Just so you guys know, BBY is the star wars version of BC or AD. It stands for Before Battle of Yavin (the battle at the end of episode 4). The beginning of the episode flashes 4 BBY meaning these 3 eps were set 4 years before episode 4.

Technically you could enjoy it just watching Andor s1. It would be a more full experience if you watch the original trilogy of star wars films ('episodes 4-6') then the film Rogue One, then season 1 of andor.

The gallery had Padme's headpiece, Plo Koon's mask, & Starkiller's armor! (May or may not be the original) Yes, that was definitely Yavin 4! Such rich history in legends. Ghorman was mentioned before. During the Clone Wars they were involved in the war between the Galactic Republic & the Confederacy of Independent Systems. A big event happens in 2BBY & I believe we're gonna get that.

Totally understand. Star Wars has always been political but imo it's very heavy in Andor. It builds up to something & it's important so I get it. Idk I do prefer more Jedi/Sith stories. This timeline though we know survivors/force users are being hunted down.

Carter saying "I love being back in Star Wars ... any time it's good" is so real lol. I think that most of what we have is mediocre, especially more recently, which really sucks. I have some hot takes as well that you guys might not agree with though.

Hot take 1: The OG trilogy is good, but overrated. It allowed for the universe to expand, but much of that expansion that we got wasn't great either. Most of Star Wars consists of recycled cash grabs with poor or little planning. Hot take 2: Anakin's development/transition to Darth Vader is portrayed very poorly in the films; it's just all over the place.

i think the problem i have is it is grounded for our world but not the starwars world and with that its just nitpicking and at the end of the day I realize this show is not for me if other people enjoy it that's great

Honestly found Season 2 first 3 episodes incredibly lack luster. (1) Cass spends episode and a half on a planet with a group of idiots that results in him just having to escape - nothing of substance takes place there. (2) Wedding where story progress ensues thankfully, but also has an abundance of slow "get to the point" moments, and a galactic dance party. (3) Group in the harvest finally has to attempt to duck out from the imperial forces checking silos - Disney throws in a really crappy SA attempt.

I'd have to rewatch as most of what I remember is from when I was a kid. In terms of character development and plot, I'd say it's better than most of Star Wars, but there are outliers, especially towards the beginning of the show. Edit: by plot, I mean how interesting it is. A lot of stuff obviously doesn't tie together or relate much to the main plot of the films, but I don't care about that.
