spring deerling

Damn, thought y'all were neglecting us w this but now we're gonna get 4? Nice

MissJodles

Patiently waiting for 42/43 before watching this one 🙏

Lukash

I was like FMAB friday?? what is THAT???? but of course there is a catch :D ... it least its a funny one

Jyle

YESS we’re getting some Naruto today too

Dean Cyphers

Shiiiiiiiiiiit I’ll take a quad drop, as long as 42-43 don’t take too long 👀

Andrew Muggleton

Quick question, was the Evangelion watch through dropped? I would love to see the rest of that. Sorry if wrong place to ask!!! Looking forward to more FMAB though.

Apple

u guys are too big now to not have a somewhat "official" schedule for all ur shows imo. I think it would prevent comments like "when is X dropping", which gets annoying, but they have a point. P.S. when is 86 dropping? (lol)

studiogek
>>131184632

Ya the scheduling has always been difficult, because between 5 guys all with school and jobs and family/personal stuff it gets crazy and chaotic super quick, but we try our best. We are going to be opening up more time after this school semester and mess around with our schedule a bit to hopefully make it more consistent

studiogek
>>131183411

No it was not. Scheduling has been insane but we are going to be opening more time following this school semester and will finish the show. Evangelion has been amazing

Andrew Muggleton
>>131183411

No worries at all! Totally understand and no pressure on you guys! Do what you need to do! (It’s my favourite show, so I’m always happy to see new reactions to it!) take your time and keep up the good work!

Poragami

So, when can we expect GoT? :))))))))

Süm

That scene where Al and Hohenheim met was so funny in the manga. Al said "Dad?! and Hohenheim was like "The armor from my collection!!"

if I have 4900 paid members I'm never going to school or working another day of my life tbh... even split 5 ways that's gotta be one delicious gravy train... and I think it's been proven that the Geks aren't a phase and are here to stay... you guys have the most interesting dynamic of all the reaction channels, to the point that I think the only big ones outperforming you are the sex appeal titty monsters who let's be honest, probably don't give a shit about anime

Pulse rifles suck in pve
>>131184632

It would be pretty stupid to throw away their education because they're making a somewhat decent amount of money from content creation. They aren't at millionaire status yet contrary to what you may believe

M2GZ

Man people on the Patreon solely for fmab are STRUGGLING

Ly

Could you tell when you’ll upload the 42-43 eps? I’d like to watch it in the right order :)

Josh
>>131188085

Yeah season’s 1-4 are legit up there with the best anime lol

Josh
>>131184632

I think you’re overestimating how much money they’re making. Split 5 ways, it’d most likely be a very good and comfortable salary, especially for their age. But it is nowhere near the amount where they can, or would want to, forego everything else indefinitely for it Remember how precarious what they’re doing is, or could be; they’re a reaction channel who are uploading full episodes of anime and live-action shows to their Patreon Not to mention they all have their own ambitions and desires, and this is done as both a passion project and a way to set them up financially for the future

Josh

I personally kinda like the relative inconsistency of the channel tbh. One thing that drew me in with AoT is the authenticity of it. “I just gotta watch another episode after that” and then turning on the next ep and uploading it Idk, I don’t like how business-y it feels when channels do 1 ep per week for every show, no exceptions. But ig it is a business after all

Kyosuke Kagami
>>131184632

Objectively speaking they have an exponentially better chance at being millionaires by pursuing Patreon over school/work. Nevermind student loans, nevermind training, commute, and other expenses. Currently even with zero growth they are getting anywhere from $25,000 to $30,000 a month, after Patreon's cut, and that's NOT even including the $10 tier. Average US income is $59k a year. They are pulling that in 2 months. Even split 5 ways they are well exceeding the average income, and not spending a fortune on gas, not breaking their backs, etc.

Kyosuke Kagami
>>131188085

it's not bro, it's cringe woke normie shiz, just like all western entertainment made in the last couple decades... do not consume under any circumstances

Eren Jeager

What ever happened to the ending reactions

Sasha

Maybe I'll someday catch up to this if I have the motivation for this show. But anyways you all should go watch the new Dune movie. It's so good.

Anna
>>131184632

Respectfully it doesn’t even need to be about the money - they started this channel for fun and if they want to pursue other things while keeping this channel as a hobby they shouldn’t be hearing any pushback on that, it’s their business. Even ~considering~ rearranging their schedules just for this channel is really generous of them tbh

corLeonis

We all have those days. For me, I forgot I have work, I played FF7 Rebirth the whole day yesterday lol Anyways, will wait for the skipped upload before I watch this hahaha So when will Princess Mononoke be reacted? 😅 (I wont stop recommending this hahaha)

Christina Laegel
>>131184632

I full heartedly agree with Anna. They are giving us so much already so I’m really not upset by the scheduling at all. In fact, I think it’s pretty impressive how much they are able to do as is even if certain uploads are a bit later than usual or something like that

Poragami
>>131188085

Who tf hurt you Kyosuke, you can enjoy things other than Anime, you know? lol

Christina Laegel
>>131193612

Nah I agree with you. It adds an extra layer of excitement for all of the possibilities lol. All I want is a rough timeframe and I’m good lol. Tell me next weekend and I’ll be ready for Friday, Saturday, OR Sunday

Reed Stevens
>>131192228

Yeah it's been rough since the first vote, second vote, third vote etc. Kind of a bummer when HxH get showered with endless episodes and its fans still hop on our posts to spam "more hunter hunter" and shows that aren't even anime or were never voted in by patrons get priority over FMAB.

GBuckets
>>131188085

Anime has taken a dive to buddy. Most anime i watch nowadays are so shit

Josh
>>131184632

Yeah, that's nowhere near enough money. Split 5 ways, that's not even close to approaching millionaire status. And that's not even true "objectively speaking" lol. As I said, it's precarious for so many different reasons: the main one being the potential for media companies to actually start enforcing their copyright, but also just managing 5 people who you need to assume are willing to stay locked in and dedicated to this as their main career for an indefinite amount of time We see this time and time again "reactors" grow dissatisfied with that label and start wanting to be more ambitious Jack is studying architecture, Brig is studying finance and I think Cannon has a degree in finance already, and I think Carter has some sort of business background. Not sure about McKay. They're not getting worthless degrees or anything. As for student loans, I think they've already done the bulk of their semesters. With a job like this where you're sacrificing, or gambling your early years you need to be looking at being set up for life. Tl;dr I think they're doing the right thing by doing both in a bit more of a balanced way, but also leaning into this opportunity they have in front of them. I also just think they should do what they want, it's not really my place. And hey maybe they start hating their jobs and then have this to turn to full time

Asbjørn Kennedy

LMFAO ok that’s hilarious. And if this means that we’re getting four eps this weekend then I’m not complaining <3

Mr.Flakes3

I get the trope perspective. It's why I I don't recommend some showes to people. That and fanservice.

LuvStarburst

so glad we're getting 4 episodes since you fumbled the ball lol. Congrats to cannon on that affiliate though.

Belle M
>>131192302

@Liam what an asshole response for no reason they're up right now btw op

BigManSirob

I can finally go back and watch these episodes now 😂

BigManSirob

Also, I just want to say that I think the tropes stuff in this show being not all that good is mostly a dub problem. The dub is great don't get me wrong, but idk in the sub it just feels way more natural while in the dub it feels super out there and random. I honestly didn't even remember there being all that much stuff like that in the sub so when I watched the dub for the first time I was so confused lol. I don't even think its all that funny in the sub either its just something I would never point out if I was talking about the show. Definitely one of the dubs biggest weakness imo.

nocomprendo

trope means a different thing

Ly

lol I wonder whether they will finish hxh or fmab first. Seems like they started giving more episodes per week for fmab recently

spring deerling

I'm actually really happy how much brig enjoys it now.

spring deerling

Eds shit taste never gets old, he definitely would love hot topic

spring deerling

Greed's voice actor is Troy Baker! He voiced Joel in the last of us Games! He also voiced Snow from final fantasy 13!

spring deerling

The pervy old man is actually Hawkeyes grandpa! In the manga when he's playing chess w Roy before he gets transferred, he asked him to marry his granddaughter

Guy
>>131193612

It's super exciting like pulling slot machines or something. "What show will get episodes uploaded next???"

spring deerling

Olivier is strong but Bradley is insane. Bradley's power I'd say is his eye and the intense training he had to do his whole life.

Nick K

Some shows just do tropes better than others. It's like watching a comedy that either does or doesn't have good jokes. It's why some anime I love, and meanwhile Black Clover was more uncomfortable for me than having teeth pulled. I mean that literally as I know what having teeth pulled feels like. I literally got in the habit of fast forwarding though parts of that show because as some of the main plot was interesting the characters were becoming more insufferable. So I don't think the presence of tropes should scare you guys off, it's just whether or not the comedy is going to land for you or not, like how it did in JJK for example. Also what a perfect line: "If you turn your back on something you wanted, you don't deserve to call yourself greed"

spring deerling

Bradley ages because he has 1 soul in his stone. In his backstory on how he became a homonculus he describes that all the souls in the stone fought to be the dominant one until only the most wrathful one remained. It's actually interesting that y'all talked about hohenhiem making homonculi based on good emotions, cause he seems to embody the opposite of the seven deadly sins-the seven heavenly virtues

spring deerling

I get what Carter is saying at the end. But that's actually what I don't like about Korra. Is that since they weren't sure how long they'd get for the show, each season is a new big bad, whereas Avatar was the build up to the big bad, the final boss.

Madlen F.

I think it's great you take it slow watching this show, I bet it feels as if its actually releasing now for the first time weekly which I think adds it's own charm to the watching experience. It leaves you longing for more and you have something to look forward to every week. It's kinda comforting too I guess, especially with the vibes of this show. I think by the end you are gonna think of this show with a smile on your faces. Keep it up and don't be bothered by comments who want to rush you, the moment you start feeling like you Have to watch something, you have lost all enjoyment. A binge for the last few episodes would feel very rewarding as well since everything will be finally be put together, but do as you feel.

Brittany (Ultraanimegirl4)

Rewatching FMAB with you guys all these years later, I can see how it has aged slightly compared to more recent popular shows. It still stands up as one of the greatest in my opinion, but certain things like the tropes you mentioned have changed. The rewatch has been so enjoyable though! You guys are the perfect balance of discussing events in shows but not talking over the whole episode. :D Never change! ;)

Can’t touch this Stone
>>131183411

Didn't think you guys were still in college. Im lowkey boutta drop out. Got offers for a software job so no point finishing this Omni man V superman essay anymore lmao

Tiga

That Greed/Ling (=Greeling) argument over killing Bido is one of my favorite scenes of the show. Such great writing, cut shots, and emotion in it. Greeling has such an interesting character dynamic because Ling makes him recognize his more human nature. You guys are more familiar with a Sukuna/Yuji dynamic, but I hope y'all like Greeling since they aren't exactly working against each other. Also, love these 2 episodes since they gave us that Bradley/Greed fight then the Alex/Olivier showdown 😂

Tiga

I definitely agree that the tone of the show changes these episodes. I think this is due to the shift away from the set up and exposition of the finale, and the beginning of all the POVs being given equal screen time as they slowly start to intertwine. Y'all are in for a fun ride!

Chrees

42-43 cut off right before Brig looked it up, but I assume y’all know now that the original FMA started airing before the manga finished, so it’s an anime original ending. While the beginning and setup is basically the same, the story goes in an entirely different direction before long. If Carter is looking for another arc in this world, y’all should give the original FMA a try, and watch the sub! Overall not as good as Brotherhood but still a fantastic story in its own right. There is a movie sequel to each of the FMA series too, for even more story arcs.

Ale

Al always calls Ed "brother" purely because of Asian culture. Younger brother/sister do not call their older siblings by their names as it can be consider rude (of course depends on the family) so mostly in any pair of siblings you would hear the older will always call the younger with their name but the younger will refer to them directly as "brother/sister".

NMP

Man this show was my first real anime experience back in the day and I remember thinking it was so incredible and one of my favorite shows ever. But over time eventually I got way more into AOT because I thought it was way crazier and had darker themes. Started viewing FMAB as lesser because its more childish or not as dark and brutal as modern shonen like AOT, JJK, etc. And while I still probably like AOT more overall, I dont think this show ever comes close to the highs of AOT, rewatching it with yall has given me a lot of retrospective appreciation again. Its kind of bittersweet because it makes me think of simpler times and is like rediscovering my love for something i had cast aside for a while. FMAB is a show that is a 10/10 because it is very consistently an 8 or 9/10 in every single aspect if that makes sense. Its just very well rounded and the story and the way everything unfolds and then comes back together is so perfectly done. This last home stretch of the show is pretty insane now that Im remembering some of the peak moments coming up here (and yes that hyped up getback is indeed generational). The writing, setups, payoffs, huge cast of characters that you all very quickly become attached to, it’s just all great. It’s the definition of a perfect all around shonen anime. Literally the only big criticism you could have is the anime tropes which is just a result of it coming out before AOT led the revolution of more serious and dark shonen

NMP
>>131260241

yep, part of the reason i always advocate for the dub here so much. theres a reason greedling grows on you so quickly and why they all almost immediately pointed out how cool his voice is. troy baker is a legend, ive heard him almost too many things by now but he’s extremely talented

spring deerling
>>131260241

He's Def a standout in the dub. There's lots of performances I think are great but him and then Bradley's VA are amazing and I can't imagine FMAB without them

studiogek
>>131346997

Thats actually really good to know because its been really weird to us haha but that makes sense!

studiogek
>>131377055

What a great comment. You somehow made me feel what you felt slightly even though I never did haha. Very well said

Can’t touch this Stone
>>131346997

My parents are from kenya and we do that aswell. Your older siblings go by abobo(for big bro) abayo for big sis. If you have another older sibling you'd go abobo("name") abayo("name")

Can’t touch this Stone
>>131188085

No kidding. My rule is i'm not obsessed over anime I just like good media. Most anime are complete horse nut and i'm not watching that filth

Zess
>>131377055

I like your points, but I'm confused on one part you wrote. "And while I still probably like AOT more overall, I dont think this show ever comes close to the highs of AOT, rewatching it with yall has given me a lot of retrospective appreciation again" the middle part in particular kind of seems like you dont think it can even compare to aot, but then the next line seems like it kind of reminded you of how great it is and could be compared? I'm just curious what you meant there exactly? Could be me being dumb lol and I'm just curious, not actually wanting to debate on which is better or anything like that.
