Alex Ramirez

GUYS, I havent watched season 2 yet. I was hoping to start and finish it before your dropped all of it 😭

Drew

Just wanted to say we appreciate your hard work and efforts in getting this out (even though viewership/engagement might not be great).

Kim 555

Random but I just wanted to drop in and recommend Carrie the series. It’s October, so if you have space for a new show it would be so fitting. It’s 8 episodes short and fully released with high ratings and popularity. It’s also produced and directed by Mike Flanagan who did one of your favorites, The Haunting of Hill House. You might even see familiar faces. It’s truly a good modern adaptation and it worked so well.

Mitch

Season was good. Not as good as season 1 but that's a pretty high bar. Just felt like this season could've really benefited from another couple of episodes to flesh out the characters. I found it a bit difficult to really feel much for the characters because of the pacing. Overall I enjoyed it and will be looking forward to season 3 if they make one

Vinny Deluca

I havent even gotten home from work yet and they put out the whole season lol

CallMeBibz

Season 2 made me want a season 3 with better story direction . So many interesting concepts introduced, only to feel like a random seasonal anime plot at times.

slobb

I agree. Having that many plotlines could work if there were more episodes. Season 1 worked because we only really had David and Lucy's arc.

2026-10-22 04:00 Probably just not great right now since a lot of people haven't watched it on their own yet.

It's really good!

Dang yall already finished and I haven’t even started can’t wait to watch this once I watch it with my friend! Hope it’s good and yall enjoyed it!

TB0796

This was definitely no season 1 but I’m grateful we did get another I feel like studio trigger likes to make something and then move on to the next thing so I’m curious to see if they commit to this a bit more. Definitely wasn’t expecting it to end the way it did.

Mitch

Yeah I think that's a better way to put it. I feel like season 1 felt better because there seemed to be more "focus" whereas season 2 kept going from one character/plot line to another

walkman

Pretty good season, nowhere near as good as the first though. Didn’t care as much for the characters as I did in season 1. Animation and art style were great

Tyler

Man, I had a hard time getting invested in the characters. I don't even remember the name of D's number one fan. I wanted to feel some tug on the heartstrings but it just didn't do it for me. Still liked it in different ways than season 1, enjoyed it, but it's not close. Unfortunately my favorite part was when they name dropped David Martinez in the files in episode 4.

Bob

I would say weirdly season 2 is as a good as season 1, because of how every character felt fleshed out nicely, I feel like it was the kind of story you feel was bad, but the think about why and you realize it’s really good. For me personally it felt like a solid 8.8/10 like it was clearly better then most anime we have like if we compare it to like most other anime these days other then season 1 it holds up very well, although I do agree, my one criticism was the music I feel didn’t really try to feel sad or felt very much the game style music I was hoping there would be a sadder ending theme as well or more that there was a second ending that fit a better vibe as the ending when it played after a sad part it like pulled me out of the experience. Anyway I’m yapping Good reaction! I’m glad you guys enjoyed it and I’m glad it didn’t let us down atleast.

Shoelace Ace

Just want to say this takes place in 2080, which is after the game and after season 1.

Henrique I. Pereira

Just finished watching, going to watch your reactions tomorrow. Honestly I think they lost the plot in the last couple episodes. I didn't feel much at all second half onwards, and in the end it feel like a nothing burger with cool action scenes. This idea of having this many main characters and not really developing much of their plot past the first 3ish episodes really ruined it, except for D which had more development forward with the group he created and the arasaka riot climax, but dunno, King for example could have had more development. The whole thing felt like a very well made animation, which Trigger always does, but everything else was worse than season 1, maybe action scenes were a bit better. In 3 days i probably wont remember the name of any other character other than D and Roman.

DeadlyRainbowz

I enjoyed it way more on a second watch with y'all. First watch I was disappointed and compared it to season 1 which soured my viewing experience. I think season 1 executed its themes, animation, and music better than season 2. Definitely in the top 10 anime of the year, unfortunately it will be hard to justify a top 3 slot or anime of the year. Season 1 really does show you the possibilities of the Cyberpunk universe + animation + music. Really sucks season 2 couldn't hit those quality heights on pretty much all the categories. Everything was a step or two back. First watch: 6.5/10 Second watch: 8/10

RH

I feel like that reference, as well as the one D makes in his final moments were kinda thrown in.

cade-carter

i mean is there any reason not to watch it with them?

cade-carter

Other than Talia these characters are not nearly as large or memorable honestly. D was almost amazing, but his return to who he was is to quick

cade-carter

ten years... we follow David for like 1-1.5 years total

cade-carter

We spend more time with nearly all these character than anyone in S1, only david gets more time. But these characters dont hit near as hard

SavDog23

A really great season, just not on the same level as the masterpiece that was season 1. Roman the Goat tho.

Grae

Well tbf they did say Arasaka's grip on NC has slipped, plus it was clear that they wanted Kang Tao, or more specifically Kiril to be the central antagonists rather then Arasaka for the third time.

Rare_pvk

Numbers speak for themselves, I hope we learned a valuable lesson.

Jacob Gorton

I think this season tries to tackle a lot of different themes. The characters start off as high level punks but are held back by their bodies. David's story was much more legendary because he chose to go all out with a bang and give up his life. But these characters manage to scale back and chose to celebrate the life and connections they still have. I can understand thinking it is corny but I am glad it did it's own thing. I also loved the best and worst parts of the characters being framed with Roman's camera. His perspective is naive and hopeful at times and nihilistic as well.

Jacob Gorton

Talia's story mirrors king's and despite not being her father, he still loved her and her mother more than Yang ever did. She wanted to go out in peak form and selfishly as cool in the eyes of someone like roman. She never even considered the idea of living long enough to have a future. She saw the state of king as an ex-merc to be pitiful. But it is not pitiful to live another day and care about yourself.

walkman

I know, still thought it was funny though lol

Alan

I only just rewatched S1 after like 5 years so I didn’t remember most of the plot for it and I think I like S2 a lot more. I think most of the character arcs were more interesting with S2. I think it showed a lot of different relationship dynamics and how these can be toxic even when it be positive or can be positive even when it seems toxic.

Shiki

For a narrative that's trying something more subtle with a larger ensemble, it could have used more episodes imo

Lorenzo

Well i would rather watch it myself first

Shiki

Like when Cannon says he wonders how they invoked the emotions that they did in season one, I would say it's because they told exactly the story you can tell in 10 episodes

Grae

A valuable lesson of what? Doing a fun little binge of the second season of their 4th favourite anime ever that has been anticipated ever since its announcement? We're trading 3 drops of shows with hundreds of episodes for one week, you'll be ok champ.

Apollo

I think it was okay, fewer lows than Season 1 but weaker highs over all for me. Definitely not as good overall, I think the sound design was bizarre as well and the narrative felt dispersed and unfocused.

cthuluchan

Idk why this exists really. D's character went from a blinded Uchiha revenge plot that felt quickly sidelined after realizing nothing was left to do, to suddenly obsessively caring for Capri because...? It really felt like halfway, the plot kinda kicked into highgear when they REALLY needed additional runtime instead of cramming it. I don't think it was bad, I was more left confused as to why this story needed to be told relative to S1 David outside of reiterating the path of cyberpsychosis

sigma4k

This season was all over the place. I personally loved it even if it didn’t live up to season 1

Hegataro

I genuinely liked it over all. It's going for a very different vibe and feel than season 1, especially in having a hopecore ending. I think it works better for Edgerunners to be an anthology than a direct continuation. This chronologically takes place after S1 and 2077 - some people are claiming it's pre-end of Phantom Liberty based on what's said throughout the season, which would place it in 2078 - but it's not a sequel to either one. It feels like its own anime and I think that's kind of good. It feels like doing a new playthrough as an archetype you hadn't done before. And while it probably needed more time to execute it fully, I do appreciate that rather than action they went for a character study of the 4 MCs. It also feels like they wanted to go for a very specific "80's/90's anime" vibe, with the analog camera bringing us to 4:3 VHS constantly. And also the fact that the finale is Akira.

Hegataro

On D's final... obsession? with Capri or caring for her I think, because his direct revenge was unachievable, his final act of revenge was the destruction of the object - Capri herself - that every corp was going after. And based on Kyoko's own words, him being on the list is directly tied to Capri. So in a way him destroying her was his final fuck you to Arasaka, as it turned years of development moot and he got to destroy the reason it even happened in the first place. And since he was the other reason it happened, he had to destroy himself too.

Hegataro

Not to mention the amount of weird art stuff this season does, which I only recall Maine's breakdown kinda having. Stuff like D's memories being two-colored stills, the way he looked when talking with Roman at the beginning of episode 8. Very experimental, and weird to do in the second season of a show.

Lorenzo

I was just gonna finish the game first the 2nd time but heard theres a new update coming in a couple days. New shit to grind

Apollo

No episodes in particular, but I felt like there were a lot of scenes where the dialogue didn't really add anything and it was just still frames. This season is quite more dynamic visually though ironically characterization is worse.

Henrique I. Pereira

Yeah, D suddenly caring a lot about Capri felt weird, because all he did till now related to her was want to have her power to fulfill his revenge, not once he had shown any sign of being interested in her personality

Alan

CAPRI DID NOTHING WRONG i said what I said

Hegataro

As a secondary review of the season, now that I've watched it on my own in japanese and now with you in english: The second watch feels VERY different than the first. Not even talking in the sense of knowing what to expect; the "when's the first big death gonna happen!?" anxiety season 1 primes you for had a huge impact on my enjoyment of the story, and I had the same "I don't know how to feel about these characters at the end" feelings as Cannon. But on this second watch, without the anxiety, I appreciate the journey the characters went on and how it was told way more.

Vojee

Damn they knocked these episodes out faster than my favorite show on juicy tier. I know this is peak and I haven't even watched it yet but what is this? Dont yall have a schedule to follow for shows lol. I guess they make exceptions when they really want to. Not that I'm complaining or making a big deal out of it

Carter D. Andrus

😂😂😂😂 when a show that drops live drops like this we always release it this way lmao Netflix drops the whole show at once

Vojee

I didnt know you guys did that honestly. Its just surprising to me dropping 10 episodes in just 2 days I thought maybe you’d follow your schedule to a T. But i get it, its not everyday that something like this happens

Noah Brown

Thanks for getting this out quick guys, made it a lot more fun to watch.

Alan

Capri is D’s Naruto

Alan

Capri D Naruto

Cannon Andrus

I guess it just feels like longer cause he gets so big and drops out of school lol

Lorenzo

Loved Carter’s point, season wasn’t iconic. But i still loved it and enjoyed the season, i feel like if there was more time/ episodes to get close to the characters. Probably woulda loved it a lot more

ash

Never been more glad to have subbed here than when I saw all the episodes uploaded right after I finished watching, y'all got it out so fast

Khasar

I actually really enjoyed this season. Only thing I didn't like was the open ending, and some parts were confusing or weren't explained. Definitely could've added an episode or two to flesh things out and close the ending. But overall, I liked the story and the characters (roman, d, talia, king), and also the bitter sweet ending.

Cannon Andrus

In fact it’s years in the making

Alan

The music is louder in the sub i feel like

Alan

Yeah I can especially tell in the last episode idk if it wasn’t mixed right or what it’s like every time they talk the music is muted

Drew

Not the biggest fan of this season. For me the story is kind of boring and I couldnt connect with the characters. Its still good and enjoyable to an extent but even if they added a few more episodes I dont think it would change my view on the show. The writing as a whole and the narrative taken just feels a bit bland. 7/10 - Good watch but nothing top tier from a plot/story/emotional standpoint. Score & Animation were good but not enough to overcome its flaws. Not looking to hate but curious to see others thoughts on it

jed d'angelo

This season was so weirdly paced at times. It just feels so jumpy from one part to another. Felt like the story board could have had some more time to process and figure out the way they wanted to tell this story. It was never going to live up to season 1 but I was expecting a bit more from this show. I am very interested in how they connected the seasons though and see a lot of potential with taking more of the characters from that list Arasaka was looking into to build up their tech.

Jnasty

Yeah the teasers and official trailer are honestly better than this season. They actually weave the banger songs into a sad looking story. We were just straight up lied to by the show runners. Before it came out the guy who made the story said this would be sadder than season 1. Bro was just straight bullshitting. If season 1 was a 10 I’d give this season a 6

Starksego

My favorite thing about both cyberpunk seasons is the sound tracks! They had rico nasty, along with corbin aka spookyblack, and discovering petite meller music!

Nathan Salcido

nah fr what is he talking about LOL numbers will go up when people watch the show themselves and it's also their channel they can do what they want

Grae

I really liked this season, I agree with what you guys were saying at the end about there not being enough scenes to attach you to the characters and their relationships besides Roman and D. I would have loved a King and Talia heart to heart scene as well, but it always felt like they knew they were running out of time with the Capri/D plotline and other then Roman couldn't slot in time to have both plot lines interact with each other while having those kinds of scenes. That's why in my mind, Roman is the true mc, however it definitely feels like D's story by the way it ends and how his character comes full circle. It just felt like we needed more time to get to know the characters, especially Talia and King, as in the first season, Maine is around for only 4 episodes and all we see him doing when he isn't on a job is interacting with David or his crew around him. Didn't really feel that way with King though, we got to see the nice scene with the tracker and the driving scene at the end but it felt like the plot was always demanding him to do something to save Talia's life. Overall I really did like all the characters and when they interacted, I liked all the aspects of King finding new purpose through Talia, wish we got more Talia and Roman although their scenes together we're all really well done, and D's send off was handled really well, they did a good job making me care for him and his arc, it got me a bit teary at the end. Very solid trigger, bravo 👏

Grae

I don't know why the music wasn't very loud for you guys but I really loved the sound track this season, all the Petite Meller songs were really good. I don't know how you guys didn't listen to the ending once but it was one of my favourite songs. That song in the drive-in cinema scene 'High Forever' was the best in my opinion, had me a little emotional for some reason (although I do wish the full version had one more verse).

Animeke

Good ending, doesn't really compare to season 1, but I'm happy mostly everyone survived and it wasn't just a rehash of the first story. I do think D/Capri escaped somehow in the end, Capri reaching towards that satellite or whatever it was in the sky had to mean something. D definitely carried the show in the beginning, but I really became more invested in Talia along with her dynamics between Roman/Weak. Overall, I'd rate it a 7/10, I just wish they built out the characters more.

DonDuh103

Drizzle in the forecast but who’s side is the drizzle on😫😫

DonDuh103

Weak Kingsley just got, You are not the father 😭😭😭😭

DonDuh103

Noble 6 passed on Cortana and held the line and Noble D held the line, but did he pass on Capri??? Maybe to the moon, to Lucy🙏🙏

DonDuh103

The wills of David’s🫡🫡🫡🫡

DonDuh103

Geks thank you for the binge grind. I just finished it with yall! I really liked it but feel exactly the same way yall feel basically. I put season 1 over 2 and a decent size gap. Whats crazy is people are already saying season 2 is better then season 1 just like Baruto fans saying Barutos better then Naruto🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

DonDuh103

I really hope some of the comments and numbers don’t discourage Geks from doing what they want to. I love that they did this binge it was fun and if they have a season 3 they binge that one as well!!!

DonDuh103

I definitely like when they make multiple characters equally as important but agree it needed the extra episodes in order to fulfill that goal of multiple character plots. Maybe they will up the episode next time if there’s a season 3. They could do a stranger thing and drop half the episode one month and the other half next to hype up the show more and make people really anticipate a great ending?

DonDuh103

Honestly if they had better music it would have sold it for me. Music gos a long way to help a scene hit harder. Was really hoping for some songs like the second teaser trailer😫

Earthshatter

S1 is going out with a bang and S2 is living a peaceful life. Love the dichotomy of em. S1 one was all bout keep fighting the inevitable while S2 is about enjoying the moment before the inevitable. I rate both seasons the same but some of my friends say I was too harsh on S1. Wish both seasons had more EPs to truly delve in the characters

Earthshatter

NGL I see this going on a lot but I personally love all the songs

Term

i'd love to see them react to this

DonDuh103

Are David’s didn’t go home😭😭Why they lying in the title or is it telling us the truth😭IDK if I hate it cause it’s wrong or a One Piece title spoiler😭😭 I blame Odas Toei studio😂😂

Ikky

I'd give this season a 5/10. The first episode was good, and I liked the David Martinez mention, but other than that, nothing really stood out. The characters were cool, but I just couldn't get attached to any of them. The ending felt rushed too. Oh well, at least we got a Cyberpunk game update.

Limes_taste_good

I really like this season, but it definitely didn't hit as hard as season 1. Im sure they'll break our hearts next season

Minco

Im curious whatll be said about this season in the following years. I feel like this is one of those seasons where on release its so attached to the previous that its hard not to compare. Im hoping in a few months or a year I can rewatch this and be blown away by what they were trying. But I just cant see it yet. And I think that's what everyone thinks right now. Theres a vision but I just cant see it yet.

forthwanderer

I feel like this is a love letter to old sci fi anime. a lot of this reminded me a lot of cowboy bebop, stand alone complex (please watch), definitely a lot of akira and arcane for sure. but despite that I feel like it had its own identity and wasnt afraid to take its time which to me is a breath of fresh air in modern anime when everything feels like it has to go in guns blazing, fight scene every 3 seconds, etc.. I also really like how it could subvert our expectations and have a generally optimistic ending, I feel like its harder to make an good story with a optimistic tone than it is to make a bad story with a pessimistic tone. there was just enough deaths to cause stakes and to complete certain characters story arcs. so overall I loved it I’d give it a strong 9 if not higher upon rewatch

Justin ⟢

Just binged this in like two days. It was really good. The narrative I felt was tighter and I liked the characters more in this season compared to s1 (as a whole). Though I'd still give s1 a slight edge because of the emotional impact and the fact that there were higher stakes.

Ninjinzo

this is after the game, where Adam Smasher is dead

Conk

Lot worse than season 1. 3/10

TheWizOz

It's a parallel to David Martinez story, D literally spells it out for us. Martinez was fulfilled by fulfilling the dreams and desires of others, whilst D realizes that all this time he had been fulfilling the perceived revenge of others after he discovers it's meaninglessness, he saw that parallel in Capri as well, when the only thing the both of them wanted was to have some fun. Talia is another example, putting on more and more cyberwear to stay alive and at least appear healthy and fit, when really she just needed her mother and father to be there for her, no matter how short her time or the deterioration of her body. King is the most grounded perspective in all of this, a realistic mix of them all that's grounded, someone who has to find their purpose as they get no big climax or bombastic ending to make sense of it all. And Roman is us, the viewers, just trying to catch a glimpse of their authentic natures.

TheWizOz

Yes, she knew the distress her condition caused on her family (mother), and realistically that she would go before her mom, so she wanted to be remembered in the best way in that case. In truth she didn't need to put on cyberwear, she did that for them, when in truth she just wanted them to be there no matter her time left or condition.

TheWizOz

Nah, more like a Chihuahua, don't forget, this is Arasake after what V did to them XD

TheWizOz

Loved it, animation was obviously better being years apart, comparable sound scape, and several memorable characters like S1, although none quite to the lvl of Martinez. Overall great sequel, which I hold to be up to par with the previous season, they merely tell different kinds of stories. S1 was a roller coaster that leaves you feeling emotional, S2 was a well balanced meal that leaves you satisfied, two halves of the same coin with pertinent messages that compliment each other.

Zess

They stayed up all night and then watched the rest first thing in the morning. That being an occasional thing for a special occasion is sustainable, doing that everyday for every single show is not lol

Zess

I dont have the same read on D's final send off. Capri was getting destroyed regardless of his involvement at the end there, the air strike was already called before he even got her back. I think his final move wasnt revenge, which is what he just worked through since chasing revenge ended up being pointless and he was lost after realizing that. It also was Capri acting differently than the Capri he knew in that short time. I think he just realized Capri was the last thing to make him happy in years since his clans death, and just wanted to "save" her along with himself by going out having the "fun" they had together. I also think he joined her digitally in the constructs form and went off to the satellite, ditching the flesh lol

Zess

I definitely agree this story needed more episodes compared to s1. S1 probably could have done more as well just for characters in particular, but it told the story completely within that time frame. This one could have done with more for sure, it's still kind of loose on what even happened between Talia and her father in the past. I had a completely different read in the early part of the show, and then it didnt go that direction and implied something different, but then she would have moments it didnt feel like she hated him, and then would go back to hating him. Just an example of a specific story beat that wasnt fleshed out completely.

Zipzzty

4:45 Job aint finished 😭😭

14:40 Real Peak Game

Daniel Stears

Good season overall: 7.5/10. Season 1 was somewhere between an 8.5 and a 9 for me. Funny how Season 1's combination of quality and very short length made Cannon have some great criticisms about how this season could have been improved even further. But while I agree with most of what you said and I think there are even more stuff they could have done, 10 episodes was not enough to do that AND progress the plot.

jrnoodles

Thanks Geks! Carter said it, can't be named David in this verse.

DonDuh103

They were super quiet I went to go listen to the track list after and there are some good songs but didn’t notice cause it was so quiet

Zipzzty

W Season 2
