Bradlynn Andrus

Consider this?! AOT did NOT consider my feelings when it broke my heart time and time again 😔

hman70

This is why I couldn't get 100% onboard with everyone calling Return to Shigaganshina the GOAT arc. Because the 4x5 basement scene, everything that comes after? Beyond the best anime, one of the best stories ever put to paper 🔥

Rice

Sweet I just checked patreon for this lol

Melizé

BLESSEDD

Melizé

I am on lunch right now. Perfect timing

Madjoe

ngl probs to eve, bradlyn and ryley. i feel like they really pay attention about the show and their thoughts and theories were always pretty solid!

ssj4rit

Willy Tybur stocks rising

fyre

I love Eve’s reactions, she’s literally catching every detail and loves the characters. All 3 of the girls understand the show better than the guys i cant lie lol.

Chrees

Willy Tubur is Kakashi's voice actor! Surprised Brig didn't catch that 😁

Xala04

It didn't last for long where I live but it's crazy that it hasn't come back in some other places yet

GreetswithJudgement

I just love how more and more giddy McKay gets the closer they get to Declarations of War.

Matthew Valentine

I love how Reiner recognized Eren immediately even though first time viewers are supposed to be unsure until the reveal. Eren gave that man real life PTSD bro lmao

GreetswithJudgement

Riley’s face is so precious when they discover it’s Eren! 😂

Xala04

Declaration of war is one of my favorite episodes of the show. I love how the main characters of the episode are all parallels to Eren in different ways. Reiner is literally the same as Eren. Falco being betrayed by Eren is like when Eren was betrayed by Reiner and Bertholdt. Willy is willing to fight the enemy at all cost instead of waiting for their death and so is Eren (Willy even says Eren's line "because I was born into this world") .

GreetswithJudgement

Haha Cannon’s reaction at 49:39 😂 if you know you know

Garreth

The whole sequence of the boys up to Brig at 23:46 was absolute cinema

Micah Seer

This is the moment AoT decided to become the greatest show and story ever made

LilDaz26

Now that’s it’s over AoT s4 isn’t my favorite and really hurts the show overall for me, but man that episode is still perfect. 10/10

Philbo

you guys are kinda flying through these seasons lol so just a heads up They Dropped the "Attack on Titan: The Last Attack Movie" Which is the 2 1hr long special episodes combined and they also added a special after credit scene as well. its on crunchyroll as well so in case you guys don't want to do the 2 specials separately, you can just watch that instead

Albin Limani

Willy Tybur's VA is Kakashi.

CINEMA

Micah Seer

This rewatch is truly reinforcing how great this story and anime is. Not even 10 episodes ago we were in Return to Shiganshina and Grishas past and now this and the Raid on Marley, and 10 episodes later you know what begins. Mind blowing

Sean Carroll

Isayama (the author) famously said when he is finished attack on titan he will open up a spa/jacuzzi business and fill them up with his fans tears

Ante

4x5 is a frickin masterpiece and I won't hear any different. Completely gripped, heart pounding, palms sweating, just from two mfs sitting in chairs and talking.

Pudding

23:30 Wooow look at these actorsss🤣🤣 somebody give them an award, well-played

I’ve really been enjoying the addition of the girls to the channel. Interested in getting more reactions from the trio for other animated and live action series. Some suggestions: Death Note, Invincible, Interview with the Vampire.

A DECLARATION OF WAR PEAK EPISODE

Jean Racaillou

I guess this is where the binge watch started lmao

Aidan Ross

Willy is kakashi sensei

Jean Racaillou

Also obligatory comment about how this episode made "declaration of war" trending on twitter and really worried people not watching the show at the time haha

hman70

The juxtaposition of them seeing the female titan for the first time in season 1 and *immediately* clocking that she looks just like Annie, and then now in season 4 spending two episodes staring at Eren's face, hearing Eren's voice, him acting sus, calling himself *Kruger*, seeing him talk with Eren's grandpa about family regrets...and no one being confident enough to say it with their full chest XD The boys were great for letting it ride so the pop at the end of 4x4 would be amazing. The Friday batch will be an all timer.

Dasha

if you look up “trump zelensky pope funeral” it looks exactly like 4x5 and kinda gives the same energy lmao

Lorenzo

W gaslighting boys

Gunder

AoT and Berserk, the greatest anime and manga of all time

Alan

I’m glad none of the girls realized it was eren because I didn’t realize and my reaction was damn near the same as Riley’s lmao. I feel like it makes it so much better

Melizé

Hi baby! ❤️

Kp__

God damn i love watching these reactions so much

Cristian

interesting.

hman70

For any Bertholt lovers in the chat, I like sharing this in comment sections of 4x3, there were several small scenes cut from the flashback, my personal favorite being a short scene of Bert's POV right before destroying wall Maria. I'll link the image in the first reply to this comment

jemmy

I was one of the people shocked too. I knew almost nothing about AOT but I vividly remember the day this episode dropped. It was trending everywhere on Twitter

GreetswithJudgement

The first 20 minutes of The final chapter Part 1 of AOT and The Eclipse are cemented as my top 2 favorite moments in all of visual media.

Jimmy

This show reminds me of the WWE 😏

Pudding

This season is definitely the most juicyy, I'm so excited!!!

Alex Ramirez

The next batch of 3 episodes is gonna be wild

Marcus

the outro song hits so hard on a rewatch holy fuck

Charybdis

AOT is what got me into anime over a decade ago and having watched hundreds of them over the years, it still remains my favorite to this day. I was in middle school then and am well into my 20s now. Watching the story unfold throughout all this time was a profound experience, and every rewatch just solidifies my belief that this is the greatest anime ever made. There will never be another Attack On Titan. Ever.

Zu

Get our goat McKay his own mic 🗣️

Zu

Eren intentionally triggering his grandfather's ptsd by asking him about his regrets knowing what happened is crazy work lmao

GooberM

season 4 episode 5 is literally my favorite episode of this anime, its so good

Kite

"The speech is crazy" insane save 😂

Zu

Also peak reaction from the girls like always especially to the Eren reveal cuz that shit had me shook too

Rick Loma

No more breaking bad?

H

It’s fun to watch people go like “how could I not be sure it’s Eren” Things are very obvious when you know but you wouldn’t realise those things in first watch. What a great show!

Spencer

No, they made a post about it recently.

a_daichi

Declaration of War ep drop was actually so insane. Can’t wait to get chills again!

a_daichi

Falco is my child btw

Kiyoh

insane lock-in by cannon at 23:28 lmaoo

Thelcia

ITS 2 AM BEI IM ACREAMINGGFGGG

kiiturii

the more I watch "The declaration of war" the more genius I realize it is. Such an amazingly constructed episode, just wow

JeanJean

I think Eren's grandfather IS actually a doctor there but he just has episodes sometimes. Could be wrong though. Such a great bunch of episodes, can't wait for the rest. Kinda prefer the manga though for this moment. But still amazing.

hman70

I agree. Or it’s some sort of situation where he’s a part time patient. Because we saw him free and able to welcome Zeke home from war in the internment zone so he’s not at the hospital 24/7

kiiturii

IMAGINE what goes through Erens mind when this man sits down next to him and introduces himself as his Grandpa. Eren had to lock tf in to hold that poker face lmao

Sickleweed

I love that the ladies didn't recognize/weren't sure about "Kruger" cuz it made the reveal 10x more satisfying! Love their reactions! Friday's gonna be amazing!

Chrissy

Them not realizing it was Eren for so long was making me go crazy 😂😂

jblakk

Brig mentioned something that is related to a theory of mine. Its never confirmed or mentioned so I dont think its a spoiler. But SPOILER WARNING JUST IN CASE. The big examples are Reiner and Bert being so adult like yet being kids in titan forms, but another example is Erens titan having long hair just like Eren eventually has. I think titan forms take shape of a characters final form through p**hs, "it" would know how to design you as your future self. Thats my headcanon at the very least.

Max

“Oh he’s just talking to him on the bench” lmao the S-Tier save 💀

jemmy

cant wait for fridayyyy

Almeida

This dialog between Eren and Reiner is one of the most important in the show. It wasn't because they were brainwashed, or because the thought people from the other side were devils. It was simply because they wanted to do it for personal reasons. They are the same

Suja Khan

At least they can’t say Eldians attacked first cause Eren attacked AFTER the declaration of war lol

S Moonchild⁷

I think girls reaction to Eren is better than all other reactions, even Armored Colossal reveal haha. Riley's face was amazing. When I watched it I clocked that it was Eren because of his voice. So distinctive. About Tybers, Basically King Fritz left them to watch over people. They had all the information for a century, seeing the truth behind Eldians, behind King's false promise to destroy the world and they did nothing to stop Eldian hate. While their family was praised for saving the world. Through memories Tyber family knows the truth, that this founding power can't be used for bad by Royal family and can't be accessed by non-royals to cause harm. But then these two 16 year olds Reiner and Berthold come saying that random dude from island used the Founding titan power. For Reiner it was normal, like yeah he is the founding titan. But Tyber knows, some random can't do that. Who is this Eren guy, that can use power and is not affected by the king. So in Willy Tyber's eyes Eren is indeed the greatest threat, the biggest unknown. Plus he hates the warriors and can destroy the world. Willy thinks he is doing the world a favor. I loved how Eren was patient listening to Willy and only decided to act when the war was declared, like Okay I am making the First move. Reiner's suicidal actions break my heart every time. Imagine how messed up you should be to sacrifice not only your life, but to know that your nation will probably lose this Armored titan power. He was ready to let it all go.

Hector

In war their is no "good guys" just who evil you support

Hector

The anxiety of not wanting the girls to figure out who Eren was before the reveal 😭😭😭

Hector

This has to be the greatest fiction ever made... Not my top 1 one but definitely the greatest

Max

Ryley with the absolute cinema pose at 45:35 is iconic

Cannon Andrus

Arguably the best stretch of the show

Cannon Andrus

How is it not 1 bruh 😭😭😭

Kiyoh

100% I would have cracked bro gs 😭

dimitris athanasiou

For Brig's qusetion in regards to Zeke not coming with them, it's explained in a manga panel (somewhere in the mid 90s in terms of chapters iirc) that they left some behind so Marley doesn't literally send all their Titan shifters on an indefinite mission. Kinda makes sense tbh and I think you can surmise that as well, it would be silly to send them all away and leave your military on the continent with nothing. The Willy/Magath conversations are also very interesting and need to be understood. *Especially* the discussion that's coming up soon in the next episode, it's pivotal. Also, Eren's "I'm the same as you" full meaning won't be understood till later for the girls. But the reason it's absolutely brilliant is because even on a first watch, you have "half" of that line's meaning unlocked, i.e., they are the same because they're attacking each other's home for their "unavoidable" mission. But curiously, once Reiner breaks down and admits to his selfishness and own fault after Eren's prodding, Eren says "Like I thought... I'm the same as you". Food for thought, although that piece of the puzzle will be complete later. Also also, that parallel with the old man who hanged himself and Reiner is awesome. "He wanted to be judged" because he left 3 kids behind, like Reiner left 3 kids behind himself (he got Marcel killed, Bertholdt was eaten and Annie is still on Paradis). He alone returned, and the weight of *everything* that has happened is too much. He can't trust himself to judge himself, nor does he think he is deserving of that introspection/healing. And the only way for his defense mechanisms, alter egos, masks, depression etc to finally go away so he can begin healing is for those who believe he has wronged to judge him first with no excuses. And that is what we saw Reiner want here, and there might just be more of it later down the line

Pham Hung

"Why does Annie look so sad?" What an insane observation. That's another detail I didn't pick up. Damn this show attention to detail is insane. Re: Why didn't Zeke and Pieck join the Paradis operation? Because that would be putting all your eggs in a single basket right in the middle of enemy territory, I don't think there were any other wars that Marley was engaged in during that time, but it is still a global superpower. Plus, Marley knows Zeke is special and is the one titan they cannot afford to lose. They have Zeke and Pieck on reserve just in case.

njnets123

Why am I crying in the club right now

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

My voice hasn't been this hoarse since the episode of Reiner telling Eren that he and Bernard are titans. Also this hairstyle does not fit Eren😏

Charybdis

I think it suits him perfectly tbh

Ladnon

NEED

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I thought for sure they would notice since the guys heads were turning around viciously every two seconds

Chrissy

I can’t wait for these all these episodes coming up. I feel like that’s when really good discussions can be had. And I’m curious to hear the girls opinions and how the boys feel this second time around. Personally, up to this point I’m feeling pretty much exactly how I felt my very first time watching. Obviously with more hindsight and what not, and I appreciate some things and characters more. But I definitely still hold the same opinions regarding this whole war ordeal. Can’t wait to be able to discuss it all in the comments with everyone and hear the Gek’s thoughts!

njnets123

Friday will be Absolute Cinema Gek

Sean Carroll

Season 4 ep 12-22 for me. Peak after peak

a_daichi

long live daddy daichi

EezzyFeezyCash

i feel like hes the one that has the most to say but enjoys his friends reaction to much 🤣

S Moonchild⁷

Ohh never saw the “leaving 3 children behind” parallel. Always thought the 3 kids comment was made because Berthold stole this story and they pretended to be 3 lost children and that’s how they were documented. That’s how Hange knew they are connected, they had the same place as their address

Teraofmarcus

The reaction of saying "no" to watching more was like us watching when it was airing

Hector

this show you could debate it's critically better but One Piece just does it more for me, you will understand soon enough 🙏🏻

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I swear I recognized Eren from the first words he spoke to Falco. I'm quite sure I could pick out Eren even out of all the other characters Yuki Kaji voices🥶(I am sigma)

Hector

😈

EezzyFeezyCash

they needed a second watch to grasp the whole thing. I just know the Armin-Eren Final part 2 scene gonna hit hard

TTB

Most ppl didn’t focus on this but the dialogue with Reiner when he said “no Eren your wrong I did it so I can be a hero” is so important to Eren’s character it’s a direct parallel to not only the attack on the walls in ep1 and Marley attack but it layers Eren’s & Reiner’s writing on both hides behind justifications to mask behind their selfish desires it goes much much deeper then what I just said.

6

Cannon you're goated.

JulioLG

Me too. Why? - The voice - The Kruger name (the owl, dont remember if this is revealed in the first ep or the second one). - The "their freedom taken away" (we know who the freedom maniac is) - The "keep moving forward" just after they showed you Reiner minutes ago telling it to Eren in the flashback. - The eye.

6

wow my comment was removed by someone

Hayden Ton

i wonder if the girls realize all the times they showed eren earlier, or if they realize that eren was talking to his grandpa. Also definetly gotta show them the scene at the end of ep 1 when they show *you know who*

Sweede TW

The bench scene at the end of ep3 was killing me XD

Jmann

I’m so dead watching all your faces and waiting for the girls to realize that it’s eren talking to falco 😭😂

JulioLG

Extremely difficult for me to order them, but: s3 16-18 s4 19-21 s4 5-7 3 holy trinities of writing, insanely well prepared plot twists and overall story climax handled perfectly IMO.

DontCare JustDont

Dude, from the message in code about the full demolition being needed, some pillars being usable, but overall infested with rats - to the coded message about how the foreign clan "knows how courageous" tybur is because theyre the rats and know he knows hes sacrificing himself - to tybur quoting "because i was born into this world" as a last ditch effort to get Eren to chill (i think thats right but who knows) ep 5 is a masterpiece

Tony Garcia

The next batch is going to go CRAZYYYYYY. Can’t wait fr

JulioLG

I feel that not much reactors get the "I was born into this world" line, and is one of the most important quotes in the show, from litle Eren hearing Carla say it to Shadis (and his face when he hears it, awesome), here from Willy and in the future, and always so meaningful and in the right moments, just genious writing.

TheSauceGuy

it'd be cool to just show them all of those foreshadowing moments once they've finished

Terry C

I hope you all have read the first chapter of the manga because it ties in so good with the end of season 4 which for some reason the anime left out.

6

"just who evil you support" Thank you for this easy to understand sentence (sarcasm).

Juanpa_20

Good catch i honestly only saw the eren and reiner parallel but damn ur spot on with the falco and willy one as well🤣🤣

Imz

Retweet! Get McKay a mic asap please

Juanpa_20

I mean he it represents how much he's been suffering with internal thoughts and what he's gonna do in thr future , he let's himself go, the smile he once had and hopefull attitude he had just out the window so yeah it's not him but represents how he looses himself

Jude

As an OP glazer I do think AOT is an objectively better show in terms of writing and definitely pacing but damn I can't wait for some of the peak moments, fights, and revelations in one piece

Juanpa_20

Damn this is my 3rd rewatch and never picked up on the Reiner and the villagers parallel jeez good catch 😅

Zu

Cannon casually hitting a nat 20 on that persuasion attempt when Bradlynn and Eve asked if they should know who that was on the bench and then smirking like crazy after is a top 10 gek moment lmaooo

lyss

where? on discord? and what did it say

Pham Hung

One character that I've learn to appreciate much more this watch is actually Magath. He is clearly somewhat disgusted with Willy and the Tyburs, who are complicit in the oppression against the Eldians. However, his snide remarks are just that because he is still a military commander, ultimately at the mercy of the Tyburs. The Tyburs are also such an interesting bunch because I don't think they actively participated in the discrimination and oppression of their own people. Still, they're 100% passive, and because they are technically "in-charge," their allowing it to happen is disgusting - but their hands-off approach is what makes them well-respected in the world in the first place. I think it's an allegory for real-life ultra-rich and influential families that transcend nationality or race, yet paradoxically remain "powerless" in the sense that they benefit from everything, including war, so they aren't compelled to change anything.

Dakota

Man this season is so crazy. I didn't start watching AoT until this season came out. Binged the first 3 seasons, then caught up to watch this. Unreal. The amount of info and intrigue in this season... sheesh.

Artemipsyche

Okay but Riley is always cooking with her theories. Some of the stuff she pulls out of nowhere is 🤯

Poe

"he's just talking to him on the bench"

Leo

Hail Eren Jaeger

TheSauceGuy

It is kind of odd that they didn't go back for the Jaw after Marcel was eaten. Sure, if they ate Ymir, there'd be one less titan as one of them would have the Jaw's power, but it could always be passed on later to someone else. Maybe there would be better options than eating her, but I can't think of any that would be feasible, especially for children; still, It's a much bigger risk just leaving the power there.

TheSauceGuy

I cannot believe they didn't realize it was Eren hahaha

ShadowCat

Omg, Cannon, your "he's just talking to him on the bench" killed me 🤣 and they just rolled with it. It made me think of John Mulaney's "I was over on the bench" joke lol Also, Cannon and Carters reactions on this rewatch is almost as good as the original watch 😂 the side eyes and suppressed emotions to not spoil it for the girls is torture lol But damn, I am SO ready for the next round of episodes 💀

Vallll

Bertholdt’s sleeping position here looks like the Hanged Man from the tarot cards. The Hanged Man symbolizes surrender, letting go, and seeing things from a new perspective. It’s about pausing to reflect and gaining insight. Kinda fits Bertholdt — always quiet, hanging back, caught in that space between action and hesitation.

Ron Jackson Jr

Cannon that was smooth with you for not telling them who that was on the bench

Pham Hung

Headcannon is that Marley has strict protocol about Warriors having more than one titan (accumulation of power). Breaking protocol means their family’s cooked. Going back for Ymir would mean returning to Marley to hand her off or at least hand her off at the port and they don’t want to risk being marked as failures.

Vextipher

Dude, the side glances at the camera from y'all when certain scenes appear gives me life.

hman70

Try to find chapter 96 online if you can it’s available for free in a few places, quality of translation may vary

Vallll

When Falco passed Gabi, there’s a tight shot of Reiner and Colt, both are shocked. Reiner is probably thinking —yes, Falco, save Gabi, while Colt is thinking — no way Falco is becoming the armor titan! Colt was the one hyping Gabi up in the train, he’s like the Marcel for Porco. And when he said Falco will never surpass Gabi, there’s a drop of sweat on his face. Even the side characters get so much thought, that’s why Isayama is the GOAT.

jessiefungirl

so glad brig pointed out the kakashi/willy va, it was bugging me 2 seconds before 😂

Nicole Dua

I’ve watched a ton of AOT reactions and rewatches but I LOVE this one and how the rewatchers handled this to help the girls’ experience on top of it!! So so good I can’t wait for the next batch

TheSauceGuy

What a legendary episode...

TheSauceGuy

Am I crazy for preferring Eren's titan scream from the dub? I'd prefer if it was less muffled, but it sounds so much more demonic. I feel like it just fits Eren better imo. The sub's scream isn't bad, but I feel like any dude can imitate it.

jessiefungirl

11/10 reaction from the girls, W gaslight Cannon

Hunter Snider

I respect your headcanon, and now have made it mine as well lol

Ian

the reiner scene is even crazier when you realize that the last time Reiner saw eren, the scouts knew nothing of the outside world or marley, and not here he is just sitting in wait in his own home town.

Branflakes

LMAO I just finished episode 3, you guys are hilarious. "it was just a crazy speech." Good shit guys.

Holden

Willy Tybur's voice actor is Kakashi and also the Claw Boss from Mob

TheSauceGuy

I easily recognize Floch, Connie, and Falco's voice actors as well, but especially Floch for some reason.

TheSauceGuy

he looks like his father, so it definitely suits him

TheSauceGuy

That's actually so cool.

TheSauceGuy

it's built up luck from him hitting those double critical failures on stream that one time during BG3 lmao

kuza

they really didnt recognize erens VA 😭

TheSauceGuy

It's interesting how Willy delivered his speech. He started by retelling the false history that the majority of the world believes, and then revealed the true story to everyone. In doing this, he humanized King Fritz (another Eldian) to a degree that the crowd had never seen before. Right after humanizing the Eldians within the walls by expressing that King Fritz just wanted them to live in a brief peace, he warns the crowd of a usurper who poses a risk to everyone. He then uses the crowd's fear and existing prejudice to his advantage to refer to all the Eldians on the island as devils and declare war on the island. He does this right after somewhat humanizing them lol.

Matt Haloostock

The girls reaction when they found out it was in fact Eren is probably the greatest moment in this series lmao. I'm glad the guys were able to play it down since the girls didn't pick up on it initially.

kuza

the facial expressions from the geks are killing me 😭😭😭

Safaricat

Also the moments that they didn't notice before but are starting to piece together now.

kuza

REAL PEAK

Safaricat

I always think it's crazy that Willy's solution to the Eren problem is to still go and eliminate the island devils..... like you just said the king wanted peace have you ever thought maybee just maybe the people on the island do as well? like maybe if you just consider them an equal nation they'd just not stomp you?

Jamin

RAHHHH

Im Lexius

yeah this show is unreal, the rewatch has been so good for me

Dani G

I have always loved Reiner, but these episodes made me absolutely adore him. His whole backstory breaks my heart and I will defend him with my life. I love all the warriors. What they did was obviously ethically unforgivable, but they were indoctrinated child soldiers fighting for their freedom.

Dani G

Tybur is definitely giving Lestat vibes. 😂

Dani G

I never loved a character on the opposing side so fast as I did Falco. He’s just such a sweetheart.

Wave

This season is too peak

Dani G

Cannon just dying trying to keep from saying anything and Carter continually looking over at the girls for their reactions. 😂😂😂

Dani G

Riley’s reaction to Eren’s reveal has me cracking up 😂😂😂

Juanca

It never gets old. What a piece of art !

Kim 555

The next drop is gonna be DIABOLICAL

Mariam

Not sure if this was already mentioned but Bert's odd sleeping position resembles a Tarot card called The Hanged Man. This card depicts an old method of punishment used for traitors in Italy and symbolises treason as well as martyrdom and sacrifice. There's a parallel between the cards meaning and his betrayal of humanity inside the walls as well as the sacrifices he had to make as a warrior. This is also a reference to the man who hung himself that Bert keeps dreaming about. Bert also used this mans story way back in season 1 episode 3 when Eren was asking him and Reiner about where they came from and what they were doing when the wall came down. Another name for this card is also 'the traitor'.

Dani G

This arc is sooo good! However, for me, nothing beats 19-21. Mindblowing.

Dani G

It is by far my number one. I have yet to see anything even come close to it. I do really love One Piece though.

Dani G

Girl, it’s been a year and a half, and my heart is still broken by this show. I will never heal.

Dani G

I love Return to Shiganshina, but all of season four is what elevates the story to heights far beyond already exceptional quality. Season four was when I was like..this might be the greatest piece of fiction I’ve ever seen.

Dani G

Lol same! Eve is so expressive and has so many thoughts that I align with. All three of the girls are locked in and following the story beautifully.

Dani G

That was so Erwin-coded 😂

Dani G

The quiet fanboying from our former “anime haters” is just the cherry on top of this rewatch. 😂

Dani G

“Until I destroy my enemies.” Chills. Every. Damn. Time. Eren Yeager is truly my favorite character in any medium of fiction.

eve richards

omg how did we not notice the boys looks 💀

hman70

First L take in a while Sauce Guy, the dub scream is so repulsive to me it sounds like a child’s imitation of what a giant monster screaming sounds like 😂🥴

rayman

it’s because Paradis has a worldwide nuke when no one else does or has a counter, and with the attack on the walls gave the holder of the nuke a reason to use it on the world. he sees it as they need to take him out asap before he definitely uses it soon regardless of what they do

𝓓𝓪𝓷𝓪

The way I was TWEAKING when they didn't notice it was eren the whole time HAHAHSHAHAHH

WhynefineT

what wdym im confused

hugoruix

these episodes have some of the best dialog I've seen

Mahti

thank god the boys we're stressing me out

Mahti

Erens titan scream is the biggest reason for why the dub is unwatchable

Anaxagoras

Also it's still in Marley's interest to get the Founding Titan. They would use it for their arsenal as they are catching up to other countries military tech. General Calvi and Magath talked about it a bit in Ep 2

Anaxagoras

Their reaction when they realized it was Eren was so good!

Chuck Norris

You guys should add The Prestige to your movie list. maybe a Nolan Marathon before his new movie comes out

jrnoodles

Thanks GeksDeluxe! Carter's face during this entire rewatch just says PEAK. I love the scene between Reiner and Eren. Reiner is having an existential crisis. This rewatch really made me appreciate AOT more. It's so well written.

Miitei

The reaction to Eren's reveal was so good, I knew Eve had noticed something so I was expecting for the confirmation to come

Dwob

lovedddddd this reaction xD so satisfying to see the shock lmaooo

Hector

One piece gets my emotions out more and I do like the concept of the story more as well, if the ending of one piece it's satisfying it will definitely be better than AOT but right now AOT objectively above

Zipzzty

Fun fact: When this episode aired, people got worried because "Declaration of War" was trending on twitter as a tag, and they thought war had broken out IRL

LuvStarburst

Seeing Carter and Cannons faces when shit goes down knowing that they were in that same spot as the girls once upon a time.

jared

Such a lush narrative; that recollection about the man who hung himself on paradis, and bertolt saying that he wanted to be judged; introducing the story incompletely at first, and then in full right before eren's confrontation with reiner in which it transpired that reiner too wanted the chance to own up to his guilt to the person he most deeply and personally wronged

jared

I forgot that he told them that story then, wow...crazy parallel with that tarot card!!

jared

That's so true and interesting and well expressed!!

jared

Hear hear!! Wow I never noticed some of these details!!

jared

Love John Mulaney great parallel haha

Kasumii_

I damn near screamed out of hype when the girls didn't realize who "Mr. Krueger" was, I just knew the reveal was gonna hit 10x harder because of it. Also I'm surprised nobody caught on to the name 'Krueger' which was The Owl, Eren Krueger's last name. Declaration Of War, what a damn episode, just start to finish the tensions are so damn high and the climax is absolutely perfect, definitely in the top 5 eps of the show in my opinion. I remember when I watched this ep while the show was airing and I went straight to Twitter and Reddit to see everyone's reactions and seen people on Twitter panicking over "Declaration Of War" trending thinking it was irl only to realize it was a bunch of anime fans gushing over an anime episode lmao, getting to watch this whole season at the same time as the rest of the world was a blessing of an experience.

6

what does "just who evil you support" mean? can you say that in a way that is clear?

jared

This is chilling thank you!!

dimitris athanasiou

You have misunderstood what is happening, a common misconception in the fandom. Willy has very specific goals and its not that cut and dry or simple. Pay attention to the scene with Magath in the cart at the beginning of 4x6, and then their other scenes again.

Thelcia

ALRIGHT GUYS, IM FINALLT BACK ABOUT 21 HOURS LATER —AND I CAN FINALLY WATCH THIS EPISODE. I was seriously barely holding myself back at 2AM when it dropped-

@hman70 I think the audio quality of the sub scream is better, but that goes for everything else in the sub as well, obviously. However, I'd say Eren's sub scream just sounds like Hulk; it reminds me of any other generic "big guy," if that makes sense lol. That sort of thing works more for Reiner, but when it comes to a little goblin/demon like Eren, I don't feel it works as well. I do wish the dub scream's audio quality were better; it has too many layers, which makes it feel muffled. After going back and listening, they could lower the pitch a little bit after clearing that up, and it'd sound better than the sub imo. I guess something in the middle would be better, if that makes sense.

I LOVE their love for Reiner 😭 I feel like that just goes to show how good their understanding of this show is cuz it’s so multifaceted (like how they said Eren attacking all these innocent ppl makes him just as bad) and it’s very easy to just look at things from one pov, our protagonist, but that just makes for a very boring understanding of the story imo

Nami Swannn

Watching the convo between Eren and Reiner while knowing the ending is so funny…what a bozo 😭

Melly

Seeing cannon constantly just shaking his head in disbelief and Carter silently losing it is hilarious! And the other geks always glancing over like YEP didn’t catch that the first time did you?? I was SHOCKED the girls didn’t think it was Eren but it made for a peak reaction lol. Reiner’s whole backstory telling and the way it transitions all the way to “to save humanity” always gives me CHILLS. The double meaning is insane and it would make such an interesting watch to immediately go back to season 1 with that perspective. Also it’s crazy seeing the vulnerable Reiner with Eren, you can completely tell he reverted back to his original insecurities.

Jenny D

What a great batch of episodes! I enjoyed the Reiner backstory and he and Eren are very similar. I did not know that Mr. Kruger was really Eren. I was shocked when I realized just like Riley was. The ending was epic! I had to resist the urge to watch more since my lunch ended and I had to get back to work. After I finish the last Mob Pyscho, I'm definitely watching the next AoT episode!

Hector

English my second language and no need to be sarcastic or go at someone for an opinion, if you got nothing good to say better not say it...

hman70

Did you have any thought about how he might have been related to The Owl Eren Kruger? That’s one detail I’m still stunned none of the girls brought up before or after the “official” reveal

OoBeRoN Yordanov

i loved the girls reactions when the realized this was Eren ( goated moment) i cant went for the next episodes.

Jenny D

Oh, wow, that didn't occur to me. I didn't remember his last name. That's interesting that he used it as his Alias.

hman70

Ahh understandable. It’s surprising to me that so many missed such a big tell but the show is so dense and especially season 4 has been throwing so much info and new names at the audience it’s bound to happen. That’s why the re-watches are so rewarding 🤠

Brady

Wait Eren is a titan?? 😱

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

I was silently applauding at that moment because my facial expression would have made it obvious 🙈

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

At first I was a little disappointed that girls didn't recognize Eren (on my first watch it all became obvious to me first by his voice, and then by the eye that appeared from his hair), but their reaction to Eren's reveal and Attack Titan's appearance was true peak! Riley’s bewildered “What” and then her totally flabbergasted face are literally my favorite part of this video! And boys did a great job to keep all cards close to their chest 👏👏👏

Dani G

They were not subtle.

Ollie

I loved that the girls didn't pick up on Eren being "Mr Kruger" because I also completely didn't figure it out and was like who tf is this. So when he actually properly reveals himself to Reiner my head was like 🤯🤯🤯 I felt like Falco probably does.

Ghosty

Willy Tybur is the same voice actor as kakashi if I recall correctly

Segen

The next three might be generational 😭😭 might be better then 16-17

jerry

Man 4x3 might be my favorite ep, just delving into the character of Reiner (who was already fascinating) showing how he became the tortured man he is in the present. When the Armored Titan first appeared to ram the gate he seemed a terrifying and focused being of pure destruction, to know that the person inside was just a kid wondering why he was still alive... man. The skyward cut from Bert and Reiner to Eren and Armin, "To Save Humanity," Reiner seeing Eren as himself and his suicide attempt being averted at the last minute by Falco, just a lot of good stuff. Also it's not really important because we know the characters' motivations, but I think Reiner was more right about what would happen to all of them if they returned to Marley. Even if both Bert and Annie pointed the finger at Reiner I don't think the brass would be too impressed that they all immediately abandoned the mission at the first setback. Which makes it even crazier that they were sent without a supervising officer of some kind. I can buy that they gave the Titans to kids (brainwashed child soldiers easier to control than adults I guess is the implication) but with no oversight or contact at all is a little harder to swallow.

Segen

Opinion 🤷‍♀️

TTB

Reiner’s identity crisis will alway be my favorite thing about him especially during his reveal of the armor titan, the “why is Marco getting eaten”, Reiner and Eren in the big tree convo in s2 all so good and adds so much depth to Reiner he truly thinks his a scout sometimes and contradicts himself. And when we learned that his true dream/desire was to become a hero all the details that not only parallels Eren but the main theme in AoT as well.

val

that's literally me rn haha

TTB

I hope it’s 3 episodes

Diego Alfaro

When does the new ep come in?

neko

Praying for a 3 episode drop 🙏

TTB

Yea as long as they drop 3 ep the wait is fine cuz those 3 ep are peak.

Chayma

Reiner will forever be my fav character with Annie and Armin

rri

same bradlynn (and cannon) i love reiner so much too

rri

i was actually praying that the girls wouldn’t realize it was eren so the reveal will be epic and i was not disappointed

rri

reiner’s backstory and “to save humanity” scene is so OP

rri

watching cannon and carter’s second reaction while not being able to react fully is so funny

rri

my girl eve always the first one to catch on things

rri

crazy how the girls didn’t recognise eren’s voice when cannon and carter did on their first watch lmao

rri

eren being in paradis wouldn’t hit too hard if you did not wait for the next season to drop for months lol. that’s why the eren reveal was so crazy bc nobody noticed a damn thing, even his voice bc it had been months.

rri

i swear the second rewatch of aot is like a whole new world that’s why it’s so fun watching cannon and carter’s reactions

Christian F

At the end of episode 3 when we see a close-up of Eren's face, the writers of the show did intend for you to recognize who it was. But the art style in this season is so different that most people didn't recognize them. That was completely unintended by the creators.

Gestrid

I kind of suspected it back when Falco fixed his armband, but I wasn't 100% certain until Eren and Falco talked on the bench.

Safaricat

okay just letting you all know, this is my opinion. i'm a person that would rather avoid conflict and opt for peace. With Paradis and Marley working together they could rule everything i always just want SOMEONE to make a decision that benefits humanity. i've read the manga multiple times and watched this show many many times i get what's going on i just like to believe things can be worked out with out war.

Safaricat

right? he's like "hey this is the actual history, BUT NOW THERE'S A CRAZY GUY AND SO WE GOTTA KILL EVERYONE. this crazy guy is probably mad at what we've done BUT WE CAN'T TURN BACK NOW!!" truly a well written manipulative speech for the masses a Marleyan could never

TheSauceGuy

Yoooo safaricat, long time no see. I think it's interesting how he weaponized people's fear.

Elijah Kim

"are we suppose to know who this is" "...no" 10/10 gaslighting

Dee

made it more ominous

Avital Lockhart

Why tf do people need to see his face to recognize him? IT’S THE SAME VOICE! You’ve heard that tone and intonation for way too long to miss it. Sure, I get that the scene was intentionally vague - to plant doubt.. But once you see that GREEN EYE in the final shot? Come on. you’re supposed to be a thousand percent sure!

Thomas Holman

The ladies finding out Kruger is Erin is probably my favorite reaction of the rewatch so far! Lol! Priceless

Andy tee

I've noticed after watching a lot of reactions that a lot of people who watch anime in japanese don't actually listen to the voices because they're so busy reading the subs. Especially those who dont usually watch foreign language shows. I guess listening at the same time is a learned skill.

Chlo

i immediately knew when i first watched because of the voice lol. I would never mistake that voice !!
