We're missing a few people for thanksgiving this week so we decided to do single uploads so we could have them for the S2 finale. ALSO something weird happened to the mic idk why but the audio is a bit weird in this one but the ep was still UNREAL!

in case it hasn’t already been brought up, the voice actor for Iroh passed away in 2006 which was during the release for this series and Iroh’s tale was dedicated to him. Which i think is very beautiful ❤️ RIP Mako Iwamatsu

Wanna cry again? In “The tale of Aang,” the little girl who said “Fluffykins, what are you doing down there?” was voiced by a girl with cancer. She got a make-a-wish and wanted to go to meet the cast and crew, but the creators wrote that line in for her AND designed the character after her. And she later beat cancer 🎉

I think Zuko acted like that on the date because by this point receiving affection from someone else other than Iroh feels very unnatural for him. I think the way he feels about himself, that all he is good for is to suffer, poisons any new positive relationship he could have. I think it's a bit like the impostor syndrome.

The story goes that Mako, the voice actor for Iroh in seasons 1 and 2, recorded "Leaves from the Vine" on his death bed. I don't know how true that story is, but I believe the creators of the show at least knew Mako was dying when they wrote The Tale of Iroh. Greg Baldwin would replace Mako for some minor parts of season 2 that Mako hadn't recorded yet as well as all of season 3, but Greg still treats the voice of Iroh as Mako's role. He was simply brought in because they needed someone as a replacement. He won't even do the voice for fans at conventions or anything since he doesn't consider it his role. He treats Mako and the voice of Iroh with the utmost respect.

General Iroh kept his feelings intact while singing for the infant, but he let go while singing for his lost son. There's just no words for how well it was done. This is for me Rank 2 of all ATLA episodes, and I'm sure for everyone on a rewatch know which one is Rank 1. What a wonderful show!

Guys its literally Thanksgiving… I doubt they will upload JJK today cause its a family holiday and they should be spending time with the people they love. Even if you dont celebrate the holiday at least understand they deserve a day off.
