I'm not sure how much interest this will have, but I've had some comments asking about my process so I took a few screenshots as I was putting together a page for SYLB3.

hail to king dross, first of his name

Dan

I was just wondering about your process after the new post! You’re an inspiration for my art, so it’s a treat to see how these comics come together. Much love 🖤

Alexander Mazella

This in fascinating, love see the level of detail put into your work

tony_bob _101

Oooo thank you Dross honestly seeing others way of working does help because you see some habits that maybe others can pick up or see how you process things and that good stuff I hope this made sense lol

GrayFox2k7

It‘s so interesting to get a small insight into what your work in progress looks like. In understand nothing as I‘m not artistic at all, but I love it anyway! :3

Ernesto

I love how it starts with sketches and even with stuff that eventually changes like hand poses and nipple sizes, then color gets added and shadows and in the end everything looks so HD, so detailed, so good

ZERG_Ultralisk

I would KILL for a physical copy once its all complete

Mae Zealad

Yessss I love seeing artists work!

Szwagier758

Oh~ some WIP's. Its not a bad idea to include them, maybe you could link those in the "original" post after the comic part. Or just like you did here, make a separate post for it.

SinfulChrono

I think it's awesome to show us this "behind the scenes" stuff.

GamerGaming

I love this, its good to understand how you plan out your story art drafts for comics.

Zeo

Hell yeah WIP post are amazing to see!

Dross

The shadows are EVERYTHING lol. They always make such a big difference.

I'm sure a bunch of us would love to see more WIP screenshots and such. I know I do.

Shannon St. Claire

ALL THE INTEREST. After years of not drawing much I'm trying to force myself to get back to it but because WIPs don't look like finished products, I'm forever frustrated. Seeing sketches and WIPs from artists I admire means everything. Please post these more.

Zero514

I LOVE process drawings. The evolution from sketch to finished work is a beautiful thing to see.

Rigext Zomb

I like process drawings 👍👍👍

GrayFox2k7

Totally unrelated: love your avatar picture x3

Unkqwn

I love seeing the creative process people go through

Clyde

Even in rough sketches, your bois look hot.

Mr.Kilroy

Your skill is phenomenal! Whether as sketches or fully colored illustrations, you bring these characters & environments to life with all the lewdness you want to convey! 👍🏽🤌🏽👏🏽

Torikino

It's actually really interesting! I appreciate seeing stuff like this because I hope to get better at digital art and you've been such an inspiration with that! Do you think you'd ever post more like rough drafts of works you're doing? WIPS I guess they're called 😅

Kurty Boi

Always nice seeing behind the scenes on these things. Seeing the artist's thought process in their work

Glass River

I really love the sketch faces ❤️😁

Dirt McGirt

I used to review comics for a living and I gotta say, you do absolutely incredible work. I can see the dedication you put into every single panel.

Torchlight Cinema

this was dope, it’s like a window into your head. You should make another one for some of your more complex pieces

Dross

I've thought about it but I like the final piece to be the first thing people see. WIPS kinda ruin the surprise I feel. Cropped WIPS would be okay though.

bones_bones

Im so happy you posted some of these because I've been interested in the process ^^ should do more of these!

Torikino

I get that, yeah it would kinda take the whole surprise away from the posts in a way lol so that's totally up to you! I'm just always blown away and impressed with your art 😁 ❤️

ash appreciator

As someone working on their own art this is so cool!! Thank you for sharing it's so interesting to see other artists' process and how they think things thru

DaRoachDoggjr

I was literally just looking at the cintiq pen and screen selection., wondering if I should take the plunge and have a go at art or animation. When I saw this post, I felt inspired. Thank you, this might have just butterfly effected me into a new life.

Harry_Hirsch

and the steps before that? :O

Connie

I love behind-the-scenes stuff! Seeing the page come together is really interesting. Thanks for sharing! 💖 I'm really curious about that close-up panel; is it a general placeholder for 'draw dialogue/face close-up here later, after dialogue has been decided and positioned', or was it the original interaction that was planned before being changed to a flirty close-up?

Dross

It was the original interaction, the dialog was going to be different, but when I changed it the close up shot worked better.

Dross

I use a Cintiq too, they can be pricey but well worth it. I'm happy I could inspire you, and good luck 🙏

c_t

I absolutely love sketches and process stuff. Not only because it's cool but it also helps people to learn some techniques they might not have known about from their favorite artists. Hell I learned to render skin in a way I was finally happy with by trying to imitate the way you do it haha. So yeah, would love to see this stuff every now and then or however often you want. 👍

Pervy Polar Bear

Theres a joke that's been around for ages, saying NSFW artists only draw with one hand. As a NSFW artist myself, that is comedically untrue. That being said, how much trial and error do you usually go through before being happy with a final result? What you do is not easy.

Dross

I'm getting better at being able to do comic pages in one shot, without having to redraw major parts of it, but it sometimes still happens. That's probably because I'm so used to drawing both these characters at this point. Also in general I find myself having to abandon drawings less and less. A couple years ago I would often spend all day on a drawing that I ended up scrapping, I feel I can identify if a drawing is working early in the process better now, so I don't waste as much time.

Meek

This is a tiny bit off topic, but since it's a post showcasing your process, given how long you've been doing art now I'm curious if there's ever been a point where you finally thought you were "good" as an artist? Or reached a moment where you saw the reaction/ability to produce your art notably shift? Like at what point did it feel like, "I can draw this character in my sleep" or "I can always make this specific thing look good".

Yaoi_Lover_420K

Your comics turn me and my partner on so much , love your stuff
