BrianTheWoeful

Hey gang, do you plan on doing a tier list or ranking of all the anime/shows you've seen so far? I like listening to you guys discuss when I'm working

BrianTheWoeful

Also can not wait to jump into these reactions after Chainsaw Man

szeth

I’m aware this is a controversial opinion lol but the first 12 I loved but the next chunk I didn’t like so much. Tbh hope you guys love it tho

I think they said at the end of the year or something on someone else’s comment about that on a different ep

James

PEAKLAND!!!

Kim555

right when I got my food. Gonna cry

blitzman08

Vinland's popularity has skyrocketed this past year

DerekSniper30

Anyone else think of Griffith from Berserk when King Sweyn tells Canute to "Keep going. You'll need to pile up plenty of bodies to reach the top?"

Adri

I hope at some point they will react to Tokyo revengers !!

Abigail Jerry

I’m so glad y’all didn’t give up on this show. Season 2, unfortunately, still doesn’t have NEAR the traction it deserves. Season 2 storytelling and writing is out of this world. And y’all getting into the nitty gritty 🔥🔥🔥

JDang

LOL the mappa/wit talk is funny; the season 2 staff is the same as the season 1 wit staff its just under a new production studio name(director works at mappa now, animators were freelancer for s1) hence the similar feel

J

Next 12 episodes are peak 🙏

lola

Loved the reaction! And don’t worry guys Vinland’s popularity has SKYROCKETED after this season. It’s left a huge impression on the anime community. A lot of people were confused with the change of pace but the season made a lot of people follow the show. I think by season 3 we’ll see VS as having almost the same amount of followers as AOT, DS, etc. at least that’s what it seems with the way it’s become so popular. Btw, please listen to next new opening song. I think it starts next episode. It’s one of my favorite VS openings!

Be so foreal… the next cour is quite literally PEAK.

Dio

I don't think this all happened because of Olmar. Canute was going to try and get Ketil's land one way or another.

C2-H5-OH

When I was watching this episode, the moment I saw the coin hit the soldier's eye my first thought was "Ooooh Carter's gonna hate this lmao"

C2-H5-OH

Two full episodes without Thorfinn, Einar, farming.. And yet here we all are, hooked to the bone

Yessir we are probably going to be doing it at the end of the year and do a whole bunch of tier list videos

Vinland Saga doesn't have as large of an audience, I think, because it's pretty introspective and philosophical and the average anime fan is in it for the fight scenes. Not a bad thing, but the battle shounen animes tend to really hone in on the "hype" moments (which I also really like when it's done well) and that kind of show is definitely more marketable. But what I think makes Vinland shine is the storytelling and the overall journey you go on with the characters. Seeing the evolution of a character is emotional in Vinland Saga. I don't think I've ever wished for a character's happiness more than Thorfinn's. The guy makes a friend and smiles for the first time in 15 years and I'm misty eyed lol. He laughs and I have tears streaming down my face. And even though the fanbase isn't huge, I think it's just as dedicated as the AOT fandom. The fans that love this show; LOVE this show (me lol).

adam

thorgil might be one of my favorite character this season along with snake, snake reminds of me of askleadd on how calm and calculated he is and thorgil is just a beast that reminds me of the whole season 1 vibe

Caleb
>>113026529

Real, aot was the goat for me, until i watched season 2

Nicolas Martinez

Fun fact and spoilers if u someone who reads comments before hand: I believe I read somewhere that the author of VS actually messed up on the thorgil fight scene by accidentally drawing thorgil using the wrong hand when grabbing the sword. He came out and said it was a genuine mistake but what does mappa do with this info …. They say nah bump it make him ambidextrous and dual-wield them in order to make it flow a lot better.

Caleb

Its actually the same animation and artist team that did the first season, thats why its the same if not better art style and detail

James

Yeah, people aren't really interested in anime/shows with good writing these days. Vinland Saga does have some good action scenes in it, but that isn't really the point of the show. I've started buying the manga for Vinland Saga and this is the time in my 25 years of watching anime that I bought any manga. Season 2 ended very well, and I can't wait 2-3 years for season 3 to come out (unless MAPPA gets their priorities straight).

Murphy

vinland so underrated

Yuri

2×23 is really good! I can’t wait to see your reaction until then. More Vinland please~

Cation

Everyone who has the name "Thor" as in Thors,Thorgill, Thorkell and Thorfinn are fucking loose units lmao. Fasten your seat belt guys, part 2 of this season is S-tier!!

Izaya

Damn, why do these guys hate Olmar so much? It feels so forced

Henrique I. Pereira
>>113020307

Nah, this season havent got 20% of the traction the first one god. But it's how things are meant to be, this season filter outs the fake fans

chermo19

McKay was like “come on stop crying Olmar, kill him, omg I hate Olmar” and then after he kills him you were like “farm is gone and all because of you Olmar, you stupid” i know that you are not supposed to like him atp, but you are encouraging him to do something the show is telling you is bad and btw Canute would’ve take this farm anyway

Shpitz

I mean olmar reminds you of a young thorfin, dreaming about war and killing naively and not getting how good he has it. That being said, thorfin was like 5..

lola
>>113086894

To their defense, Olmar was very fucking annoying in the first cour. Also, who cares if they want to see action. Yeah it goes against the Author’s message but not many people will understand the message at this point in time. Usually only those that read the manga know that Vinland is supposed to showcase the author’s beliefs of pacifism.

lola

Comment section getting weird. Y’all understand they’re not supposed to like Olmar at this point in time right? Also, they don’t need to like Olmar at all. To each their own. Stop telling people how to feel about certain characters and let the boys experience Vinland saga in their own way. People can have differing opinions and that is OKAY. Since when were people so touchy about this anime? I need y’all to stop getting so defensive about everything. It’s been like this since they started the season and it’s getting annoying af.

chermo19
>>113086894

yeah, i understand that he should be annoying, i’m just saying they should choose why is he annoying, because they hate him for not wanting to kill guard, and 5 min later they hate him for killing guard lol

chermo19
>>113151731

i would like for them to hate Olmar at this stage, because it’s the whole point, the problem is that they hate him for something they told him to do 5 min before (sorry not all of them, just McKay)

Audreyldo

I feel you Carter!! The music is one of my favorite ever 🥹 And the scene you was talking about is one of the best in my books too🤌🏼

BubblePriest

"How do you see this and let yourself go down the path?" Have you seen Cyperpunk EdgeRunners?!?!

BubblePriest

Not gonna lie, searching vinland saga in this patreon is cancer.

Sasha

Jail time for Brig.

Alison

This reminds me of the quote from Batman, "You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain."
