Although this isn't JoJo's I don't think theres any other show I'd rather have before a big multi-season series. A nice digestible 10 episode binge of peak before the bizzare adventure 😌 This show was a phenomenon for the entire anime community for a bit as it, as you said, revived the whole game as well as bringing a lot of new cyberpunk fans in. I can't wait to be rewatching this for like the 9th time at this point lol.

The new series will be faithful to the original manga, and the 1995 movie was mostly based on the original manga as well. There’s been Gits series coming out on and off for the last 30 years, but the 1995 movie is considered to be one of the most iconic anime in history.

It’s because most of the comments and begging is coming from Twitch and Discord where the rest of the Patreon community congregate out of respect for the shows on Patreon, you know, not wanting to spam videos of their favorite shows and all. But Cyberpunk and Hillhouse have been pretty loud and large for awhile now. The fact that I’m not surprised we got these shows proves it in my case. Can’t speak for the Maul or Circus other than I’m relieved they chose their own show this time around.

Studio Gek isn’t some democracy, and we already include our audience in our decisions more than any other channel. Sorry you aren’t excited about cyberpunk, it’s literally over in 9 episodes.

I get that this is your livelihood and you have to follow what performs, that’s fair. But from a supporter perspective, it just feels inconsistent—shows people actually ask for get ignored, while things like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or other random picks get pushed without any input. I’m not saying you have to run it like a democracy, but when expectations get built up (like with the ‘new drop with a new face’ thing) and then it doesn’t land, people are obviously gonna be disappointed. I'm just impressed with how many shows you're reacting to atm! Geks are grinding, even Mckay in his quarantine. It's my first watch of this one but it's been on my list a while. Excited for more! It's cool to have the perspective of someone who's only played the game on the couch too. Makes sense to watch this now. I'm sure there are a lot of requests and it's kinda impossible to please everyone with every upload. But a little patience from some would be good. I'm sure you'll get your requests eventually. A little respect for everyone's opinions and Geks time aren't difficult requests either

I know you think you dunked on him but that comment was very silly since he is right. It's okay if you hate dubs, but you are just factually incorrect about what you're trying to imply with your response (your belief that it was intended to be watched in Japanese). The entire franchise was developed in the US originally beginning with the TTRPG in like the late 80's (in the English language) and of the course the video game (also in the English language). For that reason alone, OBVIOUSLY the guy is right in saying it was intended to be watched in English. But I'll keep going for you. One of the things that makes Cyberpunk such an interesting universe is the way they developed the multi-cultural melting pot that makes up the city. Every region of the city and cultural background obviously have their own languages but also their own way of speaking, lingo etc, none of which is portrayed in the Japanese version of the anime but is shown very clearly (and very well) in the English dub. The Japanese version doesn't portray those differences in any way. Not to mention the anime is the ONLY originally Japanese version of any part of the franchise in its 40 years of existing and that is purely because it was made by a Japanese studio in a medium their country is known for. So you are TECHNICALLY correct in saying it was "originally done with Japanese voice actors" but for reasons that should now be apparent, it's pretty clear you can't say "it's a Japanese show". At best, it's a show developed in Japan using a 40-year-old, English language IP. The fact it was developed in Japan doesn't change the fact the SOURCE MATERIAL is in English. People with your argument usually go straight to "it should be watched in the original language" but unfortunately for your argument, the original language of the source material is English. Usually, you would be correct because most anime are adapted from a Japanese language manga. Nothing about the source material or this universe was ever originally Japanese. Your comment would make sense for almost any other anime in existence but unfortunately it just comes across as uneducated in this one.

4 weeks late, but Breaking Bad not coming back is totally fine, and I get the whole reason why, but please do inform of such things on your patreon if you've previously said it will. Also, on another note, any plan on doing pluribus? I'm assuming BB not doing good rules out BCS, but man Pluribus was a banger, and personally I feel it would do quite well, it's also nowhere near as long so
