Duffy the Nar Slayer

I’m a younger brother with an older sister and we rib each other all the time, in front of people we know and strangers. None of it is about her being a ho or being promiscuous, because she is not. Even if she was, I still wouldn’t disrespect her like that. In my opinion a comment like that is too below the belt and not my style. Any comments or jokes are about superficial stuff never anything personal. It seems to be a normal thing among siblings. I’ve been in the presence of other siblings who do the exact same thing, and it always amuses me and makes me laugh because it always seems in good fun and reminds me of my relationship with my siblings. If I were in Bobby’s shoes I would have just stayed out of it. Regardless of what’s being said, its siblings being siblings, it’s not my place to interfere unless my significant other genuinely gets offended or expresses a line has been crossed. I also feel the same way about actual arguments and conflict. If two people in my family are arguing with each other, I stay out of it, I don’t run towards it, or feel the need to throw my opinion in, they can work it out themselves. I hate drama and arguing with people and avoid it like the plague. I’m not afraid of standing up for myself or calling other people out on their bullshit, but I only do that when necessary or I’m forced into a situation where I have to. On the other hand, if I were in Tony’s shoes, I would have acquiesced, respected Bobby’s boundaries and watched what I say, even if I was just joking or didn’t agree. I’ve actually been in an almost similar situation where I was at a friend’s house and made a small rib at their sister, everyone else laughed except the sister who was offended by the joke. I immediately apologized to the sister, explained that I was just joking and that it had not been my intent to offend or disrespect her, and that I would be careful not to do it again. That was that: she accepted my apologies, there were no hard feelings, and she even gave me a large piece of ice cream cheesecake afterwards as a peace offering. Because like Eric stated though I may have an ego I am not an ego maniac
