Starting next year I was thinking about setting up a Discord. Still undecided because I'm not sure how active I'd be but I thought it'd be cool for talking about art and stuff 🤔

I don't use discord, but apparently many people do. Up to you. Just don't neglect Patreon-only users (like with Discord-exclusive polls etc.)

A discord for us would be amazing, maybe have some off topic channels for those who aren't artistically gifted, like music and games, perhaps custom characters in games modeled after your characters, music to have gex to, etc etc

Yes. A place to talk about art sounds pretty cool as long as it's managed well. I've seen some turn unruly and weird real quick in the past. This community seems pretty chill, thankfully, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Very much so! I'm a big discord user and I reckon it could make for a really good place for Dross lovers to interact! It could be subscriber only, or include everyone and have sub only sections. Patreon is great, but lacks in decent chat rooms for talking about your art!

That's the main reason why I'm not sure. I think it'd have to be patrons only just to ensure a good community.

Sorry in advance for the long text, a discord server would be a good way for interaction between you and us, even for users to interact between each other, to have access to all the art you have made and it would be nice to make a community, but on the other hand you have to keep things under control and people in check, maybe it would be too much work for you, you don't have to make it but if you want to do it then we will be gladly to join the server, whatever you decide to do I'm down with it and thanks for sharing this with us

I’ve seen artist also use discord to share their art work for their subscribers too as a more direct way and it allows other memebers to share other interests or just chat about your work and stuff so if you want to I say go for it

A lot of artist discords I've been on have been an absolute nightmare. Make sure you have good mods or it can spiral really quick.

Definitely gonna be straight with you, even having the patreon requirement is gonna require a lot of moderation. I’d love to see the discord be a thing, but I also know it could make you miserable if things go wrong. Let’s hope for the best!

I don't mind it existing, but i'd be disappointed if it ever ended being a mandatory thing to access all content . I want to keep my uh tasteful taste separate from my Discord account! I also just prefer browsing Patreon to Discord to see content

I was wondering if I just imagined this post so I scrolled back a bit to find it lmao Personally I'd be a big fan I use discord alotttt but yea if this is smth you're still up for I'd advise to definitely go for an 18+ server, patron access only and at best a couple mods right at the start so you dont have to do all the stuff yourself we wouldn't want you to burn out ;-) Ps. I'd be more than willing to help a little with it but ofc I'm just a randome internet guy but yea if you decide ou want to make some sort of application process thingie for mods or helpers I'd apply (^_^;)
