New election guide, and unlocking the federal guide (Patreon)

Hello to everyone who helps support the Tally Room.

I appreciate the support of everyone to help build the Tally Room into a bigger thing. 2025 is turning out to be a big one, with a federal election coming soon down the pipeline. Tomorrow I'm publishing my second podcast about the federal election, my sixth in total for 2025, with at least seven more episodes planned before the election wraps up.

Thanks to support from Patreon donors I've been able to take more time during my work to work on the website, and that is allowing me to think more about what I want to do in the second half of 2025. Right now my plans involve publishing guides for the next Victoria and NSW elections, significantly expanding my collection of results data and possibly some history podcasts.

I know a lot of you likely signed up to access the federal election guide paywall. I wanted to let you know I've decided to take down the paywall from today, as I have done with past election guide paywalls. I want to ensure as many people as possible can use this information as we reach the pointy end of the campaign.

That's not the only privilege you get as a Tally Room member, either by paying $8 or month or being an existing $5 donor from 2024 or earlier. I really encourage people to sign up for the Discord, which is now my favourite place on the internet to chat about politics and elections. You can also access my election results data and ad-free podcasts.

But I'm not going to leave you without any exclusive election guides! So from today you can also read my guide to the 2026 South Australian state election. This election is the next major election due in Australia following the federal election. The guide features profiles of all 47 House of Assembly contests as well as the Legislative Council.
