They still present it as sharing wealth and prosperity to their own people as you can get from Zuko's speech. "Sharing wealth and prosperity" is the political wrapping of colonialism and genocide but much easier to convince your own people to.

"It was cruel and it was wrong". One of my favorite lines from this series. You don't see much portrayal of parental physical abuse in children's media. This scene is crazy meaningful to have Zuko, a child, stand up to his abuser and recognize that nothing justified his mistreatment. Def teaches kids what an unhealthy and unjust parental relationship looks like. More importantly though, that it is NEVER the child's fault.

Dante Basco does such a good job as Zuko, and the funny thing is the Zuko voice is just his default voice. Must be nice having the coolest voice in existence.
