Good catch on Ikkaku not having the limiter since he is neither a captain or a lieutenant. Rarely people catch on that but the limiter was briefly mentioned in Soul Society arc when Renji fought Ichigo for the 2nd time around episodes 30 and 31.

21:40 Gentei Kaijo was first referenced in Ichigo's fight with Renji in Soul Society. A lot of people forgot about Gentei Kaijo at this point about it so this twist makes sense. Ikkaku and Yumichika do not have Gentei Kaijo because neither one of them is a captain or lieutenant. So Ikkaku was operating at 100% since the start of his fight.

To clear up a misconception you guys keep saying. Ichigo did not beat Byakuya on his own. Remember, Ichigo put up a good fight, but was losing to Byakuya until his hollow counterpart intervened and hit Byakuya with a powerful Getsugatensho. Ichigo is still weaker than Byakuya.

I love how Bleach uses Spanish for this, love the appreciation, buuuuut it kinda bothers me how they mixed the cardinal and ordinal numbers when they name themselves 😫 Like one of them is "Undecimo" (eleventh) but another one is "Quince" (fifteen) instead of "Decimo quinto" (a mouthful ik) but since their numbers are a rank/order, they all should be using ordinals 🫠 Nothing else bothers me but this hahaha

The Espada are actually ranked by strength with 9 being the weakest. Shawlong was only referring to the weaker arrancers number 11-20 that are ranked by birth. The Espada numbers 0-9 are ranked from strongest to weakest with 9 being the weakest and 0 being the strongest.

I really do love the commentary, but like.. Sometimes just let a scene play out. Ichigo just got humiliated by Grim after swearing to protect. Renji comes up and asks him if he won.. You're essentially spoiling things now as the only info we got in this batch of episodes was that number 11 explained that 10 espada below him were ranked in strength. One naturally assumes it's 1-10. Your comment spoils that twist.

McKay to answer your question about if Bleach is the first to use the 10 second delay blood splattering. Idk about anime but the blood splattering came from Akira Kurosawa's 1960s film Sanjuro. There was duel between two samurai and a blood device was supposed to release a small amount, but it malfunctioned and exploded into a massive spray instead, making it a iconic samurai/duel film trope to this day.

ikaku did have the limiter yumichika called for them to all get the barrier around them specially for that reason all of them were limited

It has nothing to do with that, it's to protect the people from the arrancar, not ikkaku's "limiter" being removed. Why else would they each time specify that ONLY captains and lieutenants have this limiter. I'm sure it would/would've been states otherwise if that was the case. If he still had a limiter as he wasn't allowed to "release" it, that'd be he would be a lot stronger than hitsugaya or renji is.
