When it comes to Boruto, the manga and anime have different continuities. So, if someone suggests you skip the anime-only arcs, you'll be very confused because many characters are introduced in those arcs, and you'll have no idea who they are. Also, many characters that are prominent in the manga now were first introduced in the anime. The Boruto manga is monthly instead of weekly like Naruto was, so it doesn't have time to flesh out the characters, and ESPECIALLY, the side-characters. So, watch every anime-only arc so you'll meet and come to like (or dislike depending) the characters, and learn more about the era of Boruto.

I think yall will fw the manga canon of Boruto. There's a few solid anime canon arcs, some that ties into manga canon, some that don't, but the rest of it is pretty much enter at your own risk. Manga is popping off right now so the future is bright! Consistently in the top 5 read mangas monthly against weekly mangas.

The anime canon essentials are probably this: 1-15 120-136 157-175 Everything else is variable quality of skippable filler that you can come back to anytime imo. Some good, some not so much but more often better than original Naruto filler. You might get a extremely rare reference in the canon to a unimportant filler episode or miss out on a Chunin promotion for someone but its perfectly fine

i have to admit i stopped watch naruto after the snake guy i think that was season 2 or 3 and i have not looked back

Agreed. I just don't want Baris and Madison to skip dozens and dozens of episodes based on what "canon" episodes is. Like I said, Boruto is going through a Dragon Ball Super situation, where the anime and manga might have the same "plot", but the continuities and how the story develops are entirely different.
