I could be wrong because I haven’t seen any spoilers, but I don’t think Riyo and Rudo are meant to be romantic? I think it’s more that Riyo is just a quirky character and Rudo is like ‘omg, woman’ lmao. We will see though, I just don’t get that vibe so far

Yeah like I think Zanka is 18/19, Riyo is 17/18, and Rudo is more like 15/16. Not that that’s a big age gap, but he definitely gives younger brother vibes lol

They weren’t AWFUL, but definitely disappointing and flawed lol. You’d think the twists and stakes would rise after Vol 1, but nah. Like I said it’s not terrible, but the worst season by far. So many writing and execution inconsistencies.

seaweed is very common in east asian cuisine! i def recommend trying nori maki crackers if u dislike the idea of seaweed by itself (its a tiny cylinder shaped cracker wrapped in seaweed)

Love how Jack pointed out that to Rudo, broken objects and trash are treasure, therefore they hold a greater deal of value to him. Obviously the power system has to do with your care for an object, so it makes sense that he’s more versatile and different rather than just randomly being OP lmao

The thing I really like about Remlin's celebration of Gob's life is how it let Rudo see and experience a different kind of grieving than he's used to. When Regto died, nobody really gave a shit and they were mostly just concerned with throwing Rudo down The Pit. Then he gets to see how Canvas Town can take a moment of real sorrow like Gob dying and use it as an opportunity to celebrate his legacy through art the way he would've wanted. This story definitely delves into themes of grief and loss pretty heavily, so it's cool to see them look on the "bright side" of those things rather than only the dark. Which is good, because if you thought Gob was sad, you're in for a pretty impactful next several episodes.

cool thing to note in case no one else mentioned it but kei urana the creator hired a guy, a friend of hers, to do all the background graffiti in the series. he does it for the manga for sure and I would think he does it for the anime too... but not sure

I think, although I could be wrong, Kei Urana - the mangaka - modeled Gob after the grafitti artist who drew all the background graffiti in the manga which is really cool. Canvas town looks so cool as well, the smell of fumes from the paint cans would give me a headache though 💀

Gachiakuta has some surprisingly dark and mature subject matter. This arc they're on now alone has some really dark stuff in it along with all the typical shonen stuff.

Spam Musubi, Sushi, Sushi rolls all use seaweed but a different kind. The snacks are salted in accordance to it being consumed as a snack, while the other foods I mentioned, its used as a binder/base of the food. Work in the Food Industry 18 years now, mainly in Japanese, French, and Korean! Take my word for it XD
