Thanks for answering my question Joe! You nailed the meat of what I was getting at ;) . I really appreciate your perspective. "People develop an artistic style because of the things that they can't do as much as the things that they can do." Great quote to think about!

this is super true - a huge reason I draw the way I do (lots of simple cartoons and flat colors, with a crunchy brush) is because I'm incredibly impatient and often can't stand spending too much time in one particular drawing haha so I made stylistic choices to help accommodate that.
