Another tech demo with Amy... (Patreon)

Hello my friends,

to shorten the wait for 0.2.0 beta, I have another tech demo for you.

It's about using ultra high resolution (4K) images in the ingame animation player.This might be really heavy on GPU memory, so to get a better feeling if it will pose problems for some of you, please try the demo.

I would appreciate it if you could give a short reply to this post if it worked for you or not.

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the many replies!It's working for everyone from the looks of it. I'm very happy with that and will add the animation(s) with the 4K images to the game.I don't need any additional verifications, but feel free to post a comment :)

Worked without problem for me. Running on Windows 10 Intel NUC7i7BNH CPU with 32 GB RAM and Intel Irix Plus Graphics 650 GPU.

worked. GTX 1050 OC 2Go. The demo took up to 52% of GPU memory.

I was skeptical as to whether it would work as I've had memory errors on this machine in other areas (particularly beach posing scenes). This is an old laptop running Windows 10 with 8GB shared ram and Intel HD Graphics integrated Video ... It ran fine (I was amazed!!!)

Thank you. It takes about 1.4 GB on my system. About 700MB before it starts. So the animation takes about 700MB too.

Of course. It's a nice touch that, when you speed up or slow down the animation, Amy has a comment.

Oldish HP ProBook, W10 with 4GB of mem and Intel HD graphics 4600. But it ran just fine. GPU memory used about 50 percent of 2GB.

Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00Ghz/32GB RAM/GeForce GTX 1080 Worked just fine. Took about 17% of GPU at start of animation.

As someone who plays this amazing game with one eye on the Windows Task Manager with "renpy.free_memory()" queued up in the console, this demo worked fine. REALLY looking forward to version 0.2.0

My laptop was top of the range in 2015, with GTX 970M graphics card and 3GB video memory. Works fine for the demo as far as I can tell.

Thanks. It's a 20 frame animation. It looks okay if you don't go below 10fps - after that, you're right.

QA note: If you click on a resolution and then click on full screen nothing happens. You have to click on manual and then full screen.

I think high relution (4K) is unnecessary for this type of game. For me it doesn't run smoothly (older workstation). You will probably lose a few supporter.

Did you read some of the other replies? You are the first one who gave negative feedback. I'm sorry that it doesn't run well on your PC, but time doesn't stand still and most PCs even 5 or 6 year old ones can deal with 4K images without any problems. On the other hand, the 1280x720 resolution just isn't up to current standards any more.
