Federal election guide complete (Patreon)

Hi all,

Thanks to everyone who continues to support The Tally Room with a particular thanks to everyone who has signed up recently.

I have just finished the final stages of the guide to the next federal election: specifically the House guides for the 54 Victorian and Western Australian seats, as well as the Senate races.

They are available for everyone who donates $5 or more per month, but I've released 11 out of the 159 guides for free for everyone.

I'll have a blog post up on the website tomorrow morning, but the whole guide is up now if you want to take a look.

I'm going to take a little bit of time off now, but my next projects will be starting work on my guide to the 2022 South Australian state election and work on the upcoming NSW local government elections. I have a list of over a dozen blog posts I want to write on the council elections and I'm hoping to interview a bunch of local journalists about some of the most populous local government elections on the podcast. But that all depends on how the pandemic progresses in New South Wales - in particular when my kid can return to daycare.

How can i get data of electorate?

Hi Zahra, if you are referring to the election guide, you can access the guides from the website as long as you are also logged into Patreon. For example, the federal election guide can be accessed here: https://www.tallyroom.com.au/aus2022

Hi Charlotte, thanks for signing up! Sometimes it takes a bit of time before a new Patreon can access the guides. I just cleared the caches, can you access them now?

It is an ongoing problem and intermittent. I am trying to view the New South Wales election guide. But can't find it here! So frustrating indeed. Btw I noted the filter for the Month field is hardwired for certain months. The New South Wales election guide was just recently published, this month of July 2022, but that is not in the filter. Why would the publisher do that is beyond understanding. So truly frustrating.

I’m finding the seat details for NSW very difficult to access, in spite of being a Patreon subscriber. I didn’t have the problem with federal content last year (prior to unlocking). How do I stay logged in to Tally Room, or how does Tally Room recognise my status? I keep getting messages on a page that content is only available to Patreo subscribers …

Hi Jordan, this problem is not that unusual but usually resolves itself after a short time period. I think it's probably to do with the caching. I think you need to click 'connect with Patreon' but if that doesn't work you might just need to come back tonight. If you're still having problems please get in touch and I have some things I can try.
