With The Mad Scientist finally wrapped up, it's time to start another. However, I would like your input on what it should be. The idea I keep kicking around was one I touched on a long time ago. Titled "The One Word App," it would give a person an app on their phone. Whenever they targeted a person (not including themselves), the app would spit out a true statement about that person. Then, the user would be able to change a single word in the statement. When they do, that statement also becomes true and the person would be unaware that anything had changed.

For example, say the statement was: Jane loves tanktops, but feels her B-cup breasts don't fit the top well.

The user could change it to: Jane loves tanktops, but feels her G-cup breasts don't fit the top well.

Jane's breasts would become G-cups, and Jane wouldn't know any better.

Though I would love to get some ideas from you all as well. I think this would work well with the kind of format I've been doing but at the same time, I want to know if you all would like something like that, or if maybe it should be a little less restrictive. Maybe call it "The Truth App" which would allow an entire statement to be changed?

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. What do you think?

I like the idea. Honestly that one word app can have alot of possibilities. I be looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I would say go with the second suggestion for the title, but keep the plot of the first idea where you can only change one word....

I think the one word version is more interesting. The chances of things going wrong very quickly from one word not being interpreted the way a person expects could lead to fun consequences

Loved the Mad Scientist Comic and would love this One Word App Comic aswell

Maybe make the title more thematic? Like 'World War', but cross out the 'r' in World->Word, and have some subtext of one person making global changes without realizing it because occasionally the word they change in sentences makes a huge difference, while a couple of supernatural organizations are trying to track them down for various reasons... all while everybody is getting TF'ed in the process. It fits in with your classics (large cast, large number of transformations, lets you set up a sentence for user input), and lets you riff by either exploring a change in detail, or moving on to the next one if you're not feeling the current one.

I personally love the idea and have done similar stuff in rp a few times, it's honestly fun to think of all the things that can change by just one word change. You could even maybe in some way get some of the higher tier members give suggestions to how to change a phrase, pic the three you like the most and then have a poll for everyone to vote? Could help stagger the release of the comic pages as well for a good reason so to take off some pressure from you

Not a bad idea! I want to be careful though with having too much extra stuff going on. It is my impression that the majority of people are here for transformations and expansions so I don't want to get too bogged down with backstory. At the same time, that does sound fun.

Definitely something to think about with the higher tier suggestions. I do need to be a bit more careful with how many images I'm doing per month. The first few months of the mad scientist were 20-25 images. That ballooned to 40+ most months at the end.

I think it works well ^^ Gives a lot of fun creative freedom, and I can't think of a better idea at the moment.

If it's an app, why not combine it with AR (augmented reality), so the person using the app could use their camera to view the target with the true statement about them and could see what would happen if they changed them, and then when they click submit or something similar it becomes reality...?

sounds like a cool idea.
