Speaking of Buggy, I believe Oda did once say smth about how he could be incredibly strong if he trained 😭 so basically a df on its own doesn’t make you strong, the way you use it and train it does. And about McKay’s point, the fruits def aren’t grounded, even in universe there’s lots of mystic to them. This point comes up plenty of times so it’s honestly great to ask questions and ponder about them. Kuma’s fruit being named repel does make more sense in English but in Japanese it’s a play on words due to his name meaning “Bear”.

Just a little appreciation post for the Geks, watching One Piece knowing that there are 1000+ episodes is a Goliath of a task; add the slower pacing of the earlier archs, some not so amazing animation and fights and it wouldn’t be unreasonable for anyone to think, hey this isn’t something I wanna dedicate 100s of hours of my life to. So the fact that you four have been so amazing at powering through and providing us with content day in and day out does not go unnoticed and though appreciation should be vocalized more often, I hope you know how much this community adores you and all that you’ve done thus far. With that said, what’s to come in the next archs made many of us come to realize what we were witnessing and had/have the privilege of reading/and or watching is one of the greatest stories ever told. So to say the least, I hope you enjoy every second of this journey and thank you for all that you do for this community. 🫶🏼

So kuma’s fruit is basically repel fruit however it comes from the fact that paws especially bear paws ( bear in Japanese is kuma) are specifically used to repel/absorb impacts, this idea is then taken and magnified into that it can repel/absorb absolutely anything, like how kuma repelled luffy’s pain out of the body, so the idea of the fruit isnt arbitrary to kuma however the fruit itself is made for kuma ie bear taking into that account unlike how other fruits have no relation to the user bear and paws go hand in hand.

After dying, idk how long it took for his soul to find his body but it was long enough for his body to decompose. The ships rudder was broken so he then spent the next 50 drifting in the Florian Triangle, lost and unable to get out. Moria stole his shadow 5 years ago

When we first met Brook i think around ep 338 he told the straw hats the rudder of his ship was broken which left him drifting for decades. idk if it was the currents that kept him in the florian triangle but he couldn't really choose where to go with a broken rudder. I'm also kinda curious how he learned he could run on water maybe he got tired of just wandering aimlessly and just tried it out one day.

You guys are more active in the comments than most reactors, which is awesome, but while 99% of the fandom is great, all it takes is one basement-dweller who gets a kick out of spoiling. I know this won’t be a popular take, so sorry in advance and I really do love this channel. But here’s the thing: some reactors have mods on their channels, some don’t read comments at all, and some record 100+ episodes ahead specifically to avoid spoilers. With all due respect, you can’t rely on the comment section for spoiler safety. Most people aren’t deeply involved in the community, they’re just watching for fun. They’ll spam “nothing happened” or other spoilery stuff because they think it’s funny or it makes them feel included. At the end of the day it’s totally the channel’s responsibility to avoid spoilers. You can’t really expect every viewer to self-police. This whole civil war in the comments blaming viewers is kinda ridiculous, not because your intentions are bad, but because the expectations just aren’t realistic

Impel down is not in Enies Lobby, it’s just connected to Enies lobby via a sea route behind the Enies lobby gates of justice, the sea route also goes to Marine HQ as well, they are 3 seperate locations in different areas but in one region of sea controlled by the government. It will be clearly explained later on but just wanted to clarify the information we’ve already gotten. Also Impel down is underwater, that’s already been mentioned in water 7, don’t worry Jack haha.

There’s lots of important narrative stuff in the live action that the anime hasn’t reached yet and I think it’s better if they’re introduced to it the original way through the anime(manga order). So after this next arc(ep 400 specifically) they’ll be good to go.

unfortunately I think that's just what happens the more a community grows you're gonna get a handful of people who just ruin it for everyone. whether intentionally or unintentionally people either get too excited and end up spoiling stuff or like to flaunt how in the know they are when they're hundreds of episodes ahead and have a lot more information. real gek fans wouldn't spoil/soft spoil and just appreciate the reactions from the geks without alluding to anything not just for the boys but anyone else who's a first time watcher.

To be fair, it's not really an understatement that Zoro might be the best one in the crew at taking damage. Luffy's the only one other than him that might be number one in that specific aspect of fighting. In fact I'd say that Zoro's and Luffy's levels of toughness are somewhat interchangeable. And before you just brush this off as Zoro fanboying, remember that Zoro was already on his last legs both in how much damage he had taken and how much energy he had left. Remember that Zoro told Kuma that his body wouldn't obey him anymore. And then he took on all of Luffy's pain and damage on top of that.

As far as I know it's the only movie Oda completely wrote the story for, which is why the characters appearing in it are canon (though not them meeting the Straw Hats). It's also placed right between TB and the next island. I think you would really appreciate a crew adventure, before we dive into the next arc 👀

I think Bink's sake is one of the only songs to make me feel sad and happy at the same time 😭 Also, Haylo and Kiss had the exact same problem with people hinting at things for future episodes or confirming theories the girls had in their discussions and they had to tell people to stop because it counts as spoilers!! It's nice that people are so lively and excited in the comments and want the guys to get hype too but it ends up somewhat dulling the reaction because the guys know what's coming or have certain expectations. I'm just supporting the comments asking for mods cause with one piece still airing and with the upcoming arcs i feel like it's gonna get worse.

There's never really any sort of mechanical deep dive into devil fruit mechanics, besides some vague lore. I think you gotta just suspend your disbelief cause it's a shonen at the end of the day, OP is never gonna have a very mechanically complex power system like some other shows

Great reaction as always. I really love Brooke, he just amuses me and I love how instantly he got along with Luffy. I think that witnessing Zoro and Sanji’s dedication to the crew made Brooke appreciate Luffy and them even more. Knowing he spent 50 years or so alone just drives home the slight moments of insanity that often escape him. Like what led the zombies to call him “The Humming Swordman” in the first place. @Austin Ridge If we were talking about real people, I’d agree that this is how one should act in such situations. But we’re talking about a script decision that could have been left out if there had been more knowledge of and respect for the source material If I remember correctly the whole point of that line was the joke that Nami asks for fish to treat an injury, while Luffy thinks she’s talking about food. It’s a weak joke, and it could have easily been avoided which wouldn’t create that dissonance with the original Luffy. I wouldn’t nitpick this scene if the rest of Luffy felt canon, but sadly in the live action what’s left of him is just the similar appearance

I think that was the point I saw how they explained this is it’s own version of one piece out of the manga/anime and when I thought of it tht way I enjoyed it way more. I love how they gave us things that we didn’t see in the manga. It made me excited to see what they sprinkled in and what could happen in the one piece world but didn’t in the manga. Oda overseeing it shows. I really appreciate it for how easy it is to watch a lot of new fans came with it.

Nah i feel the acting and special effects just look cringe. Anime (and im including ATLA too) just doesn’t translate well to LA, especially w special effects. It’s very easy to make the acting and dialogue cringey and for me the LA is that 🥲 this comes from someone who has op on a shared #1 spot and was actually excited at the idea when that first promo dropped

It's good in live action adaption standards, but over all by far the worst form of One Piece. I enjoyed it and give it a solid 7/10 so far. I'm happy it exists since it's brought One Piece so many new fans who continue with the manga or anime.
