As a manga reader, I will do my best to answer your questions and clear up and confusion that you had at the end. 1. Choso is an incarnation of the special grade curse object Death Womb Painting created by Kamo Noritoshi. You can watch the scene he incarnates in season 1 as Mahito feeds the death womb paintings to randoms after he raided JJ High for the fingers during the Goodwill Arc. His two younger brothers, Eso and Kechizu were also incarnated as special grade, however both looked exceedingly less human than him as seen in the season 1 finale. 2. Two types of sorcerers were awakened whenever Kamo used Idle Transfiguration on Tengen's barrier at the end of season 2. One, those who had innate cursed techniques but brains were wired as non-sorcerers (think Junpei who was given a cursed technique by Mahito's use of Idle Transfiguration in Season 1). Two, non-sorcerers who were fed cursed objects (Think Yuji incarnating as sukuna) but remained dormant until Kamo broke the seal on them right after using Idle Transfiguration. So there are new sorcerers just gifted techniques, as well as ancient sorcerers reincarnated. 3. Megumi theorized that Tsumiki's cursed slumber was related to the events at Yasohachi bridge (that being the presence of Sukuna's finger). However, after the exorcism of the finger bearer and the ingestion of the finger, Tsumiki did not awake as revealed to us later. Choso's brothers (Eso and Kechizu) were present only to collect Sukuna's finger, as orderedby Kamo, and were not related to the curse placed on Tsumiki. 4. As stated by the rules, any one awakened by Kamo's Idle Transfiguration must declare their participation and colony within 19 days. It is unknown yet how much time has passed. Anyone can enter a colony and declare their participation. 5. The scars on Kaori (Yuji's mom) were fully healed unlike on the body of Geto which implies that Kamo spent an extensive amount of time masquerading as Yuji's mother. 6. It was actually revealed this episode with the introduction of Tengen at the end that the Narrator shares the same VA as Tengen inclining that the character itself is the narrator. As a manga reader, thats not even something I was aware of so very hype. The next episode is basically a 20 minute info dump on everything else you have questions about so just be patient and wait until next week! Everything will be answered! Until next time Geks

This arc, at least at the beginning, is a big info dump so brace yourself. One thing that I don't know if all of you but at least Jack got wrong is the fact that Megumi IS the clan leader of the Zen'in as of now, that's why Naoya wants to kill him, so he can be the leader. Also Tsumiki's curse is not related to Choso's brothers, not going into details but with the info we already have you can get that they are not related.

It’s like when Jack kept believing Madara was lying when he spoke about Itachi’s past even though other characters kept confirming it lmao. If I’ve learned anything from reading mangas since I was in high school, is that when a villain tells you a shocking story, more often than not, they’re speaking truth. The moment Choso said Itadori was his brother, I believed that shxt. Then everything else confirmed it. From him explaining how he senses it when one of his brothers is close to dying or is dying (when he almost killed Yuji in season 2), to this flashback that pushed Yuji to finally acknowledge him as his brother

Geto made 2 types of sorcerers at the end of S2 Those that had cursed techniques but couldn't use them cause their brains weren't wired correctly so he used Mahito's technique to fix that for them and then people like Yuji who are vessels for someone.

Yes its a lot different every season, but in my opinion its improved every time. I think they are sacrificing crisp animation with good consistent drawings for more movement and fluid animation. Its all up to what you preferer. I assume you like the animation in demon slayer more than this, and if you do its for this very reason. This is more messy but has more movement, while demon slayer has better visuals and drawings but less movement.

I blame the anime for this misunderstanding. In the manga, it doesn’t look like he was involved in Choso realizing Yuji was his brother. Sukuna’s speech-bubble goes “… ?” because he didn’t expect Choso to back off at that moment. Meanwhile, Choso is having the memory of something that never happened, with all his brothers sitting together around a table.

I get what you’re saying. I just feel weird about trying to say something along the lines of “you should be viewing shows in this lense or this other way”. Good example for how the Culling Games works is the example Mahito did with Junpei early in the show with Season 1. Using Mahito's Idle Transfiguration, he took a normal human (Junpei) and "unlocked" the cursed technique within him by changing the shape of Junpei's soul and brain so that his brain can use his body's engraved cursed technique. Geto/Noritoshi Kamo is using that same technique on a wild scale, by either awakening humans that consumed a cursed object (like Yuji with Sukuna's finger) or by changing normal humans with latent cursed techniques (like Jinpei) into sorcerers.

Yuta is incredibly strong because he's a descendent of Sugawara Michizane, one of Japan's most ancient and powerful sorcerers. Tengen just addressed Yuta by this title at the end. Rika is strong af bcz she was born out of Yuta's intense negative emotions when the OG Rika was dying. And we have already seen Yuta use RCT to heal others when he healed Maki, Panda and Inumaki when Geto attacked them in the movie. Keep in mind, healing others is something even Gojo can't do. Only ones we have seen do it are Sukuna, Yuta, Yuki and Shoko.

But not everyone has a cursed technique (Yuji and Kusakabe are examples. The guy who always wants to go home) 2) There are non sorcerers who have a cursed technique in their body but they cannot use it as their brains are not wired to use cursed energy and hence, cannot use any technique (eg Junpei) 3) Mahito’s technique is capable of rewriting a human body and hence making them able to use CE and CT (as happened for Junpei) 4) Noritoshi Kamo used Mahito’s technique to do 2 things: A) enable all people like Junpei to be able to use their innate cursed technique (converted them into sorcerers) B) Awaken many people who have been marked with cursed objects, like Yuji ate Sukuna’s finger, enabling them to attain power He had marked these people ahead of time for this purpose Currently we do not know which group Tsumiki belongs to. 5) Both these types of people are being forced to be part of the Culling Game. The commentary on Naoya here is so interesting. I see some saying they hate him, others saying he’s a bad person but they still like him. It’s funny that your opinion of Naoya is almost more controversial than your opinion of Sukuna, even though Sukuna’s committed far more atrocities. Sukuna is a villain that’s fun to love, but I think Naoya’s proximity to real-life villains (men who hate and abuse women) makes him a very good antagonist who hits closer to home and sets up Gege’s ongoing critique of conservatism in Jujutsu society.

love how the character acting in the conversations is so polished. the use of perspective in most of the talking scenes to frame shots + the effort to keep multiple characters in frame and moving all at once looks amazing, never seen something so ambitious. add the crazy ost + the voice acting on top and it really did surpass my expectations. not to leave an essay but anime voice acting is always so structured and scripted specifically because voice actors read their lines during recording while WATCHING the episode, so i think the way the animators crafted the convo scenes made the voice actors record something that sounds legitimately like a real conversation. actually groundbreaking if you ask me, never seen anything like it. big props to mappa as well for keeping the gloomy vibe from the end of s2 because I felt in the manga the switch-up into culling games was jarring and this felt seemless

I really agree with you. For example the bonfire scene between Megumi and Yuji. It would have been really easy for them to adapt that like a run of the mill anime where it’s just still frames of the characters talking. But the way it’s directed, was just incredible, it felt like I was watching real acting in a live action movie or something. I’m really curious how they handle next episode because it’s gonna be mostly Tengen yapping. Couple shots from the trailer showed me they put a lot of effort into making it visually engaging.

I'm late but explaining further the negotiation between Naobito (the deceased head of zenin clan) and Toji, what Toji did here was selling Megumi to the clan but also with a side condition if Gojo is dead or mentally incapacitated, Megumi would become the head of the clan (assumed that Toji had figured out Megumi would have 10 shadows from early on). But this kind of implies that Toji could have had plans to kill Gojo to make that condition become true, however he dies, and Gojo kept Megumi under his wing, preventing him from joining the clan.

The reason why I only said the three brothers and not the other six choso said in ep 2 is because the six were the remains of the brothers like Choso said, who essentially couldn't incarnate because they were too weak or underdeveloped fetuses shown in a scene in season 1 in comparison between all brothers
