The famous PlayStation logo was create by Manabu Sakamoto. The design idea needed to feel modern and let people understand the 3D power for the machine.. he try many different kind of logo before decide the final one that everyone knows well today.

I would have laughed so hard if they use that Sega-looking PS logo.

He did a great job. Everyone in gaming recognizes the logo.

With it being the 30 year anniversary, it is sort of interesting to see what could’ve been. I’m not saying a whole console could have failed on a bad logo, but it’s funny to think that we could be celebrating the anniversary with one of these different logos. I do think everyone is very happy with the one they chose even though there are like two or three that they are the exact same except with different colors.

My favorite is the "?S" logo. It captures the element of mystery and excitment of video games.

It could’ve been. There are definitely ones on this list that I’m very glad we didn’t get but I always have been fascinated with alternate universe stuff and it’s just fun to think about.
