"Aishiteru" (愛してる) This word in Japanese is generally excepted as being the deepest way of saying "I love you" in the language. I have learned small pieces of Japanese over increments of my life, and thank god I knew enough to know what ai meant, because when I heard Corazon say this to Law the first time it had me bawling like a baby. Little Law having to see another one of his parent's die, all while screaming his lungs out for someone who can't hear him broke my heart. This is what makes Law my favourite character, because he lives on in both Corazon, and his families will despite repeated awful tragedies that would have broken any kid that wasn't as loved as he was. (and yes I pre-typed this in anticipation)

The Japanese language has several variants of the phrase "I love you". Notably the one Corazon uses at the end with Law is one of the deepest and most heartfelt ways of phrasing it. In fact, he is one of the only one piece characters to ever say "I love you" so brazenly, aside from Bellemere. This unconditional love he showed to Law was truly what saved not only his body, but also his soul in the end, because as Doflamingo said, he was on a fast track to become just like him. I dont remember where, but I once read a line that summarized their relationship beautifully: Corazon wanted to live but died for Law, Law wanted to die but lived for Corazon ❤

FYI, not a spoiler. The flashback gives enough hints and the manga never specifically states it. The pirate with the op-op fruit is called Diaz Barrels and back in sabaody we know Drake’s last name is Diaz. Diaz is also the word for 10 or Roman numeral X. Also Drake pronounced in Japanese is Do-rei-ku and in this flashback his dad and the crew call him ‘Dorei/Drei’

Before Corazon died, he wondered if Law would remember him, and hoped the last image he’d have of him was his smiling face. But Law never forgot him. He spent 13 years seeking revenge for him, made Corazon’s smile his crew’s symbol, got tattoos representing him, and even named his crew the Heart Pirates because Corazon means “heart” in Spanish😞❤️

I’ve been saying this forever. Having an open world one piece game where you can be captain of your own crew and recruit your own crew members and sail the grand line to obtain the one piece. It would so sick. With different devil fruits you could get and fighting styles. Fight against marines and other pirate crews. Exploring different islands that weren’t shown in the anime or manga. Top 5 game of all time if it was made.

Everyone wants a good game for a lot of shows just until it comes to talking about what the game should actually be and if it is even possible 😭 I don't blame anyone for just expressing what they want of course but just wanted to put out my 2 cents: I find it hard to imagine how you'd make an enjoyable open world one piece game when the show is so dependent on its characters enhancing the world as much as the world enhancing the characters. There's also been a lot of one piece games (some open world), but not one "good enough" to be mainstream; mostly because that's just an insanely hard goal to achieve. Of course I also hope there will eventually be a top 5 game oat One Piece game but i find it easy to admit it will likely never be possible from both a funding and develeopment perspective unless you bring Vegapunk over to the real world or can settle for a text-based game.

Yes mam, glad to be back, for “Dorei!” 🫡 And yes very true, Drake son of a pirate and former marine who was seemingly taken in by the navy ended up taking up the path of his father he seemed to dislike and abandoned. In an sbs shortly after this chapter oda revealed that Drake, originally looking up to his dad for being a marine, was forced to follow and work under his father against his will and was often physically abused by him, hence why we see him have no hesitation when given the chance to escape and leave his father behind.

Every person complaining about One Pace needs to be refered back to this reaction for 707 lmao. There is literally no benefit of watching a version of the show that will just frustrate you. Especially since the padding has nothing to do with Toei's creative vision. It's just a consequence of production timelines for anime vs manga. If you find yourself not caring when the pace is stretched that's perfectly fine. But if you do care, there is no shame in One Pace. Life is too short.

It is absolutely criminal that there's no polished One Piece game with upgradeable ability skill menus, multiple island hops, and a ship home base. Im imagining AC Black Flag sailing with Batman/Spiderman combat

The One Pace version of 707 has the entire 3 minutes of the "Violet listing the Doflamingo members" scene, and it also keeps 90% of the 4-5 minutes of "each fight update" scenes. It does cut out about 2 minutes of good Law vs Doffy scenes, the first scene of Luffy vs Bellamy/Clone and a few other minor dialogues/cuts. So it's basically no difference in terms of the scenes that people are complaining about.

That's fair enough . My point was more about general feelings around One Pace. Even if Pace had the same slow feeling my main point is that it's fine to use the alternative cut if the slow parts of OG One Piece bother you. It does make sense that you let them raw dog 707 based on your info though. Still, I think we caught a glimpse of what their experience would be if they were exposed to some of the more notorious Dressrosa pacing.
