What an incredible finale to an incredible show🥹 We can't wait (anxiously/excitedly) to see the live action in a few weeks! Those will be posted as soon as they drop!

Also I added in an edit I recently found that we showed everyone later that night and added it to the end of the vid. Shoutout to the creator for the incredible work!

I'm dying to know what's the replacement of ATLA?

Goatchis

It's been a great journey guys, my favorite reactors watching my favorite show. I feel so lucky and am stoked to keep following this crew through their anime journey!

Bibi
>>126991772

either more HxH or they might do a poll I think... 🤔

studiogek
>>126991772

We have a surprise series coming soon.... with the release of the live action its gonna make things interesting with the schedule but we do have another non anime show that we are going to start!

Bibi

If you guys are looking for something to replace ATLA may I recommend a short anime called "The Promised Neverland"? It only has 1 season with 12 episodes and we don't know if we will ever get a season 2! I think it's something refreshing to watch 😊

Hachiko
>>126992410

nah bro "we don't know if we will ever get a season 2" is the biggest copium 💀

LuvStarburst

I may have seen all the anime you guys have watched but it is a great journey to rewatch it all with you guys.

jemmy

YASSSS

Jyle
>>126992410

There is a season 2 I’ve watched it but they didn’t adapt the arcs from the manga correctly so a lot of people were upset.

Michelle

please react to the legend of korra next! 😩

kai

yall better watch korra

Antique-Item

Thank god someone knew why Katara couldn’t blood bend

Jed

Please watch Korra next or eventually!!! Its actually top tier just like ATLA!

Antique-Item

Katara not deserving Aang is an insane take

jason 𒉭

finally!!!! loved watching you guys react to this show the nostalgia man

jason 𒉭

is this the surprise?

A_Daddy Daichi

I’d definitely recommend to react to Korra at some point!!!

CHIEF

Really don't want to ruin anyone's fun but I gotta be honest, I don't think you should bother with Korra. I see a lot of ppl recommending it and I don't want to ruin the show for anyone or insult people who do like it, but I really don't think yall would. I'm not gonna rant about my problems with it or really even care if you do watch it, and for those who like it that's honestly great, but with everyone suggesting it I wanted to provide the counter is all, hopefully I'm not alone lmao. Otherwise, Avatar is amazing, one of my top 5 finales on tv, yall the goats.

idk

What is the weekend surprise 👀I’m in Europe so it’s Monday for me now, do you know what time it’ll drop?

John Paul

Enough to make a grown man cry

Bbpop

Avatar Korrra next!

Lexi Browning

There are so many things I can list about how a Zuko and Katara endgame would’ve been perfection. Like how they are definition of harmony (fire and water) and how Aang’s first heartbreak could’ve played a major role in building the maturity he would’ve needed to face the fire lord. Especially since Zuko, the person who took his girl, would be teaching him. But I digress. I hope you all watch Korra! So many of your questions are answered in that show

ssj4rit
>>126997140

I don't think there's any harm in watching it, though I agree it's not as good as ATLA.

idk
>>126997801

I mean I doubt it since it was in a schedule so it’s not a surprise, besides in their last atla video they said they’d be dropping all parts of the finale in 1 episode, but maybe idk we will see

Legendarygamer

its important to remember that azula is still stronger than zuko, she was just not in the right mental state during the fight. so even though it seems like they were equal or zuko even a little stronger, its because of her being at her lowest. Im still surprised that she could lightning bend in that state tho

Sylisen E.

Are you going to watch Legends of Korra ?? it'd like it ^^

ssj4rit

So ever since it aired I think the finale is infamous for the big deus ex machina moments (namely the Lion Turtle, energybending and a rock solving Aang's chakra problems), but overall still a top tier ending and amazing finale.

ssj4rit
>>126997801

gotcha, well I'm not complaining if there's still a surprise coming

Denzel Mwandha

Y'all need to watch the legend of Korra next. It may not be as good as the original but its still a pretty fun show.

Thuy aka EroSennin

dang, ending with that zuko tiktok edit was lit. thanks for watching this and reacting to it <3 loved the addition of your sisters. they were very wholesome and engaged.

Ash

I love the scene where the extreme severity of the fire that was destroying the earth lands was captured by toph who can’t see! Loved that

Ash

It’s important noting that kataras hesitation isn’t because she’s unsure of her feelings towards Aang. We see her come to the conclusion that Aang is a potential love interest for her after the fortune teller episodes so she has had thoughts about Aang in a romantic sense while their friendship developed throughout the show- and what is love if not the purest form of companionship? What really was stopping katara from progressing was because the person that she loved most died and left her all alone. Katara had to consider the very real possibility that Aang could very well not come back from his battle with Ozai, albeit it was most likely unconsciously, and so as a defense mechanism she created that mental distance to allow her to come to terms with these feelings of potential great loss and fear. When Aang proves, by winning the battle with Ozai, that he’s gonna be sticking around and can hold his own, it reinforces katara to be strong enough to abandon her fears and go for her love :))) hope that made sense!! Gonna miss these reactions so much !!! PLZZZ watch Korra to fill the void

LuvStarburst

W edit and for Cannon to mention it so Carter can add it to the end of the video.

Ash
>>126995487

I know 😭😭😭my girl was his therapist throughout the show, freed him from the ice berg and betrayed her village for him (the first 2/3 episodes)

Ash
>>126997140

It’s deffo not as good as ATLA, andI completely get your point and your perspective on why not to watch it buttt I think we should encourage them to watch it and come up with their own perspective as well. Korra has many beautiful moments, and many bittersweet moments, especially the ones that connect back to ATLA so would be nice for them to see what we have as well :)))

Melizé

The ending was better than anything I had expected. And that edit at the end had me in tears! I am so glad I got to experience this with y'all ♥

DeadLotus

guys Korra?? Maybe?? Please??

DeadLotus

also SAMMMEEEE they stole ZukoxKatara from us😭

Tonis Tarc

So glad you watched this show ! I can understand why some people don't like the legend of Korra, but I also really think that it has a lot of good things, you should give it a chance. So looking forward for the live action!

CHIEF
>>126997140

I mean it would dilute the schedule imo, but that's just a single opinion, and they've been doing so many bangers I can stomach it lmao it'd be alright. And maybe the opinions among the group would be more diverse which could be interesting itself. Just figured I'd throw another perspective out there I wasn't seeing, ik it has its fans lol

Thicc Thanos

Gotta do Legend of Korra! It’s way better than ATLA and actually makes ATLA seem mid.

KORRA NEXT LET'S GOOO

neko

would love to see more of this coach react to more shows, it could Korra, any shows or even anime.

Mysterious Figure

No matter how many times I see Zuko and Iroh hug scene I always cry. I feel the same when Aang learns to stay true to himself and learns to bend spiritual energy... this to me symbolizes exactly what the meaning of what the Avatar is or should be to the World - a will so inspiring in a single person that it can inspire a change in the whole World.

C2-H5-OH

Zuko and Iroh's reunion is peak ATLA. Overloaded on wholesome

Gestrid
>>127007297

It's actually the only episode that used an orchestra for the soundtrack!

Tiga

Iroh/Zuko reunion always makes me cry too, Addie. Partly because we've been waiting so long for it, esp as Zuko has evolved and become what his uncle always wanted him to be (his own man with his earned honor). But also think of the LAST time Zuko disappointed/disrespected a father figure. He literally got burned in the face and shunned/exiled. Zuko was so nervous to see Iroh again probably because he expected Iroh to be so angry with him, like Ozai was. So it just hits 10000000x harder when Iroh shows him LOVE and FORGIVENESS despite what happened between them. That's what real love is and what a true father does for his son 😭

kiiturii

I told myself I wouldn't cry at the zuko iroh reunion again but I just couldn't help it as soon as Iroh looked over his shoulder at zuko the floodgates opened I don't think anything gets me as emotional as that scene even though I've seen it so many times now

Gestrid

It wasn't until you guys explained it that I finally understood what the Lion Turtle was talking about with purified light and an unbreakable spirit.

Gestrid

No matter how many times I watch it, I never get tired of this epic finale.

Jed

In the books Toph and Bumi have a friendly match to see who is a stronger earth bender and it ends up as a tie! Its insane how Toph is so strong for such a young age too, Bumi is 112 years old and a white lotus member and he still only tied with Toph! Really goes to show that she probably is the most talented bender in the entire ATLA universe along with Azula.

Nonos

I love these these extra big group reactions. At first I thought it might be a bit much but these reactions have been so fun. I hope we can bring addie and Maddie back occasionally for more show reactions 🔥

Seth Aasland

what i wouldn’t give to be spiritually enlightened by a lion-turtle

Seth Aasland

everyone leaning forward to watch the final agni kai was too real

Brady

I hope you guys get around to watching The Legend of Korra eventually. I'm definitely in the small minority with this take but I've grown to like it more than ATLA. I think the more mature themes/tone are what do it for me, along with more rewatchability (Book 1 of ATLA can be a bit of a slog to get through on a rewatch). Nevertheless I'm looking forward to the ATLA live action and your guys' reactions to it.

Wadzi

What happened to the big surprise?

Goatchis
>>127014584

A certain love triangle and how long it lasts make korra rewatches a drag for me, love season 3 and 4 tho

kiiturii

needed mckay's final thoughts too

studiogek

The big surprise will begin tomorrow 👀

Stevetheiguana
>>126997140

I agree. Korra isn't the worst show, but it really fell flat compared to ATLA imo. They had a lot of interesting characters and themes, the potential was there, but the execution was not. Also doesn't help that the production of Korra was such as a mess with uncertainty

april 🍏

SUCH an amazing finale. I love it so much. Ngl I am a major Zutara shipper. Aang is a sweetie pie but… Fire and Water.. enemies to lovers… there’s so much shipping potential that my little romantasy lover heart can’t resist. “ If we knew each other back then, do you think we could have been friends too?” -Aang, Season 1 🥹

Stevetheiguana
>>127014584

I don't really think it's all that much more mature than ATLA. The love triangles and romance were a mess and handled worse than ATLA. Plenty of pretty immature jokes in there too, ex. fart jokes. It's edgier sure, but it's not what I would really want from a more mature or darker version of the Avatar universe. Granted, that kind of show wouldn't really be possible as a Nick show.

Michelle
>>127018318

it's gotta be korra because jackson said "we still got korra" and cannon just side eyed him 😭

A_Daddy Daichi

Man this is my first time rewatching atla and I forgot how emotional it was. I was so sad I watched LoK right away to get back in the avatar universe lol. I hope to see Addie and Maddie in some other reactions because I truly enjoyed them! Thank you guys for giving your time to experience this with us 🤎

A_Daddy Daichi
>>127005463

Korra is good and has moments that are better than some atla moments but idk for me atla is just still a little better

A_Daddy Daichi
>>126997140

@stevetheiguana that’s why I’m not harsh on LoK anymore. It simply wasn’t executed well. I think if it was, it would definitely be better than atla IMO. LoK truly has some amazing moments I think everyone should at least watch after diving into the Avatar universe

Alyssa

Another case to add to the “I guess the ATLA to AOT pipeline is real” book 🕵🏽‍♀️ That edit must’ve been from the easy pile bc that was light work brother (definitely almost died watching)

GBuckets

Aang and Azula should have gotten together at the end

Kyle
>>126992410

such a good series with only one season 🫡 😭 honestly I think they'd like the second part. I'm anime only it was enjoyable but differently a serious downgrade

Brady
>>127014584

I think the structure of LOK just lends for easier rewatches. Unlike ATLA which is 1 story for ~50 episodes, LOK is essentially 4 separate 12-14 episode short stories (especially the first 2 seasons because the writers didn't know they'd get more seasons). That's why in ATLA there are some 'filler' episodes and more childish antics sprinkled throughout, while every episode of LOK is integral to the story. When I rewatch ATLA, I always skip stuff (especially in Book 1), which I've rarely done for LOK. And I didn't mind the love triangle tbh, it was pretty realistic and I feel like its presence is overstated by critics of it. I'd probably rank the books something like this: Korra 3 > ATLA 2 > ATLA 3 >= Korra 1 > Korra 4 > ATLA 1 > Korra 2

Brady
>>127018318

General Hospital reaction incoming, it's only 15,429 episodes (and counting)

Dr Awde

I just realized that the woman voicing Jun also voices one of the Hex Girls from Scooby-Doo and the Witches' Ghost

Andy Larkin

Nothing animated even comes close to touching Avatar. Timeless series, and suitable for all ages. The soundtrack, the characters, man.. this series is beyond special.

Andy Larkin
>>127014584

ATLA 2 over 3 bro what? Lmao. Also Korra 3 can't be ahead of any atla book because the ending of that season was atrocious.

T.Yaseen

the Zuko VS Azula fight was so good, they did a really good job with the music, and the fighting choreography was top tier

cutty
>>126995487

It's a pretty common and understandable take. She only figured out she liked him when he became the savior of the world lmao... She was running around every guy she met her age before that.

Tatum McCormick

when you say live-action, you do mean the new show, not the movie, right? Cuz the movie was horrible, they did Appa dirtier than ember island players

Kyle

coming home from work and seeing a two hours episode of you reacting to Avatar is the best thing- Greetings from Germany🫶

icynub

When y’all gonna drop that surprise??? Cuz I’m hella excited

Brady
>>127048393

They should definitely watch the movie though, it would be a fun reaction

icynub
>>127055294

Hahaha I still think it’s A.T.L.A related 😭hopefully not

Brady
>>127014584

I don’t think ATLA 2 over 3 is that controversial; the Deus Ex Machinas in the final fight (pointy rock and lion turtle) def play a role. As for Korra Book 3, I’m surprised you think it’s atrocious. I thought it was fantastic and the way they explored its effects in season 4 elevated it further.

teagan

ATLA finale is the peakest of peaks to ever peak. One of my all time favorite shows and it has been so so fun to watch with y’all!! Also voting to have Addie and Maddie join in more reactions!! Maybe studio ghibli or aot rewatch 👀

BlueDebut

Did you know the first and last words spoken in this series make the phrase: "It's perfect!" Fitting in so many ways.

BlueDebut
>>127071611

Korra is weird because it has great and bad parts to it. It's like Better Call Saul, people liked the original better at first and it did better than the original later on.

Sasha

Did Brig refer to Vinland Saga there?

y are you mad

Iroh is my favorite character, without a doubt.

Dio
>>127071611

Great parts far outweigh the bad, it’s definitely worth a watch

y are you mad

Korra is a mess but the only continuation of the series, so if you want to do it, be free to do it, but be aware.

Sasha

I think Carter should let out his emotions more. I feel like he just sucked it up when Zuko had a reunion with Iroh. Or maybe I'm just misreading.

Taylor Bergherr

i love this show, so nostalgic rewatching it all with you guys again

CHIEF
>>126997140

Oh okay I tried to reframe from outright saying it's bad before but since you asked honestly, the personal dramas are more contrived and immature than ATLA, and there are so many holes in the writing that are more than nitpicks, like real problems with the plot and how events flow in the story. There's a channel on YT "Overanalyzing" that breaks down episodes and gives better examples than I could get into in a comment without being an essay, and without any political bs, if you want specifics.

Michelle

Please watch Korra next!

Lucas Bezerra

Korra is so good, you guys need to watch next!!!

The Owl

HOT TAKE: If ATLA is a 9/10, Korra is maybe a 5/10, save for a few scenes that I’d rank higher. I think Korra is nowhere near the quality of storytelling that ATLA is, and I’d be really curious to see this crew’s reaction to it. Hope you guys do a Korra series-watch too! What ATLA *nailed* so well was CHARACTER. The thing I liked most about Korra is simply seeing more world-building, learning where Team Avatar ended up, and what they accomplished in their lives after the events of TLA. In other words, my favorite parts of Korra had nothing to do with her or those characters - I just wanted more Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph. I want to see AVATAR AANG, at full power, as an adult (we only get glimpses in flashbacks). I want to see them all grow into adults, develop their bending more, how they influenced the world, and see them “retire” from hero-work and start families as they enjoy some well-earned rest. That crew of characters is just so well-written that I want more, despite the ATLA series having a near-perfect ending.

Nyssa

Really enjoyed watching this with you guys ! Thank you so much <3

Matthew

So when fire is burnt more efficiently it turns blue, and that really represents her perfectionist personality that we see

Stevetheiguana
>>127152114

Korra had great potential with plenty of the characters, including villains, but didn't live up to it. The core cast of team avatar in ATLA is really what made the show what it was. The new team avatar in Korra rarely has everyone together in comparison, and failed to develop them as much as they could have. I also don't find them as likable as the original cast either, and Korra in particular is obnoxious. I won't get into other specifics, as it would get into spoiler territory, but some of my biggest gripes with Korra is how much they retconned and messed with bending. Republic City was a mess as well and didn't fit in the Avatar universe and was literally just there because the writers liked 1920s NYC aesthetic so they shoehorned NYC into it.

Nonos

I was just randomly thinking about it, but lowkey gonna miss brig yelling GYAAAT every time monk gyatso is mentioned😂🙏🏽

The Owl
>>127152114

Wow I could not agree more, especially about the missed potential of the characters, and the fact they are rarely all together. I also didn’t like Republic City - thought it was a cool concept, but it’s almost antithetical to what the world of ATLA was. It’s too technologically advanced, and I agree that there was always something that didn’t feel right about it existing in the Avatar universe. Doesn’t fit. Another issue I had is I think the show reveals too much about big elements of the world of ATLA. I liked the mystery about bending & the existence of the Avatar, I really didn’t like that they did an origin story but relegated it to flashbacks only. Those are FOUNDATIONAL concepts for this IP, so they either need an entire series to explore, or just leave it a mystery & focus on the current characters. Sequels always seem to jump too far ahead. The creators had the golden ticket - the audience fell in love with Team Aang, so why not just continue that story? They could have just brought the comics to animation. I’d be down to see an Azula redemption arc, etc. I also agree 100% that Korra, as a character, is just… annoying, to be frank. And the other members of Team Korra are almost simply worse versions of the OG squad. As you said perfectly, TLOK had a ton of potential, but didn’t live up to much of it. However, I still have very high hopes for the new stuff Avatar Studios is working on - I believe we’re getting a Kyoshi series next (?), very exited for that!!! What are your thoughts?

Stunflower

>>127152114

Korra is superior on all levels. BETTER villains. BETTER main character development. BETTER writing. The only thing it lacked was better supporting cast. This comment reeks of fanboy nostalgia. ATLA is a 8/10 and LOK is a 9/10. Also the sequel isnt about the continuation of the Aang. He already had his story. It's for korra. Two different titles. Yall literally only watch these sequels so you can fangirl over the last cast. It also seems you lack historical context or knowledge with your claim that Republic City is too advanced. It only takes about 80-100 years for something like that to develop. There's proof of this with the USA, Korea, and China if you want to look at how they were 100 years ago. Also if you find Korra annoying but you actually sat there and enjoyed watching Aang whine all day like a toddler, I'm going to once again sum this up to either nostalgia or misogyny. Also the supporting cast is nothing like the original cast so idk how their worse versions. If anything their personality types match their bending, and that's it.

Jackski
>>127152114

ATLA is more consistently good but Korra has higher highs and lower lows. Book 1 and 3 of Korra are absolutely incredible. Book 3 is easily the best thing in the Avatar universe. Book 2 is mid except the Wan episodes and Book 4 is just good.

gira

ignore korra haters, its not that bad season 2 just really is bad. korra has the BETTER villains than ATLA and better like choreography/action more anime-style fighting/aggression which i'd know yall enjoy more

gira

and its bad only for a reason if pacing switches up because nickelodean creators didn't know if nickoledeon woudl renew it for season 1-2 so it messed the whole vibe up for the potential of it being really good/better than ATLA

Aisha

korra next

boop
>>127342852

nah bro character writing is awful, mako is zero personality and bolin is nothing more than comedic relief, they are called team avatar but they never earn the name. the love triangle is so dogshit as well like seriously? there must be an insane amount of offscreen development to justify these characters

jacob miller
>>127152114

Sorry to tell you, but Korra is always gonna be the somewhat king of good sequel to an amazing show. It has high moments but it has very low ones. It’s too inconsistent. The supporting cast is trash. The fact that the villains are what make the show than the actual main cast is laughable, and I guess Korra repetitive character development. The fighting style is so basic looking compared to ATLA creative style. And Aang was a 12 yr old vs Korra 16-19. She definitely seemed more annoying and hot headed. And does she like to almost date the entire team avatar, like damn make up your mind and hurting Bolin. We’re not even going to talk about what happened to the past lives. It’s not misogyny or nostalgia, it’s just not that good. Yall Korra saviors love using those two words to be shielded from actual criticism.

Dev

Pleeease watch Korra next :)

Venus
>>127152114

@Jacob You're simply an aang fanboy. Korra has made less mistakes than aang with worse villains. Aang actually managed to get himself killed. He's only alive because of katara. He also allowed appa to be stolen. And yes aang was 12. And annoying asf. 10x more annoying than any character on TLOK and if you sat there and actively watched it and enjoyed his behavior then your opinion is worthless on Korra being annoying. Also everything Korra lost is valid. Her villains were 10x worse with more abilities and skills. also idgaf about the supporting vast. The title says Korra, not the supporting cast. one again you are just an aang fanboy

Joseph

Mark Hamill absolutely killed it in this finale

Brandon Diaz

after rewatching the show and watching your reaction I'm lowkey wanting to get the comics that tell what happens after the show. Also that edit in the end; Zuko has one of the greatest redemptions

bobby

korra is fucking amazing and i hope you guys give it a chance, fuck all the virgins that are obsessed with these bland ass characters. people who dont like korra definitely cant comprehend the deeper and darker themes of korra. the plot, characters, villains, and music are just so much better in korra. dont go off others opinions, for most its a nostalgia factor that wont let them accept change

JaJa
>>127152114

Beautiful hot take. Korra is trash compared to ATLA lmao

McDiesel92

So for Maddie, Aang had already opened the 7th shakra underneath Ba sing Se so had Azula not shot him down, he would have complete control over his Avatar state while defeating Zuko, Azula, and the Dai Li. But because Azula shot him and killed him, he was cut off. Katara brought him back to life the but the energy of the lightning was still keeping his spirit from reconnecting. the rock was the Hail Mary shot to release the energy.

McDiesel92

Also while Avatar is a 10/10 show, Legend of Korra is like an 8.5 or 8/10. Still pleasant to watch but some low episodes and low character plot points for me.

hayden

Man, this was such a goated watch with you guys. I have watched ATLA like 4 times total, and now watching it with you guys after so long, it’s such a goated watch. The ending hit different such a good and happy conclusion. Top 3 best characters are Uncle, Zuko, and Aang, and I’m so happy you guys watched this with Maddie and Addie. Wow, yeah, the Zuko and Azula Agni Kai was the best and most beautiful thing in this series, and Zuko's character development hit different. Thanks for the goated journey Your reactions made the experience so much more goated and memorable, and it wouldn’t be as good if Addie and Maddie weren’t there they made the reactions goated.
