s2 has been sooo good. the animation is crazy

thimbleborg

lol no need to apologize over some rando tweaking about the episode being a few hours late

Despite some cool (albeit short) fights, I’m calling it now that this should be the least interesting episode of the season if everything goes well, and it still was very enjoyable

thanks for the foooood 🙏

Another 10/10 episode. Its gonna get soooooo insane

Toji isn't just Megumi's dad, he's mine too 😮‍💨

Hearing brigg say he falls asleep watching nuzlockes which is LITERALLY what I do is so funny

Achilles and the tortoise is basically a race between the two. The tortoise gets a head start and Achilles tries to catch up. However, each time Achilles reaches a certain point behind the tortoise, there is a new point that he has to get to. The paradox basically says that he has to reach an infinite amount of points behind the tortoise to catch up. That’s the gist of the paradox 👍

its so nice having mckay being a manga reader and seeing his reactions as well! especially whenever the rest of you are theorizing hahah. you guys have a great range of reactions as a group but also individually :)

mechuri131

as a manga reader, watching the discussion about DE is... very interesting 😏

the paradox of Achilles and the tortoise is essentially a paradox of traversing any finite distance. the idea is that suppose you have a tortoise 1 metre in front of Achilles and the tortoise is moving and Achilles starts moving. As Achilles reaches the 1m mark that the tortoise was at, the tortoise is a bit further ahead, maybe 0.5m ahead at that point. then as Achilles reaches that point the tortoise would still be 0.25m ahead and then on and on and on. the idea is that you cant ever overtake the tortoise bc as you get to where the tortoise previously was, there's a further distance to go, and it's essentially a mathematical problem that can be solved pretty easily with calculus. so while once upon a time the paradox perplexed people, our current understanding of mathematics answers it very easily

Getting calc 2 ptsd rn after listening to gojo explain his technique

Imo it’s a misconception that Gege (the mangaka) hates Gojo, I think it’s just an ongoing gag. He’s made comments in bonus pages & interviews that poke fun at Gojo, but I get the sense he’s a bit of a troll so I don’t think the “hate” is that serious Gojo is written as an arrogant, annoying, and morally gray character, so Gege likes to rag on him for being more popular than other, less insufferable characters. For example he’s said that women who are Gojo simps should choose Nanami instead 😂 which like, that’s valid but I think he’s just goofing

I mean you shouldn't even need math or calculus right, if the tortoise was 0.5m ahead after the first meter then achilles would be twice as fast, which means he's immediately catching up on the 2m mark, kind of anticlimactic considering it's meant to be about infinity lol

well speed is irrelevant to the paradox. the point is just that by the time you get to where the tortoise was last at, the tortoise has moved further down. then by the time youve gotten to where its at again its moved along, and then again, and again. it basically hinges on the infinite sequence of events which seem to be something that cant be elapsed. now this actually was a problem for a while, but we understand now that its a convergent series that converges to 1. namely, 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 +1/16 + ... = 1 so actually you CAN traverse that space because the infinite series DOES converge

Gojo taking a selfie with his dead opps is craaazy thats next level thuggery

The Gojo clan is one of the 3 major clan of exorcists with the Zen'in clan and the Kamo clan, so yes ^^ There is a Gojo clan

@kiitkurii The problem is that when achilles reaches that 1m point, he then needs to catch up another 0.5m. By the time he does that, the tortoise is then another 0.25m ahead. By the time achilles catches up to that, the tortoise is then another 0.125m ahead...etc, etc. Speed is irrelevant cause what's really changing is the time frame in which you're measuring. If achilles moves at 1 m/s, and the tortoise at 0.5 m/s then yes after 2 s he'll have caught up, but until that moment actually comes, he'll never catch up.

I'd really love to clarify a misconception about Gege's (Author) views on Gojo. No, Gege doesn't hate Gojo. At the very most, Gege gets irritated by Gojo because he made a character so strong that he gets in the way of the plot and other characters developments. You'll see this demonstrated when Gojo is coincidentally "away" from the story in s1 during desperate times, or how he wasn't able to break the barrier super quickly when Jujutsu Tech got invaded. Although, he does actually travel a lot as stated in the Light Novels, so it's not totally a sneak out by Gege.

Joie Dianzon

Both Gege (author) and Nakamura (VA) roasts Gojo to death, saying they will never understand his popularity with the ladies. I have to say, creating an OP character and having it voiced by an amazing voice actor, who can blame the ladies? 😅😅😅 Note: Gege advised fans to pick Nanami.. in one of those character popularity polls. Favoritism, eh?

Edwin

Peakland?

NESSA

In East Asian culture, placing your chopsticks upwards in your bowl or food is believed to give bad luck and is a sign of death/someone will die. Just a reference and something to think about when looking at that (ominously weird) scene of Toji's bowl of food.

hihi i love this episode but i just recently bought the juciy tier yet i don’t have access to the aot videos? just wondering if they’ll be unlocked 🫶

studiogek
>>112982801

Yes they will! By the end of the weekend, the tier is still very new so we just have to unlock them all

kiiturii
>>112915117

if he's catching up then he is moving faster by definition no? I guess if you remove that part of the equation and only look inside the box then I understand what the problem is about, but it feels kind of engineered to me since the whole paradox was proposed as achilles knew he was faster and the tortoise tricked him by asking for the headstart, because then it's impossible for achilles to catch up. Adding in the concept of time ruins the whole thing. But yeah I do get what it's about now

Joker
>>112915117

eventually, Achilles would be like a millimeter behind the tortoise so obviously, common sense tells us he's gonna pass. but if we restrict ourselves purely to the theoretic shit, even when the tortoise is the distance of a hair away, there's still that distance, and then half that distance bc the tortoise has moved again, and again so it's like how can I ever get to the tortoise if there's always more (even if that 'more' is so fucking tiny)? well, the answer is because the series converges to 1 so you can elapse that distance.

JIMBO

lmao the fact you guys wacth mr fruit nuzlockes is so insane to me but then again you guys are OG destiny players so it does kinda make sense aswell

Hunter Snider

Loll so weird to open the video and hear the first thing you talk about be Nuzlocke videos, I'm hugely into them myself and do my own challenges. Brigg, if you haven't watched him already I highly recommend FlygonHG's videos, he's the Nuzlocke content GOAT imo.

sushi

Gojo is his last name, so yes he is apart of the Gojo clan.
