Hey there guys. I had written an update at the end of January, and it's now March. I figured if I was going to do updates more often than once a book, Monthly was probably a good goal? First, we'll start with some stats. I don't usually track them, but thanks to me saying how much I had written when Book 3 started on Feb 1st, I now have a good data point! I might as well keep it up?

Words released in February: 65k

Words written in February: 75k

So, that means my buffer has grown slightly. I have also begun a second project, but it's a low priority for now. I'll probably let you guys see it once I have at least 20k words or so, to see what you guys think! I mostly just write it when I feel stuck in Bonded Summoner, so do not worry that me playing with ideas is going to somehow subtract from it.

Bonded Summoner Book 3 has taken on some massive changes since last month, when I last wrote this sort-of blog, and so I think I was less efficient trying to tie everything together. I'm sure (among those that bothered to read my ramblings) people probably noticed that the story is already not reflecting things I said in it. That was because typing it out to you guys made me think on it further, realizing that doing things that way was a terrible idea!

This way, I made the war feel more like an uphill struggle for Jake and party, and now Tanda is going to have some influence a lot sooner. Without ruining anything, I will just say that her role is now much bigger in this book, when I had planned her arc for the next one instead. I think this will flow a lot better, both for the beastkin people, as well as possible relationships.

Book 3 is now 160k words, and I think it will max out around 175-180k or so at most. It is quite beefy, so I am thinking of cutting it off sooner rather than later, maybe even doing the aftermath in the next book. I had really hoped to have the book finished by now and be working on book 4, but that changed when I flipped and changed the order of events. Really, I could probably cut off Book 3 to be completed at around Chapter 19 or so, but I'm not sure, as the climax I had planned is for the Alliance HQ recapture.

What do you guys think? Do you like the tone of Book 3 so far? Do you like the progression elements, the character developments, some more than others, and how the Highlands Arc is going in general? How about the Beastkin themselves, are they an interesting people? We still have some major revelations and challenges incoming, and I think they are going to be quite good! I hope everyone enjoys it.

In other news, I do plan on releasing Book 1 of Bonded Summoner to Amazon Kindle Unlimited before the end of March -- I haven't chosen a precise date yet, but I should have pre-order set up soon, and will be able to share it with you. I hope when this happens, you guys can support me by reading the book on there and providing reviews and feedback there, as it would help me significantly. I will also have paperback and perhaps hardcover versions of the books available, so those that are super-fans and want some kind of physical copy for your libraries will be able to order it.

Once again, thank you all for your support. I will continue striving to improve, and produce quality content for you guys.

I am enjoying the current arc a lot, saving the Highlands being an uphill challenge feels appropriate for how close they were to losing when Jake and family arrived. The new characters have all been fun to meet so far, especially Tanda, her performance during the festival was great.

Thanks for the feedback! I hope everyone does like Tanda. Both her personality, and her progression elements (which you'll see more of soon!). I think I made the beastkin's powerset pretty interesting/cool/fun, but we'll see!

Thanks for the update! Regarding moving the aftermath/loot into the next book, I would be cautious in doing so, as reading those things is one of the big joys in these kinds of stories, that clear representation of progress being made. Wishing you the best all in all though! Excited for more!

I'll certainly keep that in mind. That might be why finishing the book on the smaller climax could be a little better. Then I can inject a few POV's and stuff and feel good about the aftermath not making the book over 200k somehow, lol. I'll play around with it. This only matters for the kindle release.
