Eleven’s hour is over now the clock is striking twelve’s

Anonymous

Ah, finally we're at the best Doctor. Can't wait for the upcoming kino.

A P

I can’t wait for you to see the chemistry between 12 and Clara! It’s different than this chemistry, but I like it even better

Anonymous

We all change...when you think about it...we’re all different people all our lives...and that’s ok that’s good! You’ve got to keep moving so long as you remember who you used to be. 😭😭😭

MrSkarred

This is pretty much where Doctor Who stopped for me, couldn't stand capaldi, not his fault, terrible writing mainly, at least until towards the end. None the less a lot of people seemed to like him so hopefully you guys will.

AdDifferent

Think they’re going to enjoy Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. Obviously, there’s a few bumps in the road, but that happens with every series.

Jake Beaumont

Calvin’s right the truth field was made by the timelords on the other side of the crack

Liam Kershaw-Calvert

Meet my favourite Doctor! Can’t wait for your reactions to 12! Take a deep breath :)

Anonymous

No The Five(ish) Doctor's Reboot then?

Anonymous

Handles's death was the saddest in Doctor Who, he was one of the Doctor's longest running companion. 300 years he was with the Doctor, the only other living thing that's been with him longer in the TARDIS

James

In preparation for this I've rewatched Capaldi's run and I've got to say I enjoyed it more the second time round. Still don't like Bill though

James
>>22064043

Honestly wish we got more of him even of it was just him on the TARDIS

Fizzy

I think Peter Capaldi is a great actor, but I never really connected with his doctor. He had a great character arc and the War speech is iconic, but I just wasn’t emotionally invested in him. I think it’s because of the writing and partially because of his companions. Anyway, Matt Smith’s regeneration destroyed me ;( I was so sad.

Robert Trainer

Would love a reaction to Malcolm Tucker IS Doctor Who...all the f-bombs.

Anonymous
>>22063835

You may have then missed out on some of the best stories in NuWho. Heaven Sent, World Enough and Time, The Doctor Falls, and Twice Upon a Time are easily some of the best written, directed and acted episodes of Doctor Who. His first season is fairly mediocre though. Agreed.

Scribbles

Poor Matt. Spending his last episode as the Doctor shooting regeneration energy out of his hands to kill Daleks like the Doctor is now some really weird, fleshy, grey-haired version of Iron Man. At least the Master had the excuse that he was literally broken by the explosion.

o

10:24 you were not going to watch 11...hahahaha. The 11th Doctor is and always will be "My Doctor"". I am so excited for where you are right now: "I can't wait for you to watch Capaldi Run"....

Scribbles
>>22064715

On the other hand...here comes Peter! Whatever I think of individual episodes, I have to say I find him to be one of the better actors among the Doctors. Him and Tennant.

Doby Greg

Really don't like the episode. It is lackluster in so many ways. But godamnit that regeneration is great. Best of new who for me.

Hilding

FL was out of sync like crazy this time. I don't have a place to watch doctor who ''leagally'' in sweden and the blu ray versions have worked great for me. Hope you change it back or I can get Dr who at some point here. I was really exicted to see your FL reactions to this too.

Anonymous

Capaldi is the best Doctor. 🎸🕶🍐

Anonymous

anyone no what version i can watch to keep this in sync on full length

Anonymous

Now we’re in the Capaldi era, I can’t wait until Heaven Sent.

Anonymous

I think Eric is going to enjoy the many eyebrow references that are about to come. Really excited for Capaldi, it's true that Clara and 11's chemistry is great but she really comes into her own with 12 in my book.

Anonymous

I’ve got to say, on my rewatch of all new Who, Capaldi might have become my favourite. Some of the stories aren’t as good as the previous iterations, but his acting and style is above the others in my opinion. All shown in maybe the best Doctor Who episode ever, Heaven Sent.

Anonymous

Next episode: The Doctor of the Doctor

Daniel Gallacher

Glad you all liked this episode. :) The Eleventh Doctor's regeneration scene is always really sad no matter how many times I see it. Looking forward to your reactions to the Twelfth Doctor. Also in the same year Peter Capaldi went from playing a W.H.O doctor in World War Z to The Doctor in Doctor Who.

Anonymous

one thing that I thought was good coming back was the song from the rings of Akhaten. I remember hearing it and thinking, "yep, this is what the doctor will regenerate to".

Anonymous
>>22065399

Totally agree! Peter is my favorite Doctor and mainly just because of him and his performance. Some of his episodes are not great, that is just sad true, but man... he was always able to make even the worst episode enjoyable! I love every Doctor, but for me, he is just on another level.

Brandon Hughes

I know I’m not the first to say it and won’t be the last, but welcome to my favorite Doctor and my favorite tardis team! Hope y’all love it!

Hilding
>>22065154

Sorry I have the same problem and decided not to watch FL this time wich isn't fun

Anonymous

These next weeks are going to be amazing. I can't wait for you guys to see it all! There are so many great things waiting on the way... starting with M*s*y, basically right next week!

Ashley Jamieson
>>22065059

You could take the free trial of amazon prime then just cancel it after you watch the episode.

Ashley Jamieson

"Especially this close to the tower..." Pretty sure the Time Lords were broadcasting both the question and the field.

Paul Richardson

Both blu-ray and this sync up very well with Netflix UK, but terribly with bbc iplayer.

Ashley Jamieson

I feel like they should watch one of Capaldi's swearing compilations. They reference Tucker a few times in the next season if I'm remembering it right.

Michael Harrop

What a turnaround Matt Smith was for Shane Haha. From wanting to quit the show after End of Time to Eleven being his favourite Doctor!

Opti_Frog

Sniffle. My Doctor is gone. I love 12 also, tho. The framerate was fine for me, but i'm not sure it's possible to get it right for everyone because i think it has to do with PAL vs NTSC. By now, I'm used to quickly adjusting the video i'm watching using my spacebar.

Ragnarok

The thumbnail in a nutshell. Eric: fuuuuuuuuuuck..... *cries* Shane: DAMMIT! Calvin: My soul....it’s gone.... Aaron: Hehe...the others are sad.

Opti_Frog
>>22065394

Agreed. During S7B, Clara was a pretty lacklustre character for me. She was fun and gorgeous and had good chemistry with Matt Smith, but in S8 she really grew to be one of my favourite companions.

illaxion_gaming .

From this point on the doctor who that is the majority of the time really good will turn into the minority of the time good sometimes ok but mostly mediocre to bad so get ready try to enjoy and wait for a bit it picks up a little bit down the line but I guess strap in it will be interesting.

Thomas Joy

cant wait til next week

Nathan Oneill

Shane 2018 : "I hate him!!!", Shane 2019 : "I HATE HIM!!!!!!!!!!"

Martin Taylor
>>22069069

*spoilers* This is my opinion of course but "deep breath", "into the dalek", "listen", "time heist" , "mummy on the orient express " , "flat line", "dark water/ death in heaven" greatly disagree with your assessment and that's just series 8, but as i say that's just my opinion.

chris z

and it ends.. Doctor Who from here til now, isnt the same. but at least this new Doctor keeps the doctor who feel, history. the very latest Doctor is barely doctor who at all. so was a great ride, form Ecclestone, Tennent, and Matt Smith.

TbcAlex

Best Doctor incoming!

The Doctor

Welcome to my Doctor. I'm in the rare camp of people who loved him immediately, to the extent that I was hoping Matt Smith would regenerate sooner so I got more time with him. (We had to wait 8 months from this episode to the next season)

CrossZ

I really like Twelve. His first series is rough, but has a few solid ones. But he's always good, and really hits his stride in series 9. I think he might be my fav

Joe Entwistle

Twelve has some of the worst series of Doctor Who (nothing close to series 11) but Peter Capaldi consistently gives amazing performances, so he makes up for it

Nick Earl

Mystified at people who always want there to be a golden age in Doctor Who, Yeah Capaldi has some stinkers, but so did fan-favourite Tennant, in fact the opening halves of S3 and S4 are pretty terrible.

Doby Greg

Season is often mentioned as one Aaron didn't mention. I am interested to see if he gets a more positive opinion with a rewatch and a group setting.

G G

Finally, 12 is here. S8 is my favorite. I think only 1 or 2 skippable episodes, but even one of those had a decidedly non-skippable ending (talking about Kill The Moon scene, on of my favorite moments). Hope they're up for much more dramatic, layered, and complex character moments than they are used to! 12/Clara are magic together.

Harvey H

The new way worked perfectly for the full length!

G G

Just rewatched Deep Breath out of excitement and, yep, best season opener and best new Doctor intro for me.

Tone

I really think Shane will never take to this new Doctor, it may honestly be better if he gives up on being part of the reactions at this point.

Dale Denton

The golden era is now upon us.

Anonymous

The new way is out of sinc for me.

Kevin Bartelen

Funny story about Matt Smith's baldness, he shaved his head for a film that didn't get a lot of attention. Amy Pond in this scene is also wearing a wig because she shaved her head for Guardians Of The Galaxy at around this time, so in that scene with both of them they're both bald.

Greg Schuster

What's this "new way" for full length everyone is mentioning? Can't watch this till around 10 tonight, but the old way worked great for me (for everything except Christmas specials now that i think of it...)

Dan Banks

For those with syncing issues, this isn’t on blind waves end, the problem is the available free online recordings are sped up faster than the actual show, but not by an amount that you can use in built playback speed changes to fix, for those that want to watch full length with their own background screen you are most likely gong to have to watch it via Amazon (or Stan in Australia (or Amazon again but I used Stan)

Victoria E (vickster5001)

It’s fun seeing you all enjoy this episode so much, as I admit I really was disappointed when it first aired. I just felt it was a rushed way to try & tie so many strands up & Matt deserved a better end story, although his final scene here is heartbreaking. Personally I like Capaldi. His relationship with Clara is different but lovely & overall I enjoy his run. Looking forward to seeing you watch it!

Coolassdude

Can't wait for you guys to react to Peter Capaldi! He is probably my favorite Doctor!

Anonymous

Full length worked great curious to see your take on Capaldi

Anonymous

David Tennant regeneration, Rory and Amy's death, and this episode always make me cry. My fav Doctor :(

Anonymous

I haven’t rewatched this episode since it aired, too sad. Matt Smith was my doctor, and now I’m crying again 😭

Shadow

there was a theory that peter capaldi was going to be an older version of 11 due to the questions regarding the regeneration count.

Lesbian Carwasher

I can't say I'm a big fan of the new source of episodes as it's out of sync with mine.

Jeanette C

About the truth field - Calvin's right for once. The Doctor did state that the Time Lords were both taking advantage of the cracks to broadcast the message and were also projecting the truth field with it

o
>>22083651

I was just about to write that and now I don't, if I could just add this tid bit to the end of their conversation. Trenzalore was the only place the TimeLords where trying to come through. The other Cracks in time were due to the interference of the "Madam Kovarian" chapter, that made River kill the Doctor at Slencio Lake. Jeanette did the heabvy lifting and I still wrote a thesis.......sorry

Mordirit

It's not a new Doctor officially until Shane screams that he hates him.

Anonymous

Thanks for using a different source for the episode. This is the first Christmas episode that has been in sync for me. I never have any issues with the normal episodes.

Anonymous

The actress who played Clara's Grandmother was in Classic Who episode "Vengeance on Varos"

Gavin Hardiman

Matt Smith was my introduction to Doctor Who. His story arcs and acting as the Doctor is on point. His regeneration is definitely my favorite. I feel his doctor is the best of portraying a sorrowful older doctor in a young mans body, moreso than even Tennant. Too bad he is lost to the enormous love of his predecessor. Definitely one of the most under appreciated Doctors. Can’t wait for Capaldi reaction which I know is going to be amazing. His doctor is one of the definitive doctors along with Baker.

Eugene Lawson

**Not a spoiler** just an FYI Generally when The Doctor comments on something new like kidneys, tardis, apartments followed by "I don't like it.." It's a call back to Patrick Troughton's version of the Doctor. It was his catch phrase "oooh you redecorated.. I don't like it." Much like "fantastic", "allons-y", and "Geronimo"

Fizzy
>>22101144

I also loved how alien and different Matt Smith’s Doctor was. I totally got the sense that he wasn’t a normal human. He had this gravitas to him.

Spiderfrommars

Am I weird for watching full lengths without a screen playback?

Gavin Hardiman
>>22101144

Yeah I agree with you wholeheartedly. Everyone likes to forget all the awesome scenes of Matt Smith and the fact that he could command a room just by lowering his voice and letting his mouth run a marathon. I like this countering other doctors shouting to intimidate. This make sure that when he does yell it is to greater effect.

Sandro Sliske

Oh you'e regenerated, I do like it.

Anonymous

And that my friends, was the last good episode of Doctor Who. :(

The Doctor

Peter Capaldi is the best Christmas present the BBC ever gave me (us)

Chris

“Raggedy man...goodnight”. Gets me every time... :’(
