New Patreon price - how it's going to work (Patreon)

This post is for people who are currently paying $5 or more per month, but specifically those of you who are paying less than $8.

From January 1, I'm going to be increasing the price of membership from $5 to $8. For those people currently donating at the old price, you can stay on that rate with all the same benefits as long as you want to keep it up.

For most of the benefits it's simple enough to do this - Patreon allows me to increase my price but only apply it to new members, so anyone on the current $5 tier can access ad-free podcasts, the Discord and the data repository.

It's a bit more complicated for accessing the Tally Room paywalled election guides. When you first access the paywall you connect your Patreon account to a Tally Room website account. For those of you who've done that (about 80% of those paying $5-8), I have gone through one-by-one and given you access to the new, higher paywall.

EDIT: It sounds like if you go to a page with an $8 paywall and aren't already logged in and click through, it'll try to upgrade you to $8. So the paywall will work best if you are already logged in to Patreon, or your Tally Room website account.
