Ok! Here are the options for the next anthro mod. I'm planning to let this poll run until 11/8/23, and will probably be working on some final improvements to the Cyberpunk mod in the mean time. After I create this new mod, the next poll will include an option to return to Cyberpunk and add new features.
Starfield - Therian Clades:
While New Atlantis bans most forms of human genetic engineering, a rare exception has been made for the Therians, an eclectic subculture of mystics, furries, and transhumanists who splice their genomes with animal DNA as a form of self-expression. Like the Cyberpunk mod, this one would include several species options for the player alongside NPC and environmental edits. Note that the Starfield modding tools won't actually be released until next year- so if this option is chosen, I may need to pause development partway and switch to a different mod while I wait for that to become available.
Baldur's Gate III - Tabaxi Race:
In Dungeons & Dragons, the Tabaxi are a race of playable cat-people. I think I can add them as an option in the new Baldur's Gate RPG. Since this mod would only include one species, I could focus on a higher level of quality than past mods, with 3D fur effects, better shaders, and more customization options. Digitigrade paws might or might not be doable, depending on how many shoe models I'd need to edit.
Fallout 4 - The Ani-men:
When the transgenic super-soldier program you joined was leaked to the press and cancelled, you found yourself thrust back into society, still waiting for a promised reversion serum when the bombs fell... I actually started on a version of this mod years ago, but abandoned it partway through. I'm not sure how much of the old files I can reuse, but that might give me a head-start if this option is selected. This mod would also include multiple species options, NPC and environmental edits.
Elden Ring - Half-Animal Tarnished:
Everyone tells me that Elden Ring is a masterpiece, and I've been meaning to try it. The setting apparently includes some half-animal characters, and there are a few non-human character creation options, so a half-animal player character might fit into the setting without too much immersion-breaking- possibly I could explain it as a human cursed by one of the setting's demigods? I think I'd start with either a pine marten or a cheetah, and then add other options depending on interest.
Mount & Blade II - Were-Creatures:
The setting of the Mount & Blade action/strategy series doesn't actually include supernatural elements, but it is a secondary world rather than anything trying to be historically accurate, so I don't think were-creatures would clash too badly. The idea would be to add in a few new options for the playable character and recruitable soldiers- werewolves, were-cats, maybe kitsune- possibly with some minor gameplay effects in addition to the cosmetics. I'm not very familiar with the engine, so creating this mod might be a bit more time-consuming than some of the other options.
Skyrim - Khajiit Appearance Overhaul:
The Khajiit in Skyrim have never looked all that good, even with existing mods like CoverKhajiit and the digitigrade mod. The problem is the combination of a model that tries to represent thick lynx fur with a single low-polygon mesh along with the overly simplistic way the color overlays are applied, which leaves the texture looking pretty bad with anything other than white or black fur. The entire thing really needs to be re-done from scratch. This would a relatively quick mod to complete, since it's only a single model and I'm familiar with the engine. It would be compatible with both SE and Skyrim VR.
Age of Wonders 4 - Draconian Overhaul:
The AoW4 Dragon Dawn DLC includes a spell that transforms your race into Draconians- dragon hybrids. Unfortunately, that just involves growing ugly wings and horns. Can I make a mod that turns Draconians into actual anthro dragons? I'm not sure, but I wouldn't mind trying. Also, the Tigrans have the wrong number of toes, for some reason- if this option is selected, I'll also try to fix that.
