gggoos

Btw, kind of off topic but appreciate the early posts! As someone from EU it's nice to catch these episodes early. Noticed that you guys have been posting earlier as of recent (maybe a couple-few months) and hope the schedule stays like this. Cheers!

Adder180

Tuned back in for this flashback, its so peak

Aluri Anirudh

BLEACH OPENINGS ARE GOD TIER, BUT DONT WATCH THEM NOW, THEY CONTAIN SPOILERS, bleach has a habit of spoiling in the intros kinda but the visuals + music is really one of my faves

Christian F

The double upload was an awesome way to start Friday. Can't wait to until you guys wrap up this mini arc and get all the information out of it, it's so good.

Gui Brawl

So that's the reason why shohei as a 69 tattol on the face, makes sense. Why does kensei have it, who knows?

Daniel Walker

First of, thx for the quadruple episode reaction Geks!! Much appreciate. Second, "Turn back the pendulum" is my top 3 Bleach arcs. When this came out the first time I was flabbergasted every episode. Watching this for the first time was like asking your mom for a cookie and she was like here have the whole jar. Third, the number "69" represents a combination between Kensei's name and the squad he's the captain of. He seeks pride in his name and his role in the Gotei13 and that's just his way of being prideful. As for Hisagi, he simply tattooed that number to honor his savior. And interestingly enough, Hisagi is part of squad 9 in present time. Kubo's play on numbers strikes yet again!!

E

love this backstory cause i get both of my favs Gin and Shinji in it

Scared Cannon

Guys whats on the juicy tier show poll? I cant see 😭

kai

“from the time in your mamas womb” lmfaoooo he ate that so bad even aizen was gagged

GBuckets

Some things in this batch kinda blew my mind rewatching this from TYBW. I didn't know some characters were already referenced this early

Gui Brawl

Kira top 10 is crazy!! I love kira but he hasnt been in the story in so long, since ss and still gets in Same with momo, shes one of the main focus in ss, she has her conversation with toshiro after, but its been 100 chapters. No mayuri? Very impressive! And uraharas hat and aizens glasses being considered is very funny, same with Tite Kubo

Gui Brawl

Every arc has problems even if minute ones, however turn back to pendulum is the closest we'll get to perfection, imo It does everything it sets out to do really well and even more. You get tons of answers and still left with question It explores more of the politics, ahhh sooo good!!!

Mitch

Turn back the pendulum is easily one of the best stretches in all of bleach very excited to watch this with yall later

Mitch

Yep he was a big fan of Tekashi back in the day 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Benio

I love Mashiro💚💚💚. If Mashiro has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth

shinigamiO.O

FYI Episode 206 was pretty much actual filler not in the manga. You get the opening scene with the captains and lieutenants, then all the Soi Fon stuff and showing the captain exam is non-canon.

Stefan

Yeah, i wonder where Tosen is 😂

Robin

THE LORE IS REVEALED

Kai-lo

Lol, yeah I knew you'd switch up everybody does

Alexander

Souls age slower when they have high spiritual pressure Also Byakuya is about the same age as current Hitsuguya in this flashback (tells you how much a prodigy he is)

shinigamiO.O

SQUAD FLOWERS: Every squad in the Gotei 13 have a flower insignia that signifies the squad. You’ll see them on the lieutenant badges and on the captain cloaks. The flower was also the Gettei Kaijo seal that limited the power of Hitsugaya, Matsumoto, and Renji in the World of the Living back when the Grimmjow and crew invaded. 1: Chrysanthemums = Truth and Innocence 2: Pasque flower = Seek Nothing 3: Marigold = Despair 4: Bellflower = Those Who Grieve are Loved 5: Lily of the Valley = Sacrifice, Danger, Pure Love, Humility, Sweetness 6: Camellia = Noble Reason 7: Iris = Courage 8: Bird of Paradise = Everything is Obtained 9: White Poppy = Oblivion 10: Daffodil = Mystery, Egoism 11: Yarrow = Fight 12: Thistle = Vengeance, Strictness, Independence 13: Snowdrop = Hope

tami

bleach lore always goes so hard

Enma

Yeah I agree its so crazy that Kira is in the top 10! Same goes to Momo. They are both great characters but we haven't gotten much of them since soul society and yet they both made it into the top 10. Unlike Renji who we have gotten more content from after ss but sadly he got knocked down 7 spots, poor guy cant catch a break loll

Christian R Lewis-Batista

What Shinji pulled back was a bakudo that bends light to make a target invisible. Not Aizens swords illusions. They kinda didn’t clarify well in the anime. Shinji fought one armed Grimmjow and packed him up. Grimmjow was about to release to fight him but Ulquiorra stopped him I believe. And that was Kensei who is a Visored lol. We see his release when he fights hollow ichigo and i am pretty sure we see his 69 tattoo.

Gui Brawl

He's meant to be everyones punching bag, just ask y....😇😇

Enma

🤣🤣🤣

Kadence

why yall gotta be like that, you simply cant help yourself from hinting at the future

Hotdog

Four episodes of Bleach is exactly what we needed. The more the better.

Enma

dont worry man I put a warning in my first comment

shinigamiO.O

“How are they aging in Soul Society?” All Bleach fans: We haven’t figured that one out yet. 🧐 Best guess is the stronger the individual, the longer it takes them to age. One example is comparing Toshiro Hitsugaya and his childhood friend Hinamori Momo (Aizen’s lieutenant). Momo grew up into an adult woman, probably about the equivalent of early twenties. Meanwhile, Toshiro is physically 12-years-old and yet confirmed by Kubo to be older than Momo.

Jeff

Love hearing the theories!

Lemonsqueeze

Can't believe we had 4 episodes and nothing much happened lmao. I did not remember the backstory being this long

Alexander

My goat Hisagi seen a man with a 69 tattoo save his life and said let me get the same one on my face 😂

hunter zweig

The old.man next to head captian is kuchki family member

jrnoodles

Thanks Geks! Hiyori yells too much for my liking. Also, aura farming from Shinji PEAK

Gui Brawl

Thank you for this, now it's time to analyze every captain and lieutenant from each squad and see how it relates to them

Kadence

didnt see that. God bless

Max Grodman

Legendary Shinji aura moment with Aizen

Max Grodman

I remember on my first watch this arc really impressed me. I didn’t know bleach was like THAT with lore drops

Calvin

Holy double drop bleach W

Pats

Peak bleach lore drop

Martin O'Dwyer

Hiyori isn't even close to the most powerful Vizard 🤣

Daniella

It's so funny when we first see the dynamic between Yoruichi and Byakuya it's so cryptic and borderline onimous, this whole time she just teased him as a kid and he couldn't stand it lowkey so dramatic 🤣 but i like how wholesome it is too :)

Daniella

Btw Kubo answered it in a fan q&a but Kensei has 69 tattooed on his chest because his last name, Muguruma, contains the Kanji for the number 6 and he is the 9th Division Captain, so he has 6 and 9 tattooed.

Ezra

All of your questions at the end will be answered eventually

Pissed about this arc 😂😭 sweet summer children. I think the movie Jack was talking about was Minority Report. In Japan 69 has a different meaning

Martin O'Dwyer

If I remember right Kensei has the 69 tattoo because the kanji for his name also can be read as 69 like how Ichigo is 15

QUARTZ QUANTUM

Small detail but when the captains we're discussing that the captain of squad 11 wasn't attending the ceremony, they mention he's the 10th kenpachi not the eleventh like Zaraki.

K2

i love this flashback

JTUltima

Legendary flashback

wileykat

Btw it's supposed to have gone fullscreen from 167 onwards

Jenna Antonelli

Its finally here~! I love this mini arc so much. So juicy :]

KazumaSpitfire

McKensei is one of the vizored we saw before, yes

Elio

Please avoid TikTok the next few days cuz the next episode of Bleach TYBW will break the internet. Like literally!!!

KazumaSpitfire

I also read possibly not until 230, I think it said something about 167/168 onwards widescreen being cropped and cutting things out of the frame. I don't have the service they use so I can't check myself

Kurofi

LEACH!

Kurofi

W COMMENT!

Gorira Kujira

This flashback is probably my favorite part of the show

Uncle Tsukishima

pendulum arc Hiyori and skinny Mayuri could have their own spin-off lmao

LuvStarburst

I knew you would eat your own words after hearing what you said.

kpthpthhh

URGHHHH TERRIBLE CLIFFHANGER BOOO BOOO BOOOOOO

shadowwalker

The manga panel of Shinji revealing Aizen is so good. McKay you gotta look it up

Alex Ramirez

1:21:51 You now know where Hisagi gets his 69 tattoo. Here's a fact that most Bleach fans don't know: Kensei's 69 tattoo does have a small meaning. The tattoo isn't a sixty-nine but a six-nine. Kensei's last name Muguruma contains the kanji for the number 6. He is the captain from Squad 9.

LuvStarburst

The best thing about watching your reactions is the questions you guys come up with at the end. You guys really think about what you saw and ask the important questions.

Michael Iparraguirre

Till this day I believe the Pendulum Arc was one of the best backstories in all of anime. It dumped so much lore it was crazy!

Izaya

Kensei is indeed the VIsard. No one dies in Bleach.

chakalicious

Her frekkles are gone between 207 and 208. That's why she looked different. I just noticed it myself

ThirtyStik

wtf did mayuri do to get locked up and how is kenpachi a free man 😂

ThirtyStik

I do think shinjis long hair is drippy ash but I don’t mind the short hair. Bros got the long hair draped over the captains cloak, ts hard asf.

Carlos

Holy 4 drop😩eggwoll

Alexander

Is this the only double drop or isn't the next bundle supposed to be one too?

Alexander

It's full screen but I think because they still on Hulu it hasn't changed

March Natapat

She’s a “Kamen Rider” reference 🙌🏽

DonDuh103

Why is the comment section telling us what episodes we’re about to encounter in the next few episodes🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ that’s actually annoying like wtf

DonDuh103

Urahara has conquers haki??

DonDuh103

Soul Society was so chill and boring back in the day that they had soul reapers sweeping grass, so Aizen said I’ll be your Thanos😂😂😂😂

DonDuh103

Urahara had so much time he was memeing in the middle of the dodge😭😭

DonDuh103

Shinji just let Hitler be born😭😭

DonDuh103

HOW ARE THESE EPISODES NOT RATED HIGHER🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ like these episodes were so good!

kkloyd

Visards are not shinigami anymore, they dont need to follow that cap leuitenant order

DonDuh103

On real😂😂 wasn’t he just killing people too

kuza

"How long are you going to stand there and watch... Sosuke?" 🤭

kuza

i LOVE shinji man

kuza

!!!

kuza

HIM

kuza

"popularity" polls are stupid

kuza

geks forgetting the brief shinji v grimmjow fight, his entrance was so good

kuza

kisuke hand to hand scene was fire

tami

i can't wait for all your questions to eventually be answered!! bleach lore always cooks

kuza

disgusting cliffhanger

simmer

W double upload for one of the best arcs in og bleach

ooAlmondMilk

So far re zero and monster are leading

ooAlmondMilk

I think now it's easier to understand how ichigo and the others where able to infiltrate the seireitei so easily, at that point they'd already been slaking off for hundreds of years cause there was basically no noticeable enemy to prepare for, while ichigo's squad came in HUNGRY

Kizao

huhh where is 204 and 205 did i miss something?

Maximum Homerdrive

"not even a crumb" even though they just saw him on the screen for the last 7 minutes

Kasumii_

I've been WAITING for this arc cause I think I can finally say this and not get murdered for "hindsight merchanting"... Shinji is my favorite character in Bleach, I LOVE him, like the amount I like Shinji compared to the rest of the cast is like the strength difference between the 10th and the 1st Espada, even from his introduction I've always thought he was so cool, from his drip to his relaxed attitude to his Kansai dialect to the bob and weird teeth everyone hates so much, I love everything about him

shinigamiO.O

Which one? I’ve only read the CFYOW and We Do Knot Always Love You, but I’m fairly certain the bit with Soi Fon complaining about and following Kisuke around with the shinigami deserters was just anime padding. And the captain’s exam obviously was an event that happened in the story, it just always occurred offscreen. That doesn’t change the fact that most of 206 and it’s Naruto-esque music and vibe was not what originally appeared in the manga and felt very much like the filler that it was. Thankfully it only lasted the single episode and no more appeared afterwards, but it certainly drags down the pacing of an otherwise extremely exciting flashback arc.

Maximum Homerdrive

Without consent or warning, Mayuri made human bombs out of his squad members just to ensnare Uryu and Orihime. That was in his first appearance in the story. I think this is a John Wick 1 situation where the audience is supposed to mythify the backstory of a character based on their present actions and personality.

Bryce

Almost all the soul reapers look way younger in the flashback, Carter be trippin on this one lol. Thanks for the extra drop boys!!

TK

Can you guys please just binge this in one huge go. You have to watch TYBW because this is already peak and gets better, but TYBW has exceeded my 33 year old mind beyond comprehension. I grew up watching this and it truly is doing it justice.

Fletch

been waiting for that Shinji revealing Aizen scene for soooo long 🤭

Matt C

That Shinji revealing Aizen scene is iconic, used in so many reels and tikoks

stako

*spoilers* i totally forgot Hikifune was mentioned this early

kkloyd

I dont know why you thought shinji was under hiyori, its clear that shinji is kinda leader of vizards but more importantly they dont follow same order of hierarchy of shinigamis, like no one cares who was captain

bigdog

W double upload

Uncle Tsukishima

"Hindsight merchant" is such a stupid term that I have only heard here. It's like ffs man we are just talking about the damn show. They really want the comments to be absolutely barren.

Zess

I think its just because she bullies him lol but that's just a gag, not real powerscaling.

Aluri Anirudh

we have just 3 more episodes for this arc, might be too much to ask, but could you guys do a triple drop to finish the arc in the next drop?

Jenny D

This has definitely been interesting so far. Excited to see more

sammy

the movie u were talking about is minority report btw jack

Mintymischa

THIS ARC IS WHY I SIGNED UP TO PATREON!!! I’m beyond excited for this

Callum Kemp

Probably more relevant here is that the chrysanthemum is the symbol of the imperial family in Japan
