#89 - Blake is Here! (Patreon)
Content
Hello again, Rumi here!
Slight preamble today. Itch has been popping off! They seem to have improved how flagging a devlog as a 'Major Update' works, allowing my projects to move up the rankings now and again. Considering the pain Itch has caused recently, this is a major W!
Dream Corruption currently sits on the front page of the 'Adult' section, which is incredible. To all the new faces this has brought in, welcome :)
Now then, let's move on to Rumi Ramblings (TM):
GAMES! Bit of a different week for gaming this time. I managed to get my hands on an Xbox 360 and have been playing through the original Skate. As a child, I remember playing the third one, so it's been nice to see how that franchise began. Although it is definitely missing some quality of life changes compared to the 3rd. You can't get off your skateboard, for instance.
Other than this, I'm still making my way through Pragmata, but I'm taking that one slowly. I think I've sunk maybe 2-3 hours in so far?
ANIME! Another spectacular week for anime. I've watched all of Mashle's 2nd season, which was incredibly fun. Much more well-rounded than the first season. It not only managed to keep the fights interesting while making sure the One Punch Man style stayed intact, but it also gave the characters actual growth. Finn, for example, has grown from a coward who sold out his friends to someone who, while not naturally a brave person, will do what he needs to do to protect his friends. It's a level of character growth I think Usopp from One Piece needs more of (apologies to the Usopp lovers out there, but it's true).
Not only did I finish Mashle, but I also started and completed the first season of K-ON! And man, do I wish I had given this a shot sooner. It's been on my watchlist for years, but I never got around to it. It's a cute high-school slice of life, based around the premise of a Light Music Club. A part from the lack of romance, it's exactly my sort of thing. I don't have much else to say about it, other than that it was good. And Mio is best girl.
MOVIES! Nothing really to mention here. Anime has been taking up most of my free time recently. A stark change from a few weeks ago, but I appreciate the change of pace.
Anyway, enough rambling for one day, onto the work:
Naughty Tail
As expected, Juvia has won the latest Character Poll and will be featured in V0.3.4.
I'm about halfway through the script for this already, and I should have more news on a potential release date next week :)
Dream Corruption
Blake's update has been released in Early Access (V0.2.2), and it seems to be going down well. I quite enjoyed working on this, and it's nice to finally have the full RWBY crew in-game.
Not much else to say on that front. A new Character Poll will be out tomorrow ;)
Sinful Valley
V0.3.13 is out in Early Access. Bringing with it the usual narrative progression, this time focusing on the farm and a date with Josie. This update also sets up the foundation of the Beach Dates System. It'll be implemented partially over the next few releases.
V0.3.14 is progressing nicely in the scripting phase. I hope to have that done by the end of the week, so I came straight into implementation. It will focus on setting up the next big event, one that's been teased since the early versions. Can you guess what it'll be?
That's everything for today, thanks for reading until the end! Ping me on Discord if you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer :)
