Yeah, the movie is based on the manga. The manga stars with chapter 0.1 to 0.4, which you’ll see in the movie. Then the anime starts on chapter 1 from the the manga. So yeah, the movie is a prequel that’s completely manga based.

nans

yes the movie was written as a one shot manga before gege akutami (the author) started writing the main story of jjk

I just love Nanami's introduction, I hope you guys enjoy getting to know him the next couple of episodes!

Joie Dianzon 🇵🇭

Nevermind the tie.. I see that you have met my husband, Nanami Kento. 🥰😂😂😂 To be honest, he is the most loved character of the JJK fandom because he is not only easy to relate with, he is also a rare adult anime role model due to the fact that he recognizes the teenagers as kids, and therefore their lives should be protected instead of putting adult responsibilities for them to deal with. ❤️

Studze Kisiel

You've just met a character most of the fandom loves

Mia Malvik

Nanami being a jujutsu sorcerer purely because it's a little less shit than work is relatable lol

bondbond53

Now you see why people really appreciate JJK as a breath of fresh air in shonen. The explanation of one's powers that characters monologue in these shows because they need to introduce them to the audience is used in JJK as a way of boosting one's power. It's a clever way of recognising these tropes in shonen shows and using them to their benefit without sounding old-fashioned.

lola

Im gonna need y’all to plow through these eps cause there’s still so much I want y’all to see 😭

Carrie

Oikawa cameo at 13:12 for any fellow Haikyuu fans!! lol

Jeremy

Mahito and doma don’t have the same voice actor but doma and light yagami do have the same voice actor

Riya

Melizé

Nanamiiii! His VA is the same as Hannes from AoT

Acoleyte

The JJK manga had a 4 chapter "One Shot" before the full manga was greenlit for serialization. It was so successful, Shonen Jump decided to give the author (Gege Akutami) a full series. That One Shot is what the movie is about. It technically was the first thing of JJK to ever come out, but in the anime they elected to adapt the manga first, and then go back and do those 4 chapters as a movie. That's why a lot of the dialogue talks as if you already know who Yuta Okkotsu is.

Love Nanami! Same va as Overhaul in MHA one of my favorite villains in that show! Nanami has some sick moments this season

Abigail Jerry

Tbf I think a similar thing is used in Bleach - which is apparently a big inspiration behind JJK

Ayn Orbuda

Mattchu
