Please don't feel bad, it is natural that you wouldn't know and reacted differently. I'm sorry if you felt so much frustration from the comments, but it was really not your fault. I appreciate tho that you took the advice and informed yourself, it's the right way to do it. A virtual hug for you, I felt your emotions, we all felt the same when we watched this video.

There is some footage from the students that died later on due to the sinking of the ship, and seeing those videos they filmed themselves trying to be brave and joke around and stuff, struck me the hardest. For example, one boy jokingly sang the titanic theme and I feel like if I was in that kind of situation where I know the ship I am on is sinking, I would do exactly the same and try to joke and calm myself down. :,( Another student said in one of those videos "I haven't even had a girlfriend yet:(" and "I love you mum and dad" and because those videos from the students that died shortly after exist, it makes it REAL. Because I think usually we as humans are good at pretending when some bad incident occurs that it hasnt actually happened and try to get some distance between that awful thing and your own emotions towards it. But in this case, because of the footage, you feel the horror and frustration and everything and try to put yourself in the victims shoes and also in the mind of the surviving family members. When I first heard about the tragedy, I couldnt stop thinking about it every second for several days, knowing that if I would've been on that ship, I probably would've followed the adults instructions as well and would've joked around to calm myself down and to not be scared. :( There is also a devastating video on youtube, showing all the classrooms from that school and the picture of the deceased students on their usual desk they sat on. In every class there were just like 2 survivors, 98% of the desks had a picture and a flower bouquet on them. I truly don't know how the survivors were able to live on after that, especially since there is something like "survivors guilt", knowing basically all your friends and classmates died, and you didnt...

I'm so sorry that you got mad comments about your reaction to the Spring Day MV:( There was literally no way for you to know what it was about, and I am pretty sure most people had no idea when they watched it the first time. :,)

Random thoughts: --agree that you had no way to know ahead of time about the emotional baggage attached to this video, it just shows that it was truly a blind reaction. This is what happens to everyone who first watches Spring Day, so please don't beat yourself up over it. --For the future, MVs with "BU content" somewhere in their description are the ones that refer to the BU. --Watched a reaction (a partial reaction, because he just couldn't finish the video) by an ex-Navy diver. He thought that maybe the reason that the Coast Guard didn't want to break the portholes was that they feared the loss of the ship's remaining air pockets. If that's so, it's somewhat better than thinking that they were just writing off the remaining potential survivors. --Some of the ship's officers and crew changed into civilian clothes to be rescued, to avoid having it obvious that they were fleeing their responsibilities. However, three of the crew disregarded orders and tried to save passengers, losing their lives in the process. --This started a conversation among some parents about teaching their kids to sometimes disregard orders from authorities and older people, but I'm not sure that the lessons stuck. --One of the ship's owners, the school administrator who organized the trip, and some of the civilian divers who couldn't succeed in rescuing anyone--all committed suicide. --The sinking happened in 2014, so when BTS made their donation they were not financially successful, and that money represented something like a third of their not very large income. --The original song, largely written by RM and Suga, was just a song of loss and mourning for friends. It's thought that Suga had in mind the friend he wrote about in "Dear My Friend", someone caught up in serious drug use (who tried to drag Suga in with him). By the time they came to make the MV, however, it was pretty clearly inspired by the Sewol Ferry. Some of the other explainer videos go more into the symbolism of the MV and are worth watching. --Sorry to be so long with this. Just glad to be a fan of a group that can affect us so deeply with their work.

In the Esquire article The Boundless Optimism of BTS, David Holmes asked the group whether it was about the Sewol Ferry disaster and they answered that it was about a sad event, but it was also about longing. I feel they didn't want to emphasize that the MV is related to Sewol tragedy, and they know everyone knows, no need to mention it and make headlines for that. The song itself was indeed about losing people important to you, and they made the MV as a tribute more or less.

trash. imo BTS original Spring Day explanation from RM is the best. "the leaves are falling, the leaves are falling." video references are good, spinebreaker, onellas and all the seasons, true. thinking original intention was more than missing you asks too much. too large.

So I was checking my notifications and reading replies to my comments, and man, we WARNED you about Spring Day in the reaction to Love Wins All--we were all triggered by the pile of clothes in that video. Now inclined to cut you slightly less slack than formerly. You can make it up to us with a Taki/Taco video.
