The last ep made me very intrigued by kinger, and this one turned him into my favorite character! (so far) The theory I had about kinger being an extension of caine can be discarded now lol, but him having studies(??) in computer science makes me think they could still be related somehow. The fact that everyone “used to be” human makes me think that caine also was/is, and maybe kinger was a colleague from work or college. They both seem very smart, and in this ep they showed how one is very collected when he’s focused and the other is very insecure. I wonder if this is connected to their possible dynamic. The dialogue was really good in this one, and kinger saying, “In this world, the worst thing you can do is… make someone think they’re not wanted or loved,” made me wonder if this could be something he actually did to someone and learned from it, or if someone did that to him. Sorry for the yap session but I’m officially hooked to this show now lmao😭

I'm glad you guys are watching this show. I didn't even see that you were but its actually really strong. Few shows do psychological elements really well. Less so abut just including psychologically scary concepts but more about replicating how actual human minds would respond to that stress in the many varying ways different people would deal with it. Digital circus is really quite a terrifying concept when you forget about the goofy world for a second and remember that it's actual human minds that have been placed inside this fictious world and forced to try and comprehend that way of life after living normally. For most people it would induce psychosis fairly fast I'm sure haha, so I really like how the show explores these kind of psychological horror aspects with the abstractions, craziness, coping and many more things you guys are yet to see. Very well done imo

I found what Carter said about the characters different themes last episode very interesting as I think all their character designs are designed to match their personalities, real life identities and allegiances to each other. Pomni is the newest to the circus and from what we've seen often gets into the most traumatizing 'adventures' off rip. The reason I think she's designed a jester is to show her naivete towards the her new environment, almost like a joke is being played on her. Her behaviour demonstrates this as well with her stretchy cartoon body being used as a joke most of the time (like Kinger throwing the floaty last ep or Jax stretching her here). Even her door image has wide eyes, which are cute puppy dog eyes yes, but also represent curiosity. I'll probably do more of these for the other characters in later eps but this comments already too long lol.

I mean it depends on how the show treats consciousness, does the mind and conscious completely transfer from the person staying the same. Or is there a lapse in consciousness where while to everyone else they're functionally the same but its a new instance of you. The new consciousness continuation will be you but the not the same instance of you. Like if you copy your brain the copy will have all your memories, it's essentially its own person at that point. Idk I subscribe to how soma depicts it, its the reason if let's say teleportation became a reality. I would never use it because it essentially rebuilds you, it wont be the same consciousness continuation, just a new replacement

Its nice to see it be appreciated in a space where you usually won't find it. The series already has a, i wouldnt say bad, but no so good reputation due to judgement. It's seen that way because of maybe memes, clips, and the way it looks, but, as you've seen, it's a genuinely good and interesting show. also the fanbase needs more participants for theory making, always nice to have fresh eyes lmao. I love Kinger!! I haven't completely finished the video discussion yet, so sorry to be repetitive if you bring this up, but I love the detail in the episode before this when Kinger has the bucket on his head and has that moment of mental clarity with Ragatha, remembering how she was when she first arrived in the circus. Now we understand why he could remember, because the bucket put him in darkness! The character writing in this show is so thoughtful and well done, can't wait to see your reactions to the rest!
