I think suga and Jin are the best drivers and the best chefs in bts , also RM is the only member without a driving license he doesn’t know how to drive 😂😂

TaeTaeBear💜

You are right The one saying “everything “ is RM

I agree on a run through of the album. Heads up because there is a story line running through I need U foreshadowing more struggles in Youth here. Still building for the future with this album so have fun! Anyone have thoughts?

This is not the original MV for this song , this MV is mor public friendly and it’s missing the important scenes to complete the story , the original MV is 19+ that’s why there is two MVs . You should watch the original MV even if it’s on your own but to understand what happened in the song you need to watch it .And when bts says i need you girl they are not literally talking about a girl, they’re talking about needing each other or their friends , bts song goes deeper in meaning. 💜💜💜

After I need you the second song that changed their life is blood sweat & tears . Also blood sweat & tears is the first song I heard from bts and I became ARMY 💜💜💜

thinking about how do I sync up to support you HF ALA? your recommendations are perfect for his interests. timing is also good as far as a timeline of growth. Okay. I grew up East Coast USA and Canada so my perspective on the launch of 'Golden' is thorough. Times Square, Today show, Jimmy Fallon LIVE still huge draw. darn. JK has been hitting New York since August 2023 Seven

I grew up in the Arabian Gulf in Kuwait 🇰🇼 specifically, I became army in the early 2019 in my last year of high school, I heard my friends talking about bts and i went home and searched them up and the first song that came up was BS&T and then I watched an introduction about them and I was immediately hooked, Taehyung (V) became my bias since then . After I became an army I made my whole family listen to bts and I made sure that even if they didn’t like to listen to them they still can identify their faces with the names right ( I made 5 of my siblings ARMY but the remaining 3 was a fail mission 😂😂😂). So who’s your bias Lina ? 💜💜💜

Nikkolasa

You have to see the 19+ one ☺️

Julie

You have to watch the (Original ver.) there’s more heavy scenes & to understand the storyline more cause the songs connected.

No judgment! Watch as much run bts as you'd like 😂 also I think it would be nice to go chronological so you can watch their growth 👍

Andredayyy

From what I recall the 4 videos (and others later) that are connected in the BU storyline are I need you (19+), Prologue, Run and Young Forever Epilogue but it has been a while so please correct me if I'm wrong

BTS are VERY deep - they are a thinking person's band. They cover topics not typical in their industry and they speak truth to power and have taken many risks with their career, right from the beginning to do so. They take on subjects not in a rebellious way, but in a revolutionary way - aiming to change culture. They draw inspiration from sources as diverse as religions, philosophy, poetry and literature, multiple cultures, history, politics, socio-economic and societal ills, science, psychological theory, visual arts, etc. The stories they tell are multi-layered, with a surface meaning, a deeper universal meaning, personal stories and sometimes Bangtan Universe (BU) stories as well, all in the same song. The BU is the fictional supernatural mystery running through their albums and slowly revealed in MVs, songs, album notes, short films, webtoons, books and more media. I Need U is the start of the BU, so the hidden meanings in the song and MV are very deep. A Drama series of the Bangtan Universe is also in production now. I really don't like the Rice Squad intro vid you keep referring to, because he makes it sound like their decisions were all commercially motivated and they were aiming to "take on the US and global music industry" and that's just completely untrue. Their style changes were mostly not marketing choices. They reflected their growth as artists and people. They were not seeking to change a target audience or break into a new market. They were just doing their best to grow their art and tell their stories. Bang PD gave them one mandate - to tell their true stories in their art. He is a music industry revolutionary who prizes artistic freedom and the genuine voice of the artists above everything. He mortgaged himself to the eyeballs because he believed in these kids. And the scale of their success was a complete shock to no one more than them. They struggled with it and it almost destroyed them in 2017-2018. They wrote mutliple dark songs exploring this struggle, including Outro: Tear, Black Swan and Interlude: Shadow. They started as a hip hop group not because it was popular, but because they are hip hop to their bones. They are still a hip hop based group and the rappers are the main songwriters and producers in the group. They also did R&B and other styles right from the start, which you will see if you do album reactions. Actually, almost NO ONE ELSE in their industry was doing real hip hop like them and they were rejected by everyone for it. KPop rejected them as misfits and the underground rap industry rejected them as sellouts. They had almost no friends in the music industry and even their old friends abandoned them. The major labels organized hate campaigns and media suppression because BTS' talent intimidated them and they were insulted that a rag-tag group from a broke label dared to compete with their groups and speak truth to power. They are upstarts. Underdogs. They adopted the Crow Tit/Baepsae, a tiny Korean bird, as a sort of mascot because of a Korean idiom using birds to says essentially "don't reach above your station" and instead they embraced the symbol and mention it in multiple songs. It was because of all this they took to social media. Being broke and largely locked out of the music industry, they blogged and vlogged and made their own shows, as no one else in their industry was doing at that time. It caused them to accidentally reach an international audience, though it was not their intention at all. They were just trying to connect with fans, any fans, and be seen. Rice Squad makes it all look calculated in retrospect, but they really were flying by the seat of their pants and making it all up as they went. Big Hit had never trained a group before and had to cobble together their own instructors and methods. For instance, for a year, j-hope, the actual first one signed to Big Hit, stayed in his home city of Gwangju to train in dance on his own, because Big Hit had no dorm yet, no dance instructors and no studio space to practice in. Eventually they rented a moldy, leaky, bug infested apartment for the kids and rented a damp and cramped basement as a dance studio space. Their story really is a miraculous one of luck and serendipity and the right choices at the right times and immense talent and hard work. Not only are they deep and layered lyrically and visually in their MVs and live performances, their choreography is also layered and nuanced performance art storytelling, with moves related to lyrics and song meanings. They even tell stories musically with their song structures. A song about the 7 of them, "Take Two" uses unusual 7th chords throughout. The song "I'm Fine" uses the reverse melody to it's companion song "Save Me" which have opposite meanings. The song "Black Swan," about drowning in their burn out and feeling under pressure uses production that mutes their voices and makes them sound almost underwater, which is also in the lyrics about being stuck on the ocean floor in the dark. The song "Lie" uses a major chord amid the rest of it's minor chords as the musical "lie" that creates a false positive mood in a song about losing yourself to a lie you tell yourself. And so on. They are geniuses. Seriously. BTS is a revolution in the music industry in many ways. I recommend checking out some of the many "BTS Paved the way" or "Trends BTS Started" videos. Boractiy magazine, bby gang mag and xCeleste have good ones. I'm really enjoying your journey. I hope I was able to add some context for you and clear up some misconceptions from that Rice Squad video.
