back sooner rather than later

Amira

More moviessss let’s gooo🥰🥰

rayman

nooo I loved rewatching BB with yall 😭 hopefully it comes back very soon

Betsy

Excited about more movies, ya'll are amazing! 🥰

Karoliwxkk

Abogaymer

Wait, why? It was the best show you guys were currently watching

TheSauceGuy

Planet of the Apes movies are the best thing on the channel rn imo. The Last of Us S2 is exciting too though because it's new.

Thicc Thanos

Please tell me this is a late April fools joke

Stairguy

No BB....... 🥲

Frosty

Breaking Bad and BCS, 2 of the best shows of all time vs movies that are admittedly iconic and usually fun but have been seen a million times by most and aren’t the most engaging reaction content, is a tragic replacement 😔

J

devastated

Jimmy

We need some Anime Movies too 🙏🙏🙏 Redline, Akira, and I Want to Eat your Pancreas are all Cinema

Jamin

Horray

Juicyjaloomba
>>171227894

Wayyy back when I watched them I remember liking the concept of the first movies where the apes slowly start to get the edge over humanity, becoming more organized and eventually replacing humans as the most powerful species on the planet

Sissy Six

Right when I caved and started watching the BB reactions because I was missing cinema gek content 😭😂 but hey, at least we got TLOU to hold me over.

Hector

Dam...

Sissy Six

Also I’m mostly sad about this because delaying this just means delaying the possibility of us ever watching succession together until probably 2026 at the soonest 🥲

Gabriel Mendez

Would love to see some new instant classics on the poll like bullet train, Ford v Ferrari, Baby driver, Spider verse movies Kingsman movies Quiet place movies The Martian and upcoming movie by same creator project hail Mary Even some older ones that hold up like Scott Pilgrim vs the world or mean girls You've prob seen some of these movies but they're some I've seen recently that are great and a lot of fun

Jimmy
>>171229010

Not enough engagement for time put in. It’s a great show but they are trying to grow and tbh this show just doesn’t have enough engagement. Plus their K-Dramas are getting a lot of positive feedback so I wouldn’t be surprised if they lean more into that.

Dasha

I’m not even watching breaking bad but what’s the reason guys

Conk

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Sam M

The cinema in cinema gek is now fully lost, and we are left with only slop

diavolo

Terrible day

MegMegMegg
>>171230178

Are you implying the apes movies and the Indiana Jones Franchise are "slop"?

ricenottwice

Sweet, rather than doing first Indiana Jones or the Apes, we do both lol

Chrissy

Well damn 😢

Liam

Unsubscribe

Welch

.These are definitely popular movies. But not nearly as engaging reaction content as Breaking Bad. And no reason being given is strange.

jrnoodles

Thank you for the update. I am saddened by the sudden pause of Breaking Bad, but I'll wait.

diavolo

Reading people’s posts… I hope this is cus of a scheduling issue and not cus of the low yt views bro, patreons voted for this show 😔

Ados

Can y'all post 2 one pace episodes tomorrow? Considering that covers most of the flashback? Surely you atleast watched those 2 episodes together?

P999

I understand caring about YouTube views but for it to drive your decisions on what shows you drop or keep is odd. Shouldn't keeping your paying audience be your priority?

tomlette

If this is cause of scheduling conflicts or overload I get it, but if you guys are pivoting away from goated but less popular tv series towards more movies and hype shows for the YT views I’ll be so sad. Gotta prioritize peak. I worry for you if you go through life much longer without the absurdly enriching and culturally significant moments and memes that succession provides. You could always do shows that don’t do well on YT as Patreon exclusives too? Anyway, interested to see what the next few months look like over here! I’ll be here regardless.

C2-H5-OH

Dropping something legendary like Breaking Bad (going against the Patreon poll to choose BB, showing they have good taste), going in favor of YT views over what has been collectively, decidedly been superior TV, and all this with no reason given... Can't believe I'm saying this, but huge L guys. This is not what I ever expected from you. I have loved you since the original AoT days since you are original and authentic, which is why I cannot imagine a decent reason for abandoning one of the greatest shows in the last 20 years like Breaking Bad. Help me understand, because it does not make sense.

Carni

Very disappointing

Eiden Porter
>>171231965

I agree IF the reasoning is the reasoning is because of the YouTube views. I have a feeling it’s due to them not being able to make the schedule work for whatever reason.

Sam M
>>171232003

Since the Saturday BB uploads have been significatly delayed every time for several weeks, it makes me lean towards repeated schedule conflicts, but I feel like they would just say that if it was the case. The non-explination has me concerened it's just for youtube views, but it could be a combination of overloaded schedules so they had to pick one to remove so they picked the lowest performing series. But wait, they're substituting more content in its place, which means it's not overloaded, which means... Oh dang. Rip. Just speculation though it could be something random.

I’m Tired
>>171232316

They’re currently doing live-action shows and movies , hope this helps !! :-)

Aliya

Quite sad but the chances they’re going to check out “The glory” increases now 🙇‍♀️

GreetswithJudgement

Didn’t they say in their post that BB will be back and they will follow it up with BCS? Didn’t they say it wasn’t permanent? What are we concerned about? Why are we jumping to conclusions? If this is really about YouTube engagement why would they follow it up with BCS which will also struggle with engagement? That wouldn’t make sense if it is truly about engagement. And who the hell cares, if it is. You have choices.

tomlette
>>171232246

To be fair I don’t think breaking bad won any Patreon polls. They selected it on their own as a surprise series.

P999
>>171231965

Even if it's due to scheduling, why am I paying for one or two movies a week and kdramas. That is not what i signed up for lol.

Brix

BB is why im subscriped on here. Hopefully it will be back soon, much love to the crew <3

Sissy Six
>>171232003

like what do you mean you don’t understand the reference if we are mid-argument and i, as a woman, yell “IM THE ELDEST BOY”

Riley

L

Sam M
>>171229649

It's never gonna happen dawg. In this house we watch k dramas and popcorn flicks

Sissy Six
>>171232768

Idk it coulda been like when your parents tell you your pet went to live on a farm lol. But I see they reiterated that it’ll be back so we worryin for naught.

Thicc Thanos

I feel like if you start something you should commit to it no matter what. Otherwise you set a bad precedent and lose trust with your audience. At any point people will (correctly) feel that the rug may be pulled out from under them if they get invested in a series reaction. Losing your customers trust means losing customers. If it can happen to such an iconic and acclaimed show like Breaking Bad then it can happen to any show.

Sissy Six
>>171229649

i have faith in them lol the boys will pull through on succession eventually.

Sam M
>>171232768

It's reasonable for people who already paid for a product expecting to get it to care

Braylen

Am I the only one seeing that this is temporary?? I love BB and BCS and don’t see the problem. Whether it’s a month or 2 or whatever there’s plenty of things to enjoy in the meantime. These comments are weird to me

GreetswithJudgement
>>171232768

Very reasonable. Indeed. It’s also unreasonable to expect something that can’t be expected at the time. And if you are paying for the product, you have an option to stop paying for the product. Complaining will not get you the product. Not everyone here is complaining as some are voicing their concern with extreme maturity. The fact remains. You still have choices.

Gunder

Geks, you guys from what I’ve seen are stand up guys. I’m sure you have your reasons and they are understandable. You do you and keep being the goats of the reaction sphere

Gunder
>>171232316

Everything they post on Cinema Gek is live action and they said it’s temporary and that it will be back?

~Mercedeez Lee~
>>171232684

They already said they are gonna check it out after they are done with All of us are Dead. So we just gonna wait a little bit longer for them to get to it

Micah Seer

I think the word “temporarily” really flew over some heads

Ados
>>171233873

its more what do they think will change in a month or 2 by waiting

Ados
>>171232768

its either 1. engagement or 2. availability. And considering all people on aot 2.0 reaction would be available, so would breaking bad. Unless ofcourse they've got weeks of aot pre-recorded

GreetswithJudgement
>>171232768

If it ain’t engaging then it ain’t engaging. If the schedule is screwed up then the schedule is screwed up. It sucks if that’s the case but we don’t know what the case is.

Zess
>>171231965

I mean the channel started off as anime only for a long while, so there being changes and variety on the channel isn't really what you're implying about "not getting what you're paying for" You're paying for their reactions to multiple shows ideally, not just to watch breaking bad not on netflix lol

Zess
>>171231145

Breaking bad never won a poll though lol they just chose to watch it.

Rice887
>>171232768

Don't know how this is supposed to make sense. If you are paying for a service, then as a consumer, it's well within your right to criticize if you feel you have been cheated.

Rice887

Speaking from experience, when creators say that "it will be on hold temporarily" without providing any reason, it usually means it's never coming back. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Mahti
>>171231145

Patreons in fact did not vote for BB since most of them have already seen it before

GreetswithJudgement
>>171232768

Who said you can’t criticize? Criticize away. The problem is when people jump to conclusions especially after the Geks CLEARLY already said they would return to the show and not to worry. People completely missed that part. THAT doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve made it very clear what the issue was. Like I said, criticizing isn’t the problem. People not thinking is the problem. People only assuming the worst is the problem. Also people lacking patience is the problem.

Aliya
>>171233367

I get the point about trust, but at the end of the day, it comes down to priorities. If the creators prioritize growth, relevance, or other content over finishing a specific show, that's a valid choice. It's not just about interestб it's about where their time and energy make the most sense. Forcing themselves to keep going with something they're no longer aligned with doesn't benefit anyone, especially the viewers. I'd rather they stop than drag it out just for the sake of "commitment."

Chiefzys

Ahh darn I just caught up to the Breaking Bad reactions was looking forward to those

Alf C
>>171229661

Bro just listed his fav movies and called them instant classics 💀

Conk

So we are getting mid Indiana Jones over BB. Not good news

Matthew Hunt Davies

Sometimes I look at comment sections and can't help but think that many people grew up entitled, getting everything they want. Saying petty shit like "Unsubsribe" makes you look like a complete tosser. Just unsubscribe and come back when they bring it back. It's okay to be upset, without being an arse hole about it.

GreetswithJudgement
>>171237246

Tosser? Love that! I think maybe I’m not as disappointed about it because I remember I’m here for the Geks first. They can watch Barney or the Hallmark channel nonsense and I wouldn’t give a shit.

Cryptcat

Should of turned off comments on this post cause people can't seem to read.

Josh Viz

I guess I need to go look at these comments 🍿

Conk
>>171237246

British people insulting people will never be taken seriously with words like tosser 🤣

Conk
>>171235747

I was going to bring Sakamoto up but that shit is mid anyways.

Conk

Temporary can mean anything. Is it going to be like Ninja Kamui? Invinsible? 96? Sakamoto days?

Jv1300

It would be cool if you guys would give us a reason why you are putting it on hold lol

Ados
>>171237246

people shouldn't be assholes, for sure. But complaining or criticizing is completely fine.. They're running a business here

Dorsia's Media Critique

Take y'all's time. Look forward to it coming back. It would be nice to see the S2 finale up, but y'all watch in batches of two so I get that that might not work out. Regardless though I look forward to the content on both channels hope y'all are doing well.

Wiifty

Band of brothers only has 10 episodes, could be a good mini series to watch during the down time if yous were interested. Just throwing out an idea

Super Novice

Yeah I’m sure the comments below are going to be 100% rational, kind and understanding over this temporary pause of a single show? Right? 😰 Right?! On a serious note, you do you guys. Most of us are here for multiple shows/movies, so even though I love BB, I’m happy to wait. :)

ginta2109
>>171238188

If by invisible you mean invincible, I believe they’re already all caught up on that aren’t they?

Conk
>>171238188

Yes. But it took like a year or so for them to do so. That's why I'm wondering if BB will end up like that.

Conk
>>171238188

And I typed "Invinsible" not "Invisible" so you are wrong, and I am wrong. Not wrong on the word Invincible.

Matthew Hunt Davies
>>171237246

Conk, I've seen some of your other comments, and the fact that the word "mid" is actually unironically apart of your vocabulary, tells me everything i need to know.

xSaorix

Here are some shows I recommend! They are all short. The Terror Season 1 (SO Good) and The White Lotus for some social commentary and great cinematography. The terror only has 10 episodes and the white lotus has three seasons 10 episodes per season.

Matthew Hunt Davies
>>171237246

Ados, I completely get criticising, but unfortunately some people on here don't know the difference between criticising, and being an insufferable person.

AV

Feels like whoever is making the business decisions lately has been dropping the ball. The reason this reaction channel took off was because you were posting AOT reactions everyday without being bogged down with trash shows. You were clearly enjoying AOT and the audience could see that and it reflected in the views and subscriptions. Watching too many shows 1 or 2 episodes at a time just makes the reactions worse because you aren't as invested in the show and the audience can see that and tunes out. Also choosing to do Breaking Bad when all of you have already seen it is dumb. I would recommend going back to your roots and picking 1 or 2 shows and getting fully invested in watching them until the end. You guys obviously enjoy binging shows, the audience enjoys when you binge shows. You have plenty of great shows to binge. Stop trying to squeeze every penny from your reactions and just focus on watching shows you want to watch and people will see you enjoying the shows and tune in. Also stop picking shows that you have already watched. I know there are some people who will glaze you no matter what, but the vast majority of the people who are here are here for first time reactions. No one wants to watch reactions to shows you have already seen. This is also a problem with shows that most of you haven't seen but the one person who has dominates the whole reaction. Just my two cents on what I've noticed over the span of following this channel. Don't miss out on dollars by chasing after pennies.

k; Guz
>>171237114

Great news, peak iconic Indiana Jones over a show everyone including them watched.

Conk
>>171237114

There were like 3 people on the couch that didn't watch it lol. And something being iconic doesn't make it good lol. It's also far from peak

Thicc Thanos
>>171233367

Doesn’t benefit anyone? How about their fans? How about themselves? Trust and commitment with your audience is not something frivolous that should be cast aside so easily. Being a trusted brand is actually one of the most important things in business. Is finishing the show going to be that much of a detriment that it’s worth sacrificing this? And is this going to be the last time they do this? How do I know? Some react channels have earned that reputation. Studio GEK right now has a good reputation, but if they keep doing stuff like this people will start associating this behavior with the brand. “Going to wait until they finish the show before I start watching because I don’t know if they’re going to stick it out.”

Thicc Thanos
>>171237643

Yea, that won’t cause even more backlash. Great idea. Let’s not get all “heil Hitler bitch” in here because you don’t like opposing opinions.

Conk
>>171237246

Its only apart of my vocabulary on here. Mainly because this is the only place people call shit mid shows/movies good lolol

Conk
>>171240181

Yeah, I always see react channels react to like 10 shows at the same time, and I know they aren't equally as invested in all of them or will remember crucial details in all of the shows. Like, why not react to 2 or 3 shows, and burst through them in a month or 2 instead of 6?

Ollie

You guys are putting out a lottt of content right now so it's understandable, thanks for the update :)

Pulse rifles suck in pve
>>171240181

I'm not saying I disagree with some of your points but you talk like aot was peak gek ( it was) but also hate if they've already watched the show? What's the difference between half the couch having seen aot and half the couch having seen breaking bad? It's literally no different

Fatipapi

Noooooo not breaking bad 😭😭😭

Ados
>>171240181

I agree that their business decisions aren't great but no great reaction channel sticks to 2-3 shows at a time lol. Their attack on titan rewatch is actually doing fairly well, despite them all having seen it, albeit the rewatch part isn't what's selling it, its the girls input as new watchers. And their breaking bad reactions have been fine, Jack, Mckay and Bradlyn basically hadn't seen any of the show. You could tell that Jack and Mckay didn't know anything past season 1. Not to mention that as they've gone through shows over time, if anything more shows are being watched that none of them have seen. At the start of the channel they were dwindling through all the most popular stuff and half of them had seen most of what they watched. So your point there is fairly ironic. Also, when they have 2 long running anime's, One Piece and Naruto that they're too far into, i don't know why you'd recommend dropping shows like its a feasible and sensible decision. Here we are with them pausing breaking bad and even that isn't getting a good reaction. The problem is that they want shows that do well on youtube, and then they're stuck adhering to a niche like kdrama's which are doing 3x aswell on youtube than anything else they post. That's the hurdle they need to get over. Its not a case of needing to drop shows or get through them at lightning speed

JayCnY

it's kind of crazy that any show we are watching right now could just be pulled indefinitely and no reason given.

Ados
>>171238516

if you're referring to youtube im sure they'll post it. they've watched through to season 3 episode 2, so they'd just have to edit it.

Fatipapi

Kinda surprising to see so many ppl being so pissed off over the BB pause when those drops on here have some of the lowest engagement (comments/likes)? 😅 Yalll barely there for the hype but are now here crying? Ok 🙄

Scarlet.66613

WTH is wrong with people in the comment section? You cry and complain like your favorite animal is dead. Saying the Geks is a business and we the costumers should be satisfied all the time and our need come first is a total BS. The Geks are human being and they have their own needs, thoughts, opinions and feelings and most importantly LIFE. We people (who aren’t entitled and gone crazy) like the boys and when they make time from their busy schedule, we are happy about it. They didn’t say the BB is gone permanently, only temporarily. They have their reason, so stop making an assumption and say is about viewing count on YT. 🙄

Cryptcat
>>171237643

relax bro im just saying half the people here acting like this is some permanent end of the world change and that theyve done this multiple times before

nocomprendo

Hopefully you guys do less rewatches, they are pointless

Salimatah Agbadou
>>171244896

well its not BS, im not complaining like everyone else but people are entitled to criticise because here on patreon people pay to watch reactions and lets say you paid for April and may assuming they'l be regularly posting BB but then randomly stop... ofc you're allowed to feel a certain way. People were not given a reason why, so yes they will make assumptions... Now I'm not talking for anyone that's throwing insults or vulgar language but everything else should be allowed to be expressed in the comments here.

Itsokaytrustme

Am I the only one here just for the vibes and don't care what they watch?

Scarlet.66613
>>171244896

And I agree, and I get the disappointment when your favorite show is temporarily on hold, but some of the comments is too much

Osiris704
>>171240181

@Ados I’m interested in what other business decisions you think are not great on this channel. The only thing I can think of is them falling off of shows, but that’s a rarity. For how long they’ve been doing these reactions and with how many shows they juggle through the weeks it’s actually impressive how much quality content is consistently available. Especially everything they’ve completed thus far.

Rajesh Muna

for anyone who sees this, just wanted to ask! how many days in a week do they post AOT episodes or a batch?

Ollie
>>171240181

I disagree, I would say having multiple different shows on the go at a time is good for their channel and bringing in bigger audiences. I personally don't mind rewatches and watch the shows/movies that I like, even if a few of them have seen it, and I feel many people probably also feel the same. And I don't really see paying for Patreon as buying a product, but as supporting Studio Gek. I feel that what is good for them is growth, as it will allow them to keep cranking out top tier reactions. Just hopefully not at the expense of their choices of their reactions and chosen shows/movies.

Sasha

Oh no. Breaking Bad is the best thing on this channel after AOT😭

Osiris704
>>171233367

Studio GEK will continue to have a good rep if they keep up what they’re doing. For how consistent they are in their weekly drops and how much content they’ve pushed out over the last two years, we can trust they wouldn’t do something like this without a good reason. They don’t normally have temporary breaks on shows. It’s ok to just give grace every now and then

Osiris704
>>171238188

BB is too great a show and has too great a fan base to just stop watching altogether. It’ll definitely come back. They’re probably just not sure when at the moment

Osiris704
>>171232246

I never thought those polls meant they were actually going to watch the show that won next. Just for them to gauge what the community was feeling at the time. Although they usually do watch the more popular votes.

Fgts Editing
>>171243388

Typical, they also said they would pick Sakamoto Days back up once it finished airing and no sign of that

Osiris704
>>171240181

@Ollie i second this in how i feel about the channel. I do get some peoples frustration since they’re technically paying for a service but aren’t getting it. Just means check out their other reactions or just unsubscribe and come back later if you want

Conk
>>171243563

Did you ever think the people complaining are the people that were watching it?

Fatipapi
>>171243563

No shit, but the hate here vs the engagement there is disproportionate. Besides, my comment is not directed at the ppl who ARE active in the BB comments, obviously.

Ados
>>171244896

it is a business lol, its allowed to be criticized

Ados
>>171243563

This post is open to both payed members and free members, thats why engagement is huge here

MAT
>>171241231

Understandable? Lol. Let's be honest, they need to stop milking so many shows at the same time and go back to watching fewer shows.

MAT
>>171237643

You want to silence paying members for rightfully calling the Geks out? On something they've pulled multiple times and never improve on...

Neant
>>171244896

Imagine you go to a restaurant and pay for a set then the owner tell you no they are not going to offer you that and neither refund you. You smile and thank for his efforts to make other dishes, and even tell other ppl who complain to stop BS. lol I’m not even watching BB reactions just random in to see what’s happening with so many comments, but this kind of comment is rly annoying.

MAT
>>171234229

Didn't fly over anyone's head lol. If this was the first time this happened, I'd understand why ppl want to be charitable. I like Geks, but they keep repeating the same mistakes. They've always had pretty poor communication, & ppl have been telling them for a long time to stop milking too many shows at once. Paying members are understandably gonna get angry.

Ados
>>171240181

1. Communication, although i feel its gotten a bit better recently. Communication and Transparency is important. 2. Polls, they rarely poll, and basically half of the stuff they watch isn't from a poll, for better or worse. Its about time a live action show should be polled, since there are people who don't want to watch a k-drama or a breaking bad rewatch. They haven't polled a live action since dark so like 6 months. 3. Watching stuff that's going to do well on youtube is a common and understandable move, but dropping or pausing shows for engagement reasons, if that's what this is, isn't a good decision. If you look at their views for their kdrama's compared to live actions the difference is night and day, but that shouldn't mean that they should just pump out kdrama's like no tomorrow. Otherwise once you build up that audience who is there for the kdrama's they aren't going to want anything else. A kdrama slot is fine but if they only watch what is doing good on youtube is not necessarily good for them or anyone who isn't a fan of those series and wants to see them watch genuinely GOAT contending shows like they've shown to have an interest in 4. Their one piece upload schedule has been lacking imo, havent seen anyone else complaining but after switching to one pace, they did 2 one pace eps per drop, so 4 a week for about 2 or 3 weeks, and then shamelessly switched to 1 one pace episode per drop, so 2 a week. And its been like that for almost 2 months now. I think 3 one pace eps is fair. If they started skypiea doing only 2 a week they would be on the same pace as if they had just done no one pace and 4 normal eps a week, or around it. Its counterintuitive and kinda shallow 5. I've enjoyed the aot rewatch, however prior when they were talking about the rewatch i assumed it'd be just the 5 boys picking up on detai;s and having a genuine discussion with no fear of spoilers. Instead, its really not a rewatch, its just us watching the 3 girls' first watch. We dont get to hear specifics on what the guys think in this " rewatch " so there's no point even calling it that. That said, once again, i am enjoying it, its just im not enjoying the rewatch, im enjoying the girls' first watch.

UGHHH NO WE WANT BREAKING BAD😭 but it’s okay we’ll be here

Cryptcat

The valud criticism is good but the amount of pure hatred and misunderstanding is ridiculous..

Sarah Wevers

Now how LONGGGG we talking??👀 like a couple weeks or a year?😭

Cryptcat
>>171243563

BB had some of the lowest engagement and its a shame but the amount of hate here is crazy

sleepymiffi

can we expect some studio ghibli movies?👁️👁️

Ninaly

Can you guys throw Everything Everywhere All at Once in the movie poll? <3

Ollie
>>171241231

Yeah understandable, pretty sure they have day jobs and churn out a crazy amount of content where they need everyone there at the same time 😂 nah I like the variety and they keep a lot of people engaged

Goat

I am not affected by this delay, it just makes me sad that if the reason for the pause was low engagement, it means that a lot of critically acclaimed but less mainstream shows will not be watched on this channel

Neant
>>171241231

They are full time on this i think. Check out the announcement last year. But yea I agree it’s not easy to schedule 5 or even 8 people sit together at the same time.

Ninaly
>>171253384

Where did they say it was due to low engagement? That would suck. I was hoping it was something like scheduling conflicts.

Mahti
>>171241231

They do this full time. I would also prefer they focused on a smaller number of shows so they don't burn out and can remember where they left on in each series.

Ados
>>171253384

Its just inference. Breaking Bad isn't doing great on YouTube. The main cast of guys obviously aren't tight for time since they'll be posting as usual. Therefore you get to the Attack on Titan rewatch, so unless Bradlynn is either missing from those reactions, or they're pre recorded for a decent amount of time, then it means that they are all available

Spencer

Oof yeah this one hurts. Onto the next though!

Goat
>>171253384

I suspect that maybe due to TLoU S2 and Andor S2 both coming out in April, they wanna divert some of their time to watching these first while the hype is there, which is understandable

Ados
>>171240181

well i think regardless of the 2nd youtube channel. It made sense to do both live action and anime

RAE09

pls react to Netflix’s DAREDEVIL if you can😭one of the best things out on television EVER

Ollie
>>171241231

Ahhh fair, I stand corrected. But yeah, it does seem a lot for sure

Edwin

i cancel until its back

Shane

A Band of Brothers reaction would be peak

Abogaymer

So we're stuck with mid K-dramas and movies for the foreseeable future, got it.

llB0JANGLESll

Does this mean the AOT rewatch will be delayed/ paused too? It's like the same group +1

JeanJean
>>171245374

AOT rewatch is peak, please. Less kdrama and tv show slop though for sure

Sarah Wevers
>>171231965

I really hope it’s not because of Youtube views 😭 but then again i don’t think so because if it was, they would drop the show all together

Maria

Yall should give The Bear🐻 a look. Short episodes, short seasons. Tons of Emmy wins and a new season to come in June. And you can watch it in front of anyone without it getting awkward cause no crazy corn scenes 😂 season 1 is 8 episodes, 30 minutes each.

JeanJean
>>171240181

"Also stop picking shows that you have already watched. I know there are some people who will glaze you no matter what, but the vast majority of the people who are here are here for first time reactions. No one wants to watch reactions to shows you have already seen. This is also a problem with shows that most of you haven't seen but the one person who has dominates the whole reaction. " That's you talking out of ignorance and in the name of everyone, I disagree and many do. Jack, McKay and Bradlin (half the couch) have never seen BB, there are literally more people that haven't watched BB than people that had watched AOT for the first time lol. And the AOT rewatch has been great since the rewatch value of AOT is outstandingly high. I enjoy it and many do, don't speak in the name of everyone. I think Ados makes some good poins but honestly, not polling all the time is a good thing imo. Maybe it gives us some slop occasionally, but at other times it gives us gems that democracy would have never allowed. Even if it's 50/50, I'll take it.

rian

where’s vikings? dooooont care where’s vikings?

JeanJean
>>171243563

I barely comment in general as I'm just a silent enjoyer, but yeah it is suprising to see one of the most critically acclaimed shows not doing as well in comparison to other shows.

Loren Harway

If it’s scheduling issues, don’t have seven people on the couch. It gets rowdy anyway. If engagement, that shouldn’t matter, you have a Patreon with paying subscribers.

JeanJean
>>171232246

"Yep. It was losing on the polls. The Geks chose to react to it. " I didn't know, that's actually an amazing decision on their part. Proof that Studio Gekk still watches things out of genuine interest instead of herd-like mentality driven by opportunism. Unironically love it. Enlightened despotism ftw. The people need to learn about gems, the masses need to be educated. Studio Gekk content should be flagged as education material. Just look at all the mid shows people are suggesting in the comments, these people are a disaster and the reason we are stuck with TLOU 2 and korean dramas.

I wouldnt mind the movies but I feel like they are going to pick some ass series, like Indiana Jones, Pirates, Harry Potter. They dont have a good track record of good movies so far

Billie
>>171273889

not something to be normalised in normal television. Nearly all of the times its included is for shock factor and doesnt push a plot in any meaningful way.

Billie

perhaps less shows is the way to go. you’ll eventually get to whatever you want to react to / audience wants. you don’t want to suffer from reaction and content fatigue, especially with filming all day long at times. just a thought but yes to more movies <333 im personally really enjoying the apes series’s reactions and can’t wait to also catch up on the aot reactions and continue the goat naruto reactions. And have a great week too guys!! 🫶🏽

Goatchis

Communication has been a problem with this channel for a long time, if the reason it's on hold is personal, just say that. Skirting around giving a reason is sketchy, and I'm not even a huge BB fan.

MaraReaper

Ngl this is a huge bummer, BB was my main current watch on the channel :( . Can you give us a range of how long the delay will be? A month, a year?

Snow

There's a lot of entitlement in these comments. Yes we're all paying; but we get A LOT of content for the cost of what we're paying. If something has to go on hold/hiatus, they do not NEED to tell us every reason why. Accept it's on hold and watch the rest of the catalog they're putting out. Seriously they communicate and tell you something is happening, and people got an issue with it. They don't communicate and tell you anything, people have an issue with it. Stop looking for issues in your life and you'll find a lot less.

Ados

Sam M
>>171301051

I run a business and I beg my customers to complain to me if they're unhappy for any reason, even if they're "rude" (lmao), and any sensible business has the same mindset. The worst case scenario is if my customers stopped buying from me for a reason that hasn't been communicated. Customers complaining is not only acceptible in a transactional relationship, it's NECESSARY for the benifit of BOTH parties. This alows the business to understand how to better serve the customers which makes them more valuable and more likely to grow, while making the customers happy at the same time.

Ados
>>171240181

i like polling specifically for the live action since its been soo long since they've done it for a non kdrama, non currently weekly release show, etc. Game of thrones, Dark, Chernobyl, feels like its about time they jump on a regular live action that isnt a rewatch or any of the above

Snow
>>171301051

Your business is run how you run it, theirs is run how they run it. Not all businesses are run the same, they owe you nothing besides what they post are the benefits of whatever tier of sub you bought. They are communicating.

Brett

lol these comments are wild. A lot of "Karen" energy in the chat.

Loren Harway
>>171301051

Roy Koopa

Oof. Another series dropped. Or delayed, in this case. Doesn’t matter either way really - because it introduces the idea that you don’t really like the series, or you just react for the views. All pretty messy. Not great! Just not a reliable channel. And I’m someone who thinks you shouldn’t have reacted to BB in the first place since most of you had seen it. Still not cool.

Osiris704
>>171240181

@Ados Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. 1) Good point, This was a pain point for a lot of us before but like you said they’ve been better with their communication so I forgot to mention. 2) I don’t think that just because they poll a show it means they have to or will watch it. I think they’re just gauging the community’s interest while planning out the schedule of shows they themselves are interested in watching. 3) Lack of engagement is a good reason to drop or pause a show especially if you’re trying to prioritize/manage channel growth and your own creative interests. That being said I don’t like it when it’s a show I’m watching but I’m not mad at it. Patreon is meant to support your creators, a $1-$10 subscriptions doesn’t mean we get to control everything they do. 4) We’ve all had weeks where we can binge a whole season and others where we can barely squeeze in an episode. I think the same grace should apply to them. If they had promised more than two One Piece uploads a week and weren’t delivering, I’d totally get the frustration, but didn’t they only promise two? If they’re meeting that, I don’t really see the issue. 5) I don’t think it’s a bad business decision but that is an interesting perspective. It does feel more like the girls’ first watch than a true rewatch for the guys, but I’m still enjoying it. Maybe they could do a post rewatch discussion after with just the guys so we can hear their rewatch experience/thoughts.

Man Lit

You guys should watch the penguin

I’m gonna reiterate a point others have made just because I feel like the more people speak up for it, the more likely for it to be heard. It’s definitely disappointing about BB and I hope it comes back soon. But I think the issue here is the sheer amount of shows. I wouldn’t say drop anything yall have going now, because that would just be really disappointing for the people here for those shows, but I would really recommend focusing on what yall are currently doing and not picking up anything new. Would I personally like if yall just reacted to like 1-3 things at a time? Yeah because I feel like we would get more of that content at a time and yall could be more immersed. But I definitely understand that’s not what everyone wants. I think there could be a happy medium. 2 anime or animation 2 live action (1 western, 1 foreign) 1 movie at a time And then the Friday watch party Even I think that’s a lot, and I’m not saying that would be the best formula, just like an example. And that also leaves that wiggle room for shows that are currently airing without it piling on top even more. I think y’all are currently watching 9-10 things atm which is quite a lot! Not to mention erased and violet that haven’t been uploaded and sakamoto days that needs to be watched I believe? That’s a lot to be on y’all’s plate imo. There’s never gonna come a time where yall will run out of recommendations, and I think cutting down the amount of shows at once will actually get yall to see more in the long run, because it’s not taking so long to finish one thing. If that makes sense.

JAN NARUTO
>>171308733

A lot of business consultants in the comments lately. Pretty sure the geks know what they’re doing. I’m here to support them, not really to buy a product. If a show is on pause, it’s not that deep

Ados
>>171328346

if im being honest this cant happen for a long time since they have naruto and one piece running which are obviously super long shows. Also, this " balance " thing where they should only be watching a certain amount of shows, should be down to them and whether or not they feel like they're less interested in some shows compared to others, if they're able to sit down with the intention of wanting to enjoy everything they watch, the amount of shows they're doing now is fine. We dont know if this pausing is for scheduling, it probably isnt, so i dont think this is the problem

Ados
>>171322379

3 of them havent seen it btw. And they obviously love breaking bad lol. But yes its probably for views reasons, and its temporary

Ados
>>171240181

well usually one piece normally is 4 eps a week, but switching to one pace which obviously drastically cuts episodes changes that. So if i were them id be operating it based on screentime per week. The average one pace episodes is 20-30 minutes, so it makes more sense to do at least 3 for a total of 1 hour 30 mins (10 more mins than if they were doing 4 normal episodes basically) rather than doing only 2 episodes for anywhere between 40 and 60 mins, which is obviously quite drastically less. And in the hypothetical that they did 2 one pace eps per week the whole way through the current arc they're on, they would basically be at a very similar point if they had stuck to the non one pace normal 4 eps, so its pretty counter intuitive.

Chrissy
>>171328346

Yeah, I hear ya. I’m definitely not saying I have the perfect solution or suggestion. Or even that it would be the best thing to do. It’s just my opinion and the impression I get. It feels like there’s too much to keep up with. I just threw out an example. A formula or whatever, wouldn’t have to be law. But a set of guidelines to help them schedule and fill slots. And adjust things based off the kinds of shows (super long, shorter, super short, old but a new season coming out, etc etc.) There would obviously be factors that would kind of change up the “formula” but it might just help with the mental load of it all to have some sort of roadmap/guideline whatever you wanna call it. I also imagine as they’re all adults with their owns lives, it can be hard to all get together like this. Fewer shows at one time would mean they could record more of a smaller batch of shows and still have plenty of content to upload because they aren’t losing time or anything. That’s just how I’d think if I was in the position. So I’m definitely coming from a place of wanting to help. But I could be totally off base. Maybe they are perfectly fine and more than happy with how they currently do things. The thing is though, they are leaving it up to interpretation and assumption.

David J

We need you guys to watch all the marvel movies in chronological order and also watch stranger things as the show to fill in BB. Thank you later.

What's up with these weird takes in the comments. Most of them had also watched AOT at first, why wasn't it a problem back then? Same with Harry Potter. BB is an excellent show, 3 of them haven't seen it, what's the issue?

JayCnY
>>171308733

@Jan Cool that you’re here to support, but calling everyone with a question or concern a “business consultant” is lazy. This isn’t blind fandom. It’s a community. People are allowed to be critical or curious when things change without notice. That is support; caring enough to talk about it.

Yugi

The geks can do what they want with their channel, anyone who doesn't like something can either criticize it or cancel their subscription. The boys will bear the consequences themselves. What you can't do at all is flame these people for their criticism. Just like the geks have the right to do what they want with their channel, the community can also do and say what they want (as long as no one is insulting)

>>171232246

In what world is Breaking Bad a “collectively, decidedly superior” TV show? The world is a lot larger than whatever’s pictured inside your head and the times are shifting. While it’s not always my cup of tea, I can clearly see that more and more millennials/Gen Z are choosing to watch Kdrama over a lot of American shows now. That’s just how it is. There’s no such thing as one type of art being “objectively” better than another

Since we’re all giving suggestions… lol, is there anywhere that’s updated weekly about the upload schedule? I think people would be less feisty in the comments if they knew what to expect each week. Also is there not a way to schedule uploads automatically on patreon for creators? Or at least manually uploading it privately and then manually making it public? Or having specific upload times? There has to be a way to make this more automated.

Tami
>>171272224

Agent September 🏴‍☠️

Being a cinema gek fan is the most frustrating thing. It feels like we are constantly the second priority. There are rarely binges or surprise drops compared to the anime side. Actually at this point every drop is a surprise drop because they are so many delays. I'm sure we will return to peak soon but the decision to ignore the polls and watch All Of Us Are Mid and then drop the only other show on the channel feels like a kick in the balls. I know the geks started with anime but if they want to build up a live action fanbase then posting kdramas is the wrong way to go about it. Sure they get more views in the short term because people come over from studio gek, but they don't bring new members in and grow the community in the long term.

mjenkinsify
>>171272224

I think its a matter of what they're interested I guess. One of the best reaction channels is this group of friends and their channel is called Reel Time. It's so organized, they react to multiple shows and movies a week on a schedule. The range of genre of what they react to is huge as well. Right now for example they're reacting to a show I don't want to watch, but then they'll watch something current like Adolescence or Leverage. Movies wise they'll react to a classic like Good Will Hunting then Clueless. Like this week they had a vote and people voted for Horror, its not really my thing but their organization and their ability to react to different kinds of things is such a strength!

mjenkinsify
>>171237114

I feel you lol but calling a movie like Indiana Jones mid is hilarious. It's in like Cinema Canon. However, selfishly I wish their genre choices varied more. Like you can tell their taste is very focused instead of watching something regardless of genre that happens to be good!

ninie
>>171243388

I mean personally, it’s not a question whether it’s buns or not. Some people enjoy it, some don’t, that’s fine. It’s just the lack of consistency and dropping out shows randomly, then promising to continue them without really being specific about when is disappointing.

ninie

So I’m gonna be out of topic here, but I’m a free subscriber so this is like the only post I can interact with, and you guys need to start communicating to YT as well.. YouTube never heard about what happened to Code Geass, Sakamoto Days and Invicible as well I’m pretty sure. Thicc Thanos
>>171243563

Guys, it’s really not that hard to understand. I personally was watching the BB reactions because I love that show but a lot of people are commenting because of the principle of the matter. Dropping shows out of the blue like this is extremely bad form. You’ll be glad that such a stink was raised when it’s a show you like that is on the chopping block next. If they start the show, they should finish it regardless. If that means they have to pick their shows more wisely then that’s what they need to do. Why would I follow reactions week to week if there’s a very real chance that it’s not going to be finished?

Jess

LOL everyone is so upset for what. We don't know what's going on. And frankly if we force them to continue shows or movies that they're just either not interested in or don't want to, they're going to burn out and hate it. I have dropped or paused plenty of shows and movies before. It is not the end of the world. Not to mention the engagement is so low why don’t we actually engage, comment and like the things we like to keep them on the channel. Instead of crying and kicking up a fuss for a pause.

Jess
>>171241231

Venus
>>171416482

calling all of us are dead mid and crying about your long winded over rated show being delayed is while, meanwhile we kdrama lovers never get anything. Breaking bad is just not that good after a few seasons but you don't see us people who don't care for the show over here crying and calling it mid. Get over yourself. The same way we kdrama lovers don't complain, you should take notes. Stop recommending shows that take 6 months to watch and maybe we can get something finished around here. Yall know how inconsistent they are and you still choose to recommend shit that goes on for as long as possible. Meanwhile the average kdrama is only 16 episodes.

Luka Monsaraz

Hope everyone is fine, my best and quick resolutions for whoever in the couch is affected.

James Moss

TBH with how slow Violet Evergarden is being posted and Breaking Bad on break + the anime catalog being pretty limited to popular Shonen, I think this is a good time for me to take a bit of a break from this Patreon anyway. I feel like instead of people getting so mad they should just unsub for a bit until more content shows up. I'll be back though, can't wait to see more of y'all reactions, it's just too sporadic and unpredictable for me to be paying $10 every month! And I totally get with so many reactors y'all have schedule barriers, have y'all ever thought of maybe doing certain shows for pairs of you? It might help you branch out with different shows without having to schedule 5+ people all at once for every show. I know Blind Wave does that.

HxTz
>>171416482

I personally have always found Breaking Bad to be mid at best, same as All Of Us Are Dead (compared to other Kdramas). It seems like more people are watching/interested in All Of Us Are Dead though. Most of them have seen Breaking Bad anyways, so that fresh reaction is not really there. Anime definitely has the largest community, and then K-Dramas. So why would they drop the 2nd largest community, which you admitted to having more views. Not to mention, if Anime is there priority, K-dramas are perfect to play second fiddle because they only usually have 1 season; as opposed to American TV shows that have many seasons. It sound's like you're salty for not getting what you want.

Agent September 🏴‍☠️
