REALLLY REALLY HOPE you guys can try one of the fallout games. Preferably new vegas or 3 (new vegas i had a choice). Fallout 4 is the most accessible though.

Some of the vaults in game are crazy like 1 woman 999 men/1 man 999 women. A vault full of rehabilitated drug addicts that after a certain amount of time a locked room would open that was full of drugs to see what would happen. A vault with a guy trapped full of clones of himself. A vault where every year one person had to be sacrificed or everyone would die, eventually 5 were left and 4 just offed themselves after discovering the truth that if they had just refused they would be fine.

fallout season 1 for me. fallout the show was original story and the last of us season 1 while good is an inferior way to to enjoy the story.

MAXIMUS Annoyed the Frick outta me the first time I watched this show BUT, my friend who is a long time Fallout player told me he has a trait. Idk if its called this or if has the description of this but he. "Fails upwards" So he is very dumb, EVERY decision he makes is the worst option yet he will get it done somehow and end up in a better position then when he started. Every character has a character sheet as well with Lucy. She legit reads you her sheet at the start of the show, what she excels at and practices. The Ghoul is the perspective of a player almost who has played the games a lot and knows the ins and outs of the wasteland and Lucy is the newbie.

Maximus prioritized survival over honor but after meeting Lucy he's been more vulnerable and open to human connection. Love to see his growth and I credit Lucy and her golden rule for that. I think they're perfect for each other :)

The writers haven’t fixed Maximus in this episode IMO, but I feel they are definitely on the right track. What I really don’t want is for Maximus revert to bad choices if he doesn’t get Lucy, he needs to be good even if they don’t end up together. I wouldn’t want him to turn like the Ghoul, even though Cooper/Ghoul is my favourite character in both timeline.

i have a hard time comparing the last of us and fallout much tbh cuz their tones r so incredibly different - as a plus for each side though i think theres really something to be said for how fallout made its own original story so intricate, but also how incredibly well the last of us recreates so many shots from the gameplay - i say this as someone who never played either of any of the games myself beforehand, but both really feel like quite the labor of love with their attention to detail in differing aspects

This was a really good watch. I kind of dismissed watching Fallout as I was familiar with the games. Didn't realise it was an original story. I feel like there are a lot of western shows yall have slept on: Succession, The Penguin, Westworld (early seasons), White Lotus (Ghoul guy features in that too). Some real bangers out there just waiting for you to witness.

Maximus is a hot mess and I love how much I can’t stand his ass. I like these kind of shows. Overtop like The Boys but keeps the mystery like Severance. It also feels and looks a lot like the series, Twisted Metal. I shall watch after work.

I think there's a good chance he is gonna get promoted and end up with a lot of power. He is gonna try to use that power to do good, but ends up screwing up a lot somehow.

You know, I really hated Maximus on my first watch but now, I mean you have to consider he's been on the surface his entire life. Compared to other people from the surface his morals aren't too bad, he just abides by the law of the Wasteland. I think the conversation with Lucy outside vault 4 shows she might be changing him and I'd like to see that character growth in season 2. It's like if each of them made each other a tiny bit more like the other they'd be an amazing team. You saw Lucy's naivety on the bridge, and Max's lack of morals here. I think they have a lot to learn from each other.

I've always had an issue with a character making weird faces while they zone out or come to a realization and the other characters dont think its weird. Hank is just out here meat riding coop while coop is staring at him with his mouth open

oh man im curious when the reaction to s2 ep 1 is gonna release, just finished it myself. Lol I see in the intro Jack is messing around with a medieval training knife by cold steel, I have the laredo bowie training knife and its fun to spin around on one finger. I let my nephews and nieces play around with it and they liked it.

Calling Maximus a "coward" in a world of radioactive filth is just delusional. In the Wasteland, "honor" is just a fast track to a shallow grave, and survival is the only currency that actually matters.
