iOS store + Patreon app shenanigans. (Patreon)

Hey everyone, this only affects you if you use the app on the iOS store. Avoid signing up to NEW memberships on iOS to avoid price increases.

I STRONGLY recommend you subscribe through the mobile android app or desktop devices.

Patreon isn't willing to fight for us here and seems to be hiding behind creators to tell patrons of this, at least I, as a patron, have never received notice of these changes.

Yeah it’s pretty bad. I solved the problem on my own end by just uninstalling the Patreon app. Works pretty well?

ios does this for other subscription apps too. they either eat the loss from keeping prices the same across apps, or take the loss by refusing to work with the biggest distributor (apple). either way i suspect their contract prevents them from outright telling apple users "subscribe on desktop/android"
