I look back on this arc so fondly. I watched this when it first dropped and my teenage brain didn't appreciate the time it took to flesh out the rest of Class 1-A. Now looking back, it's one of my favorite mini arcs.

People tend to compare Mirio and Deku but Mirio wasn't on Deku's level in his first year. He was actually really behind his classmates. It took time to master his quirk. Give Deku the same courtesy. Especially caus Deku's quirk is brand new to him. He got his 10 years later than everyone else

I really do like this little arc, it’s fun and pretty wholesome, which is needed after the last arc. Gentle Criminal and La Brava are both very likeable villain characters in my opinion but man we are so close to THE episode of the season, one of the most hype episodes in the whole series. Also my favs are almost here….Can’t wait till next week

Eri is so adorable, i love her continued inclusion in the story. I love when Koda comes onscreen now, my eyes used to roll to the back of my head seeing him, but watching your guys reaction is hilarious haha. I agree with Jack fully that Mirio with All Might's power would be the incredible. Everyone always has to get defensive about Deku if you say that. I get a little tired of everyone having same-think and wanting to have a consensus about what we think of Deku or Gentle Criminal. I love diversity of opinion.

Of course it’s my 🐐 Cannon giving Gentle a chance, great reaction Geks! 55:16 I didn't realize the 3 that got aura blasted directly got knocked out afterwards 🤣 I feel everyone universally starts off disliking the Gentle introduction after the peak of the Chisaki arc then the more mid tier kids episodes and the Aoyama episode, but by the end of it they tend to appreciate it. Also, wanted to add that Gentle is 32 and La Brava is 22

Is this a slice of life arc? Yes. Is it important for the story and character development? YES. By this moment on my first watch Horikoshi's writing had gained my trust, and IMO it didn't fail. Do we miss active-hero All Might? ALWAYS. Also, and like many others have posted, stop being freaking hindsight merchants and let the geks be surprised by new characters and character arcs without going "oh iz my goat oh you will love it youll zee".

It's admittedly been a while since we've had a school arc. The last school arc was technically the Licensing Exam Arc (second half of season 3), and that was a bunch of fights. The school arc before that was the Final Exam Arc (the arc where Bakugo and Deku fought All Might; last few episodes of season 2).

It's a big breather that sets up some of the relationships for future development, and also offers a different, more wholesome change of pace from the usual boom boom boom fights. It's refreshing in a sense. And I'm sure you'll enjoy the fun and maybe hate the antagonist (like I did JHBHEBQJBw) quite a bit. Enjoy yourselves Geks!!

This is definitely the most filler feeling arc in the whole show imo, I don't mind it though since I liked Jiro before this arc and it kinda puts her in the spotlight and I'm never one to hate on slice of life arcs, I mean one of my top 3 anime is literally a romance slice of life, but yeah Jack put it pretty well, it kinda feels like it's here to just let some time pass for things to happen in the background like letting the villains do some behind the scenes stuff, it's also just another one of those arcs that makes you like Class 1-A more and it's nice seeing Eri slowly coming out of her shell.

It's always great to see the gradual but steady scale up of our MC's power level. The start being slow is the most realistic part of Izuku's training. Because it's only been less than a year since he entered high school. It's already impressive how much he's improved!

I definitely feel your pain on some kids being rude and disrespectful. Last summer the Milkshake truck was doing free milkshakes near my work and during lunch my friend and I waited in line for one and all of a sudden a bunch of kids show up and try to cut the line because they knew the girl in line ahead of us. I was pissed because we'd already waited a half hour and I told them the line started back there and some got an attitude but went to the back of the line, but others still cut. The woman who owns the truck had to tell them they couldn't just cut the line which I appreciated.

Its not a super exciting ARC, but its a nice little palate cleanser. I'm nor big on the Gentle Hero. I feel like he's kinda random. Aoyama was definitely freaking me out. Him looking in the window was creepy. If he wanted to talk to Deku he should have just confided in him not be all creepy.

If it was constantly fights after fights, we'd get numb to action. But we get emotional at some scenes because we get to know more about the characters and what they care for. And we feel strongly during fights because of the anticipation.

This arc definitely has the most filler vibes, but it’s a nice breather after how dark and intense the last arc was. The show can’t be constant chaos or else the big moments wouldn’t feel the same yk? If you like slice-of-life stuff there’s a lot to enjoy. I think it gets underrated for what it brings to the pacing and characters.

Deku and Lemillion are such similar characters. They both represent true heroism, stand for the same ideals, and share the same goal of saving people with a smile. The only real difference is where they are in their journeys. One had years to master his quirk, while the other is just getting started. Deku’s further ahead in his first year of high school than Lemillion was in his. I think people forget this because we meet Lemillion at his peak, a level Deku is still working toward. I’m glad you guys agree he’s in a good spot, but continue to trust the journey!

This arc is definitely on the slice of life side but try to enjoy the best of it (if you guys can haha) it's meant to be fun and not taken too seriously, shonen's tend to do breather arcs coming off of peaks and this is one of them. It also shines in it's own way imo but understandably not everyone's favourite :)

SPOILER ALERT Gentle is not really supposed to be likeable from the start. He is supposed to be silly and kinda stupid, but you grow to like him. I did not hate him, but I did not really care for him when he first showed up, now he is one of my favorite characters.

@Nat Li I can't tell if this is meant to berate me or agree with my opinion about hindsight merchants being annoying. Assuming it's the former, I don't believe I've hyped up anything regarding future episodes? I was simply summarising my thoughts about the direction this arc is taking (which they already know is a mish mash of slice of life and more conflict). They also agreed that it's a different change of pace from the non stop action we've been having since the end of S3, so I'm not quite sure what I've spoiled. However, if it's the latter, then I'm glad we can agree!

I also don't condone hyping up a specific episode, it usually kills the surprise factor. People need to learn to have some self control with what they comment, they can definitely express their excitement for the season but imo theres really no need to hype SPECIFIC episodes On the other hand, to be fair -- Cannon did mention one time that he got annoyed that he was eating food during a hype moment (i forgot which one) and he wasnt locked in since he "didnt know peak was about to happen." Thats why Brigg would sometimes chime in and tell the geks to "lock in" during specific times when he felt like they werent paying that much attention since they didnt know whats coming up. So that made me question my opinion on this, but overall, its still better to go in blind with any reaction
