We have heard so much about this show coming out in January and have just no clue about anything regarding it, so we wanted to do some discovering

The manhwa bored me but I’m looking forward to the anime, as long as it doesn’t get the God of Highschool treatment

milky

Solo Leveling was one of the first Korean manhwa that got me interested in reading more manhwa

PantsuParty

Are we gonna get some HxH/FMAB episodes tonight?

T K

No way, this is what I least expected but look forward to your reaction.

Alexis

The manhwa has great art, the story is mid, especially the end. However, for someone who has probably never read any tower korean manhwa, it's still gonna be fun, it was my first tower manhwa, I really liked it too when I was a manhwa newbie. Other people like me who have read 30+ tower manhwa, know this shit is so cliché and predictable.

Emily

Any full metal today?

studiogek

This trailer was absolutely insane. Looks so good

Poragami

It's one of, if not, the biggest Manhwa out there. For anyone that doesn't know what a Manhwa is, a Manhwa is basically a manga, just with colors and not always in black&white.

bondbond53

Guys I just really hope you don't burn out yourself on anime with how many shows you're watching

Lauryn

Looking forward to the reaction! Hopefully we’ll also see some fmab this weekend 👀👀

Mia Malvik

That was definitely not Korean, this is Japanese but the manhwa is korean. U can tell by the names for example

TheBookerDeWitt

In A1 Pictures we trust. Have faith everyone 🙏

CRuEL_WOrlD

An anime i recommend yall should watch is Violet Evergarden. It an eye candy and the storytelling is peak

Takari

I've read the manhwa just recently (before I even knew that anime is coming), and it was really good, but I heard that there are gonna be some changes in the plot, so I'm a little nervous

EaterOfRice23

the stories no aot or vinland but the mc and the art more than make up for it imo

Mia Malvik

Yaa true! I edited my comment to clarify🦦 I meant the language spoken, because Cannon and Carter were discussing whether it was Japanese or Korean

Joydan Bri’an

read the manhwa a few years ago and the story is alright. i’m most excited for how they’ll animate everything because the manhwa art is beautiful and the use of colors are so nice. just hoping it won’t turn out like the god of high school

Chrisiyyi

I hear you guys talk about beserk, did you guys started reading it??

Kyle

is this an isekai? 😭 looks good tho

Poragami
>>117626287

Well, basically what i just said. It's basically a Manga, just with colors.

Anonymous

The hype for solo levelling comes from the manhwa (Korean manga). The anime looks super good but apparently the Japanese studio producing it is making adjustments to the og story T_T

Merielle

I was not expecting this, a lovely surprise! I love solo leveling, I haven't finished it and I've heard the ending is mid, but I don't care lol. The art is beautiful, the characters are cool, the powers are awesome, it's all just my cup of tea. I'm a bit apprehensive about this adaptation since I heard that they're changing a few things, but I'm definitely willing to give it a shot. I'll be watching this trailer for the first time with the boys, so I hope it's good! If you all wanna delve a little into manwha/manhua, Return of the Mount Hua Sect, The Beginning After the End, and Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, are some of the popular ones I highly recommend:)

>>117626769

They were speaking in Japanese (all the voice actors are Japanese, which makes sense since its produced by a Japanese studio) but the characters names are in Korean.

Shpitz

The manhwa is fun, I think gigguk described it well as a great power fantasy. It's super bingeble and if you want to read something on the bus/train it's great for that. Other than that the story isn't very gripping, and there's not much depth, and the main character has no discernable personality. I won't be following the anime weekly, might binge it when it's done. Would recommend tower of god to anyone who wants a better story

James

Personally for me, this anime doesn't seem like it's going to stand out from most of the other anime shows out there, but I guess there's a reason for the hype behind it.

BipolarKitten

Same with me. First time heard this but looks good.

studiogek

Love sharing the hype with you guys, cant wait for this! We will be posting the FMAB and HXH episodes tomorrow!

BipolarKitten

Both Carter and Cannon recognized Hiroyuki Sawano. I'm tearing up. So proud.

DeadLotus

AHHHHHH god I absolutely love this manhwa. The plot is crazy and the art is 🔥🔥🔥

DeadLotus

Oh also I'm not sure if this was already said but Cannon was spot on. The manhwa is Korean but a Japanese studio is animating it. And bc of that there's been alot of talk about a particular arc later in series and whether or not it'll be animated exactly or changed

jordan solomon

i have volume 1 of solo leveling!!! haven’t read it yet but im stoked

Starkfern

It's alright I guess, haven't read it in a few years tho

Jengit

Well this is exciting! I completely forgot about the adaption, the manhwa was just great and the visuals look as great as the source material. The hype is real!

Lily

If you can, please check the trailer for 「Pluto」 on Netflix too! This manga was written by Naoki Urasawa, a genius suspense kinda manga writer in Japan. Also, Pluto is based on an anime/manga, which is a hommage for one of the oldest Japanese anime called 「Astro boy」 by legend and pioneer manga writer Osamu Tezuka. The target audience for Urasawa's works is adults, so less action, and it is different from Shonen. But I thought making this animation in this era was dope, and the trailer is worth watching!

Teddy

To provide more context : so the series is based off a Korean webtoon (which is a form of web-comic that's huge in Korea), and a Japanese animation studio acquired the rights to make an adaptation of it. So, the anime is Japanese, but the original story is a Korean manhwa (which is Korean for comic. It's different from manga). The original webtoon was a huge hit globally, which is why there's a lot of hype for the anime adaptation!

Teddy

And for a bit more context - Korea is extremely digitalized and high tech, but that also means they don't consume or invest in the manhwa (book) and animation industry like Japan does. So another reason why they gave it to a Japanese studio is because Korea doesn't have much experience in animation while as we all know Japan is the goat when it comes to anime. I would say Korea is much more competent in live movies and tv shows like Parasite and Squid game.. which you guys should react to one day!

blabber90
>>117640508

👏🏻 My fellow Korean bro ty for the in depth context, ngl as a Korean was getting annoyed with some of these people calling it manga when its MANHWA, like use the actual term. But yes everything you said is 💯. Also I'm guessing you're Korean as well based on your last name if not, my fault 😅 but talking about Korean tv shows, idk if you checked out 'the glory' yet if you haven't, you should! Totally an S tier show.

Teddy
>>117640508

Lol i'm korean american so yeah I also get triggered when ppl call manhwa manga 😂 but at the same time it's understandable that most don't know

ABC

It's basically Korean Demon Slayer, only popular because of it's god tier art, but the story is mid. I still enjoyed it though so if they do a good job with the animation, it should still be pretty good.

rosa_gris

Was not expecting a Solo Leveling reaction. I followed it the webtoon for a while, but never completed it. The story is decent; it’s a good introduction to the Korean dungeon-hunting/system-leveling genre, but it would be boring for people who are already deep into it. The powers and fights were pretty hype, and the manhwa art is gorgeous. A lot of the appeal comes from the visuals, so for the anime to be successful, it needs to have amazing animation. Since A1 and Hiroyuki Sawano are involved, I’m pretty excited for it. I hope that with the popularity of the Solo Leveling anime, other Korean webtoons and webnovels get adapted 🤞(manifesting Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint).

blabber90
>>117640508

and yes I'm Korean American as well lol. I do understand since the Korean manhwas and webtoons aren't popular compared to the Japanese mangas but dang can't help the annoyance 😅

ABC

I would be much more hyped for a season 2 of Tower of God (as long as they don't condense 75+ chapters into 12 episodes again). Tower of God is an ongoing Korean manhwa with 500+ chapters out currently that has a sick story, great characters, and amazing worldbuilding unlike Solo Leveling.

ssj4rit
>>117642648

All manhwa for some reason get shit treatment in adaptations. Tower of God had the most potential but they ruined it lol

ssj4rit
>>117639903

Much more excited for Pluto tbh. Urasawa writes really good psychological series.

Teddy
>>117642648

Tower of god is def one of the best webtoons ever, but its animation was shit ngl

ABC
>>117642648

I don't think they ruined it yet, if they improve the animation and slow down the pace and actually adapt all elements of the story, season 2 of Tower of God would be sick. Season 1 was the prologue and the art in the webtoon was kind of bad at that time too. So as long as they do a good job with season 2, they can definitely revive it and make it one of the best anime.

ABC

There are so many good Korean and Chinese light novels that I've read that I wish would get an anime or even a manga adaptation, but sadly they don't have the manga and anime foundations that Japan has so we never get to see them. If you hear some hype for an upcoming anime and you don't know where it's coming from, generally that upcoming anime has a good manga or light novel. General life of a story: Light novel → Manga → Anime → Live Action

neko

It's definitely not Aot level or any all time anime level. However, the manhwa(source material) is still a very enjoyable read. Glad that we are getting another manhwa adaptation! Edit: The reason why this adaptation is so hyped is because Solo Leveling is the most well known manhwa of all time. Most readers that read manhwa knows the existence of Solo Leveling.

kiiturii

I'm so hyped ya'll noticed and got excited about the music being done by Hiroyuki Sawano as well lmao

Ale

The thing is that Solo Leveling is one of the most (if not the most) famous manhwa out there, so it's super hyped. I started reading it, the art is amazing (I highly think that's the reason is so popular) this genre it's not exactly my cup of tea, but if the animation is good I would certainly enjoy it. This is a Korean story but is adapted in Japan, the language on the trailers was japanese, there are a few other manhwa that has been adapted in Japan, like Tower of God, Noblesse, The God of High school are the ones I can remember right now.

Airex

tbf i heard a saw a bit pf solo leveling but god damn it was disappointing, but if u like it u should give it a go, tho im more excited about hxh

Lukash
>>117647365

will there be new HxH series released? are they actually going to finish the show?

Poragami
>>117647365

kind of a bad take, but if it's ur opinion, sure. i read Solo Leveling and was up to date(when it still came weekly) before i knew it lol

fa al

How about Japanese drama SPEC? It has many mysteries, humors, twists, quirk charactors and surprises. Sometimes there are many serious scenes. This drama was a big hit and famous.

Airex
>>117647365

it was confirmed my Yoshihiro (the creator) but we didnt get any release date so yeah

devakira

This is in relation to hxh's reaction tomorrow but I hope you watch 5 episodes (34/38) instead of 4 so you can finish at the end of the arc and have a satisfying ending! >:D

BigManSirob
>>117647365

If you're talking about that one tweet where he said that he was working on an "episode", it was a mistranslation. What he actually said was that he was working on a "chapter".

Airex
>>117647365

nah he did say the anime is returning BUT because were not getting much updates anymore the anime may take 1-2 more years not release date but it will take more than it should have by 1-2 years

MaraReaper

Any estimate on when Neon Genesis reactions will be uploaded?

devakira
>>117667770

Same, I really wish they would go back to 6 episodes but unfortunately I don't think that will ever be the case again... Plus I'm really disappointed they stopped at the 37th episode...

Sleeleelee

I love how they watched all the trailers, and he still couldn't grasp the world they live in lol They explained it in the first 3 sentences in the second or third one they watched.

Aapo

2:16 that looks a lot like the smiling titan from aot😅

Itzhara Carreño

The one thing I hate about trailers for shows is how they sometimes be showin a lil too much😭 I cannottt watch show trailers
