In regards to JJK season 3, I just wanted to mention that it really might be worth getting a pen and paper for it. The introduction of at least 15+ new characters, all with different names, points, abilities, if they're reincarnated or not etc, all happens extremely fast. There is also ALOT of new domain expansions, and a few have extremely complex conditions going on inside them and guaranteed hits etc all at once. And some names are quite similar so it saves confusion if someone is spoken about without showing that person. Just a recommendation 😄 i know not all channels see the point in that or don't want to.

It's not in the anime, but in the manga all the black flashes happen over water / grate. There's some connection to it as gojo said humidity is a part of it. It's very cool but very subtle many wouldn't notice

Mahito says "I knew" because kenjaku purposefully dropped the prison realm to make it look like gojo was doing it, he just wanted to stay there while other curses spirits spread, mahito knew this.

You guys finally understand what s3 will be about. This rewatch was worth it. In regards to Mei Mei scene tho, I guess its confusing on the 1st watch but it basically just means Mei Mei values money more than her comrades and dipped out of a dangerous situation (battles with Geto) with Ui Ui's technique (which is a spoiler). There was no need to show their battle because she wasnt going to do her best to help the main cast anyway. Also shows a great juxtaposition between her and Nanami. Resposibility vs Money. A full sendoff vs Offscreen battle. But hey, as they have always said, they are jujutsu sorcerers, they arent heroes. So LMAO. Anyway, s3 will be so peak. Be prepared to be hella confused if you arent locked in and focus tho. Because things will happen insanely fast.

Im pretty sure the reason why Saori and her family were hated by the country people is because of their house and lifestyle. Their entire house was a fancy/expensive urban looking house in the countryside. I understand why they were frustrated, but I wouldnt have gone to that much harassment.

YES Potential hot take(?) but I think the Mahito fight is the peak of Shibuya and that episode 20 is the best of the arc. Of course the hype and destruction of everything beforehand is insane and top tier but I love seeing Yuji get pushed to his breaking point only to finally walk Mahito down. Mahito is such a perfect villain, his voice acting creeps you out in the best way possible, and he’s such a slimy little shithead that you love to hate. The emotions, Yuji’s blackflash that he dedicates to Nanami, Todo’s blackflash, Yuji beating the shit out of Mahito against the pillar, the 120% potential while the ending plays, “let’s kick it up a notch, this will be our last chance to curse each other”… just chef’s kiss. Could watch it over and over again.

It’ll be talked about in the rest of the show but I think season 3 will be so complicated that details will be overlooked. Malevolent kitchen is actually a somewhat correct translation according to its Japanese. Sukuna loves eating humans, which is the reason why his technique is cleaving and dismantling, followed by the special fire “fuga” and his domain as a kitchen, all to prepare and serve a good dish. Also the reason why he talks a lot about tasting things.

In the manga, the moment Mahito turns around and runs away from Yuji, Yuji runs after him until Mahito falls in front of Geto. The anime also excluded the symbolism of Geto being a bigger and scarier wolf than Yuji.

Edit: I hate Gege for making me feel like I have to explain disturbing sibling complex tropes in Japanese media. 😭 When I get my hands on you Akutami.....!!! 👊🏾 I think I can sort of explain the weird Mei Mei and Ui Ui scene. Gege hasn't talked about it from my knowledge BUT I think I can say something about it with what I know and have seen. Gege went with the "classic" sibling complex for these two. In this case, Ui Ui has a big sis complex. He loves his big sister, a little too much (Yuri from SpyxFamily anyone?). Personally, I don't think Mei Mei was or is doing anything untoward or gross to Ui Ui; she was likely just indulging him (playing along) as weird as that is. It's just that Gege writes/plays it SO STRAIGHT, that it seems like some heinous child abuse is going on. I'm not trying to justify anything, just explaining from my knowledge of Japanese media.

Just to summarize everything in the finale, honestly so I can make sure im understanding myself. The brain in Geto’s body is a jujutsu mad scientist who’s been around for 1000 years, hopping between different bodies and running experiments. One of these being the creation of Choso and his brothers around 150 years ago. He wants to push cursed energy to its limit and bring back the ancient Heian era which was the peak of jujutsu when sorcerers were constantly fighting and cursed spirits were everywhere. So over the past thousand years he’s been making pacts with ancient powerful sorcerers to turn them into cursed objects so they could be reincarnated one day in the future, just like how Sukuna split himself into fingers and was reincarnated in Yuji. In the current day: He stole Geto’s body after Yuta killed him in the JJK0 movie. At some point went around Japan handpicking a bunch of people to either become the vessels for the ancient sorcerers, or mark down normal citizens that he wanted to awaken powers in later. He then started working together with Jogo, Mahito, Hanami, and Choso to orchestrate the Shibuya incident where he: -Managed to seal Gojo in the prison realm to take him out of the picture -Made Mahito level up by fighting Yuji, where he then consumed him in order to use his powers Then used Mahito’s power to transfigure humans in order to activate both the new vessels and the new modern sorcerers that he had marked earlier Also unleashed all the cursed spirits he/Geto had stored away Basically causing the apocalypse in Japan and also flooding the country with a bunch of new sorcerers looking to fight and kill each other

On the idea of Yuta being motivated to kill Yuji: I haven't read the manga, so I don't know what's going to happen, but based on what we know about Yuta I think it's absolutely plausible that he would go along with executing Yuji. Now I could be wrong in my understanding of Yuta as a character, but I'm working from limited material (basically just JJK 0), so bear with me. Keep in mind that of the second-years at Tokyo, Yuta is the only one who has still never met Yuji in person. There's no emotional connection between the two; all Yuta knows, most likely, is that Yuji is the vessel of Sukuna who was responsible for the loss of Inumaki's arms and the destruction that went down in Shibuya. This is also where the idea of him respecting that Yuji is Gojo's student falls apart; Yuta's never met the guy, therefore he doesn't give a damn. Perhaps being Gojo's student gives Yuji a slightly better image in Yuta's mind, but it's not enough to overcome Yuji's actions from the perspective that Yuta is viewing them. This leads into understanding Yuta's motivation for being a sorcerer. I don't think Yuta would even take the thousands of people Sukuna killed into consideration, at least not as much; his main motive for wanting to kill Yuji would be the Inumaki part, as he states directly in episode 23. We know from the movie that Yuta places his friends (particularly Maki, Panda, and Inumaki) above all else. Geto even describes Yuta as "egotistical" during their fight, and in a certain way he's right. Yuta doesn't fight Geto out of a desire to do good or even because he necessarily believes Geto is in the wrong, but because Geto hurt his friends and is an obstacle between Yuta and the life he wants to live. You can make an argument that those accomplish the same thing, but there's a clear difference in the motivation. Yuji is an example of fighting for a more universal good; even if he doesn't know the person, he fights to save them because he believes that guiding them to a proper death is the right thing to do (and also because he wants to be surrounded by people when he dies I guess). Yuta isn't that, but because fighting for your friends is generally associated with fighting for the good in shonen, it becomes easier to project the stereotypical shonen protagonist personality onto Yuta and harder to identify these subtle character traits.

Well the spoiler is: SPOILERS (obviously) The sequel takes place 68 years or something like that after JJK. In one of the recent chapters Ui Ui actually makes an appearance as a super creepy decrepit old man, he’s wearing Mei Mei’s braid in front of his face, and he has a bunch of little kids that are all dressed up to look exactly like he did as a kid here.
