Jack, the tailed beasts gave Naruto their chakra awhile ago, back when Naruto and Kurama first joined together and entered the Tailed Beast Psyche plane with the other tailed beasts and jinchuriki (ep 329). Because Naruto had some of their chakra, he was able to extract those beasts from Obito. The only ones he couldn’t extract were the 1 tail and 8 tails, because they never gave him their chakra in the psyche plane.

STUDIO PIERROT DID SAKURA SO DIRTY HERE - Obito doesn’t even ask Sakura to destroy his rinnegan in the manga until *AFTER* Madara steals Kakashi’s eye. So in reality she had like half a second. The animation studio changed this, because they wanted to drag it out and add “anticipation”, but in doing so it just makes it seem like she took 10 minutes to make a decision. It was a terrible call

I do like this show for sure for some parts and some qualities, and it does have some peaks of anime like pain and rock Lee vs gaara. I don’t love much of what’s happened in the war arc and think that it’s kind of lost the plot, and I’m not a peaks guy anyways. I don’t like the whole reincarnation thing either, nor the sudden powerups that can literally stop Guy from dying and heal Kakashi’s eye. And on top of that, they tried to give Sakura a moment, only for her to say something that completely undermined all her progress regarding her feelings for Sasuke, she had so much potential and they destroyed her character

IMO, the show suffers being as dragged out as it was. Growing up watching it and enjoying each plot as it aired was a different experience and it was my intro to anime, but on rewatches it definitely feels like a big ordeal of a lot of mediocre episodes to get to some high tier anime, like this batch

limbo is a unique ability of his real rinnegan eyes and he never used it before because he didn’t have the chance as he was reanimated with fake eyes. Also, from what we have seen with other characters in previous arcs, they don’t have an explanation or a learning process for their eye powers, they just naturally get a feeling for how to use them. For example nagato crashing out after yahiko dies and naturally learns how to use his rinnegan, Sasuke using his mangekyou abilities vs bee, etc. It's been like that.

Yes but all those eye abilities had been set up and explained before, Sasuke's Amaterasu was explained thru itachi and how it was a mangekyo ability, pains abilities were explain in depth during his arc before we even watch him use it for the first time, Kamui was explained as a mangekyo ability and foreshadowed since like EP 40 of Shippuden there has been plenty of abilities that come out of nowhere but the show usually takes the time to go in depth on how they work and why people unlocked said abilities unlike limbo

In Sakura’s defence, it’s the studio’s stupid way of showing it. It was literally one panel in the manga - Óbito asked her to take out his eye, she pulled out the kunai, and then Madara showed up in the span of a few seconds. The studio made it seem like she’s hesitating for like 10 min.

Right here. It's literally super logical in the manga and the anime adaptation made her look bad. Naruto chapter 674. Obito yells "destroy my Rinnegan". Sakura says "I know". Sasuke slices Madara in half and Madara teleports. Sakura is mid-stabbing, Madara says "no you don't! and throws a chakra rod at her, so Obito teleports her away. It all happens very fast in the manga and that comes across, but on the anime it's so slow and long reaction shots, etc. many many of the issues you guys have with this show and pacing are often the fault of the studio adaptation.

There's some flashbacks in the manga, but the anime adds in so much more. You have to remember there was an episode every week for this era of anime and there wasn't even the concept of "seasons" or "the anime will resume after a few months". They just made the show non-stop and found ways to slow the pace for their workload

The sage gave them only marks on their hands. The rest of their powers awakened due to other circumstances. Naruto gained Six Paths Sage Mode, similar to Madara's (Six Paths chakra and black spheres), because he received the chakra of all the tailed beasts. He received the chakra from 2nd to 7th tails from them personally when he fought them, and Obito gave him pieces of the 1st and 8th tails' chakra, along with a new 9th tails. The combination of this chakra awakened Naruto's Six Paths Chakra Mode, similar to what Madara and Obito had. Sasuke, on the other hand, received chakra from Hashirama (Ashura's reincarnation) and possessed Indra's chakra, which allowed him to awaken the Rinnegan on the brink of death. Madara awakened it in the same way: despite transplanting part of Hashirama's body after the battle in the Final Valley, his Rinnegan only awakened when he was already close to death.

Here McKay - bc in the actual manga, she doesn’t take 10 minutes to make a decision. Studio Pierrot heavily dragged out the scene to the detriment of her character. In reality, Obito doesn’t ask her to destroy the Rinnegan until *AFTER* Madara steals Kakashi’s eye - so she never hesitates, she literally has half a second. Blame studio Pierrot for all their changes to Sasuke’s and sakura’s characters. Manga readers know better!!!!

The thing about Guy surviving that was VERY criticized when this episode released was that for YEARS, they've been telling us if anyone ever unleashed all 8 Gates, that person would die. That lack of payoff of that after years of hearing it was what sucked. Of course we all love Guy, but that moment where Naruto saves him kind of diminishes his sacrifice.

You can still preserve the length and major plot points without crapping on Guy. Spoilers ahead, Guy absolutely should have killed Madara there. He is a perfect representation of hard work over talent which is one of the core messages of Naruto. After Madara is dead you can have Kaguya appear out of his body and Naruto & Sasuke seal her the same way. Nothing else needs to change but still makes the ending much better. I would’ve still had Guy die though.

Getting back into this again after taking a pause years ago has been fun, but at times they do tend go drag on even if you skip the fillers. Some of the flashbacks are great, but some get repetitive or go on way too long. I still love the show though and watching the characters grow.
