sorry to the Jonathan fans out there, but I've felt absolutely zero attachment to him outside of his relationships with others: Will, Joyce, Nancy. (he's chill, he' s just extremely boring to me) So if someone HAD to go, it's Jonathan easily. All other main characters I love or at least enjoy. Love Will, so like Elle said, I'd feel terrible for him. Another Hot Take: I also agree with Jack at the end, because my 2nd choice would be Mike. Too successful of a ragebaiter sometimes

Lmao while I agree with Mike rage baiting I have a love/hate relationship for him especially how he deeply cares for El therefore I couldn’t dare see him get killed, it would suck for El and also it wouldn’t feel like ST without his character whether you like him or not he does bring something to the group and still has some type of aura within it. Johnathan was so great in s1 I often wonder what happened? I think he’ll bounce back s5 or maybe not lol ..for me it’s so hard to pick any of the characters to die cause I like something bout them all.

reallll, it’s really a love/hate. Out of the main kids group tho, he’s definitely my least fav. I love the others too much. Personally, I haven’t been attached to Mike as a viewer since s1 ns. 😭 I didn’t like how he treated Max in s2, and didn’t like disregard for his friends this season either (etc.). All that being said I do love the kid’s side of this season, and their coming-of-age storylines, Mike included. NOW Jonathan….. I got nothing to say about that man 😭 I feel bad cause he’s not like terrible or anything he’s just…… There. He maybe has cool / entertaining scenes from time to time but individual character-wise, they really haven’t given him much since s1 (+some s2)

Right, I did see that Mike shines s5. We get the old Mike back according to duffers brother. So we shall see. Personally he’s not my least and I wouldn’t kill him but there are other characters I deff would put above him. S2 I give Mike a pass just like I did Lucas s1. Both girls when through it with each boys. They were also babies and didn’t know how to handle their emotions, can’t really old that against them. If I can forgive Steve at his grown age, there was no reason to hold anything against baby Mike and Lucas😭

I agree with you peaches, I happen to like all the characters and I also have a love/hate relationship with mike. as I have mentioned before about Johnathan he would be the character I would say would have not the biggest effect on me if he were to die but I would still be a little upset about it. but again at the same time I don't want anyone to die, I like all the characters.

RIP Alexei, the saddest death in the series... The last thing he heard before being shot was "ha ha ha HA ha" lol. Also, suppressed guns (except maybe with subsonic ammo) are not even remotely quiet. Everyone at the fair would've heard that gunshot.

Johnathan imo doesn’t stand out as much as the others in the group and in this season he wasn’t useful. He’s only interesting because he’s Will Brother and Nancy’s boyfriend but his character is really bland. And for Mike, loved him season 1 and 2, then season 3 mehhh. I don’t know what to think about him at all

Essential doesn't make him interesting. He's "comedic" relief. I think Jonathan's dynamic of just trying to have a job and provide for his family was interesting. His frustrations with Nancy were valid in terms of her being privileged and not understanding his situation. At the same time, he tried to push aside the possibility that something serious was going on. Both he and Nancy take more of a backseat this season. Jonathan just feels more like a real person than Hopper.

I remember really resonating with the Steve/Robin scene when it came out. I loved how he didn’t question her, didn’t treat her differently, he just jumped back into their friendship and teased her as has been their relationship. I think it also speaks to his character to have done this after having been essentially rejected. Instead of lamenting his loss (and making that moment about himself), he recognized that Robin had also been vulnerable with him and that their friendship was something that was still important to him, that he valued her as a person in his life and wanted to continue to foster that connection. As someone who is queer, even nowadays coming out to friends can be a little nerve wracking. While it’s a part of who I am, meaning I want to share with friends so we can openly talk about our lives, I don’t want to be seen or treated differently. Tbh particularly now when queerness is being attacked in so many overt and more insidious ways, it is comforting to see a representation of allyship that just accepts it as part of one’s identity and moves on
