Whats a long running or very popular property that you think would translate well as a comic? (An example would be star wars, which already is done in comics)

How long after a comic book is released is is it ok to be fast and loose with spoilers? I recently read the 25th anniversary edition of knightfall and really enjoyed it, so I ordered knightquest, knights end, prodigal and troika. It was hard to find Prodigal in stock anywhere but I finally found a variant cover for purchase. When I took it out of the packaging I saw right on the cover it says in big letters “Dick Grayson becomes Batman!”. I know this comic is 25 years old and I had heard Dick had taken up the mantle at some point, but I didn’t know it would happen in this saga. It was frustrating to know the plot five books ahead of where I was. Do new readers have any expectation of spoiler free comic enjoyment? Would love to hear your thoughts. -Alex, aka cash money in the bank.
