Gaming Historica/Retro Art Gallery/Download | Lionex | Unreleased Sunsoft Famicom Game (1987) (Patreon)

Did you know?

In 1987 Sunsoft had prepared the action game called Lionex, and was ready to release it for Nintendo's Vs.System (Nintendo's arcade machine system that had the same hardware as the Famicom/NES). They even created a hand bill advertisement for it, which you can see here and download in high resolution!

It is not clear  why Lionex was never released for the Vs. System. It also did not even come out for Famicom/NES or  any other console. In Sunsoft's text adventure game Dead Zone, that came out the same year (1986) for the Famicom, there is an evil computer in the game called Lionex!

Interesting right?

However there is one Lionex protoype that is owned in Japan and some video was captured of this. So the game was finished The owner still has no plan to release the ROM for emulation. Please see the sister post for video, coming soon!
