OneCooL-CODM

Sterling

LOL glad to know I wasn't the only one that thought it was Monster at first glance too🤣

Goatchis

These comments are the sign to watch monster at some point

Adri

manifesting a Naruto drop tonight

Jamir Blue

Does anyone know what episode of One Piece Jackson is on?

Poragami

First of all, Zoro named one of his attacks 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation and second, One Piece is pretty bloody.

Starkfern

He's right, the only reason it's 1k episode is cuz bad pacing later on. Jojos is longer than one piece and it's only like 150 episodes long so far. If one piece had good pacing like jojos it would be like 300 episodes long

ABC
>>127588612

Lol what? If not for bad pacing, anime would still be like 750 episodes. No way it would be 300 episodes unless they cut half the story.

ABC

Hope you guys are posting more Naruto today

Starkfern
>>127588612

But jojos is longer than one piece and more than half of it has been animated and yet it's only 190 episodes. Assuming part 7 and 8 of jojos is 100 ish episodes its only 300 episodes. How can one piece be 700 despite it having 3000 less pages than jojos? Bad pacing and fillers can add up a lot.

DAI

Wait. I am confused. Who is he??

Cindy Baker
>>127588333

It is, but it’s heavily censored by toei. No guts or anything but some shocking scenes.

Cindy Baker

I hope Netflix also adapts all the other side stories. The ace one would be peak.

ABC
>>127588612

You know not all manga pages are created equal right? Have you looked at One Piece manga pages? They're dense AF. Idk how Jojo's is because I haven't seen or read it but OP manga pages are some of the densest I've seen.

Starkfern
>>127588612

It still shouldn't make that much of a difference and yes jojos can be dense aswell. I've read and watched both op and jojos and I had to stop watching op because the pacing became bad after marineford. Whereas jojos, throughout the whole show (except maybe part 3) had great pacing because they followed the manga 1 by 1, each page was animated as its shown, frequent breaks between parts, and no fillers. If one piece followed what jojos did it would be much shorter

MOB12

Neeeeddd Naruto ep 19

LeFlaneur

Did they watch the Netflix live action before this?

Christina Laegel

Jack, you and I had the same geeked out reaction to this. It was so good! And to all the other boys on the couch...welcome to your first real taste of how Oda handles themes and storytelling ;) One Piece has so much more to offer and will make you feel every emotion, I can promise you that! I hope you'll watch it soon

Cindy Baker
>>127589522

Shimotsuki Ryuma direct ancestor to Shimotsuki kuina and ancestor to Roronoa Zoro

ryan
>>127589522

Neal hes from the Studio Gek Discord they explain it in the beginning of the 1x3 Solo Leveling episode

Melizé
>>127589522

That's Neal sensei. He's been a patron since day one, they flew him in to film some exciting stuff! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Michael H
>>127588612

This is pretty easy to settle. One Pace is the edited version of One Piece that follows the manga pretty much exactly, and it cuts about 350 episodes worth of time from the series (assuming each episode is 20min); that leaves about a 750 episode show. This in no way justifies One Piece’s pacing because that’s a ridiculous amount to cut, but your 300 episode estimate is way off.

Teddy

Damn the ending 🤯

Val

Jack isn't caught up to the anime but the title will make sense once he hits episode 1062 lol

Starkfern
>>127588612

Well I've never seen one pace so i cant say. But I've heard it has a lot of issues before Wano. So I wouldn't really consider one pace to have perfect pacing. The true answer is we wouldn't know exactly how long it could be unless an actual professional studio remade one piece. Which is what studio wit is doing right now

Joydan Bri’an

okayyy i might have to sit through the one piece episodes. this was really good

ssj4rit
>>127588612

Idk why people saying OP should be 750 episodes. Usually for 20 page shounen chapters a good rate is 2 chapter per episode. Sometimes more if it’s action heavy. So at minimum OP should be 1100/2 = 550 episodes. 750 is still rather slow pacing for OP, which doesn’t have much dialogue compared to other shounen like HxH which still adapts 2+ chapter per episode.

Goatchis
>>127584764

I hope so, but it doesn't really seem like it'd be for brig and McKay, jackson is a maybe and I'm pretty sure cannon and Carter would love it.

Kyle
>>127585054

yes!!! I do wonder what they'd think of it. such beautiful story

Mysterious Figure

I think the microphone was a bit too close to Jack. I was ALMOST able to hear some of the words he was saying. PLEASE get a microphone for JACK!

Alex Ramirez

This one shot has more deaths than Mid Piece has lmao

Michael H
>>127588612

@Abraham Garcia That’s facts. I am psyched to see One Piece get remade in a modern fashion.

Jed

If yall liked this you will love One Piece! It carries the same themes of backstabbing, revenge, despair, hope, love, courage, and much much more. It has so many emotions tied up into the story it really is incredible its crazy how good Oda is at writing!

Saki

I wasn't expecting to see the actual scene from one piece at the end there, but that was sooo cool! Amazing ending I think 🤩🤩 And sooo glad you guys enjoyed it too! Also to clarify, I'm pretty sure they actually were saying that he was the King! Earlier in the episode you hear them talking about how a mysterious swordsman called King was likely the only one above Shirano in skill, but people rarely saw him. At that point Ryuuma admits to wanting to fight him someday, but after he defeats the dragon and Ryuuma leaves the bartender says he remembers Kings full title to be "Ryuuma de King". Ryuuma's said to not know his nickname because rather then choosing it for himself or anything it was simply something some of the people he had saved had started calling him. So in the beginning, the one said to be the greatest swordsman and the one Ryuuma wants to fight, is in actuality, himself.

HNadR

Are we getting Naruto tonight?

poe

I'm all for the bantering.

kiiturii

that actually cooked

kiiturii
>>127588612

it's not just filler episodes that pad the runtime, it's filler within non-filler episodes, recaps etc. There is no way a properly paced modern adaptation of one piece would run for over 700 episodes

Nonos
>>127588276

Bros gonna love episode 1015 of one piece. Lowkey would even be down for a quiet solo Jack reaction but ik that’s not happening fr😂

ryan
>>127602556

nah this isnt funny anymore the demons are coming out

Jed
>>127602556

Homie decided to copy comments of every post lmao

Ace Hollow

Ryuma is actually the king but he doesnt know it and this is one piece but before the time we are in rn this was around 800 or 900 years ago i think and no there is only one of those swords

Ulises Flores(Uliee.)

I’m cheesing! Guys! This is part of the story, yes is a prequel. This is 800 years before the present time line in one piece. The characters name is Ryuma, and yes he’s the king. I imminently recognize the sword because is a very important sword in one piece. Zoro has an important battle with the corpse of Ryuma in actual one piece and gets his sword as you guys can see. A lot goes into that battle so that all I’ll say. Such a good look into the past. I hope you guys wait for the remake of one piece so you can can enjoy it more but regardless you guys will enjoy it either one you guys watch in my opinion. Can’t wait until I take that journey with you guys 😬

Matthew Valentine

If you guys like dragon related one shots check out Burn The Witch Set in the bleach universe and came out recently.

april 🍏

I've never seen One Piece, but this was a really fun One-Shot!

Jack mayfield

the zoro clip at the end is too satisfying

Jack mayfield

ryouma does appear in the show in a form of resurrection but not fully, and thats what you see at the end of the clip so yes this character directly appears in one piece

Dientjuhh

that last scene is not from wano tho. It's from the Thriller Bark arc.

Frizen

This One Shot was not animated by Toei, it was made by E & H Productions a new studio created by the director of JJK S1 and JJK 0 Sunghoo Park.

IchiGoat

when’s the next drop for hotd🔥

corLeonis

Jack, I know how you feel at the end. 🤣 that's how I reacted too

Sayurinte

Comics are better than animation.

sb123

Narutoooo

Pressure

omg its RYUMA?!?!!? that's so sick..

T.Yaseen

as someone who watched a little from one piece this episode was really good

Lily

Yeeees! This came out when Eichiro Oda was 19 years old, which was 30 years ago! He started to put all stories idea together when he was 14. It's so sick to follow in one of the footsteps of a legend. Thank you for your passion and love, Jack!

Reilly Keith

The laughing scene is a jjk reference

AKINORI

This episode was published as a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump. (Jump's representative manga include One Piece, Naruto, JJK, H× H, Bleach, and Demon Slayer) If readers respond well to the one-shot, the writer can win serialization. If you want to know the behind the scenes of these manga artists, I recommend the anime, "Bakuman." This work is also a Jump work, and is a manga drawn by the author of Death Note.

Arallius

NOW IT'S JUST TIME FOR ONE PIECE

Alex

😂😂😂 felt bad after I told you to call him Oda sensei and delted the comment, love your guys content! (It was supposed to be lighthearted wasnt actually mad) - sorry cannon

Cannon Andrus
>>127702002

esie ♡︎

this was so amazing 😭😭😭 i recognized his sword the second they showed it but for some reason i didn’t piece it together and had no idea it would be Ryuma. It was a nice surprise. I’m so glad you guys watched this 😭💖
