The 'Big' Three

damn, i like nejire in most fics but mirio can get fucked

Alice

Thank you for the chapter, really liked the part with Mei basically figuring out the sweet home thing Denki has just by examining the gauntlets

Mr Mouse

Oof, that shit was fucked; Triple dose of physical pain, martial humbling, and social shaming, not to mention the possible organ damage, and the out the gate betrayal of the social contract with Nejire scouting ahead in what should have been a protected space. Can't wait for the fallout from this both in the immediate aftermath and ongoing with the Big 3's future interactions Thanks for the chapter

daniel koval

Now that was a good chapter, I really hope you do a double update as I really want to see the fallout of this and see how Aiwza handle this. You have shown him to be a very good character before and I hope you continue to.

Shadeymankey

Yeah aizawa I don’t think this was too wise. You JUST started rebuilding trust with these kids after failing and getting a lot of them killed. Letting this happen IN CLASS was just…insanity. I really hope to have a look at what the hell was up with this because it seems INSANE for him to risk the trust they are rebuilding with this clusterfuck.

Dragonhulk

Mai is freaking awesome and I can't wait for her to make a baby that lets her find the dimensional apartment. Looking forward to more abuse of the evil Tintin.

Lillow Lynx

Loved Mei as always. Also the show of how even teg company’s conceptual bullshit can be bypassed by a bit of creativity… and super genius but that’s neither here or there. On the big three… it’s an interesting take, I don’t see how we got from cannon to here so I’m really curious on how Leecifer got this read.

Michael Friede

That was….different. Usually Mirio isn’t like that, and neither is Nejire. Wtf happened?

Uthalem

my prediction is the big three do nothing to apologize and the teachers technically do something but it ultimately amounts to nothing leaving it up to themselves to get it into the skulls of the big 3 idiots that what they did was wrong but only teaching them they won’t be bullied

Dragonhulk

The fight itself is mostly how it went in the comics, and we all know about Leecifer loving to grant Golden Requests by now. Combine that with Miro's quirk not working the way he trained it to work so he was on the receiving end, and Nejire reacting emotionally. The big one is probably because Miro thinks MC has One for All, and the MC has killed, tarnishing it in his eyes.

Edits Recover Girl - Recovery (x2) ‘This is that it’s like -> what it's like lightning-fast punched, but a watched -> punches, but I watched heteromorphic so harder -> heteromorphic and so she as pissed -> was

Ironwolfej

Well. That was... certainly a thing. Good chapter as always. I'm just curious to see/hear both Aizawa's reasoning, and what led you to this take. Although, it reminds me of my initial response to hearing about the whole thing with 1-A versus Mirio in canon: that's kinda messed up, bro.

PublicLee Speaking

Mirio is, in fact, exactly like that in canon, it's fanon that softens him. All that changed was the framing, aa the constant glazing by Amajiki and Aizawa was removed, and two of his targets could fight back.

Michael Friede

For Mirio, I guess when adjusted to inflict actual damage instead of T-rated shouen punches….yeah. Its the hatred part that’s throwing me off. Is it related to Nighteye’s bullshit?

PublicLee Speaking

My dude, Mirio's 'fuck you I'm better than you because I should be able to hurt you but you can't touch me' move backfired, and dude's a bully who beat the shit out of a class of freshman because he's pissed they didn't laugh at his joke instead of giving the talk about Work Studies like he was supposed to. That's just a normal reaction.

Michael Friede

I…totally forgot that was his actual reason. Its been forever since i watched or read MHA at all. Blegh. Okay, carry on

PublicLee Speaking

To be fair, the show bends over BACKWARDS to glaze him as hard as possible, because it needs him to be great to martyr him by removing his Quirk.

Tony Martin

Just double checking this is intentional. >nine-hundred kilometers away, or five hundred and sixty miles, in… about half an hour. Speed of sound is 767 mph, or ~380 in half an hour. Ignoring the material science for the train and tracks since I think we could handle that now, does MHA world really have inertia compensators refined and cheap enough to support mass transit?

PublicLee Speaking

Yes. It's a hyper tech society pretending to be late 20th century. The conclusion has giant flying fortresses, reconfigurable arenas, and more, thrown together seemingly on the fly.

Apeljohn

That's MHA: a bunch of fucked-up cutscenes duct-taped together with MAX VOLUME HEROISM. It's like if Tarantino script-wrote for shounen anime. And the worst part is that I'm never entirely sure to what extent it's deliberate or accidental. As always, Lee does a great job of lampshading the bullshit that canon laughs off.

Apeljohn

Random thought looking at Denki's heart demon, or whatever is producing the slightly sociopathic straw-coloured text. In Embers!AtlA, a lot of Firebenders have dragon ancestry. When he talks about "burn[ing] whoever disturbed this moment alive" it kinda makes me wonder if he accidentally picked up a bit of Dragon Heritage here - would explain a few things.

GAMB42

We are technically approaching what should be the overhaul/Eri arc. I am honestly curious if they are even going to show up. Then again, I am also very curious what is even going to happen next with the "big 3" properly humbled here. I will admit both this chapter and then going to see precisely what canon was like got me to once again be happy I never really turned into a fan for this particular series. The way they treat what amounts to high-level bullying always turns me off. From Bakugo's everything to Mirio's sheer mindset toxicity, the way they go about it just turns the characters away from what I expect for Heroic individuals. Finally, I assume the different coloured text is going to be related to his bending powers affecting his mindset somewhat.

MegrisVernin

In slight fairness to Mirio, there's a Charles atlas level of durability that most serious Quirk Users tend to develop in my impression, and especially pro heroes and while class 1-A isn't at that level, I did get the impression there's a certain level of force you can use on them in setting that you couldn't in our world because it would flatten them. Avatar the Last airbender also has that going on too. (People hit with boulders in setting would just be crushed and die, rather than be knocked down and winded). So him hitting them hard like this probably did some injuries but might not be, need recovery girl immediate hospitalization or die level of organ damage. It doesn't change that Lee is right that he's punching down on the class, and he's showing off in a way. But the level of force he's using and him doing organ damage (at least the kind that needs external healing or hospitalization) is off in my book. But to be fair MHA is a setting where ideas are presented and not done wholistically, take All for One's organization. So my argument could be interpreted as 'it's not so serious' merely going off shounen vibes'. When a deep dive on how durable heroes actually are in setting if lee's done that, I'll defer to it. Not like I've read through all of MHA recently. I sort am fine with the interpretation for Nejire. Anxiety elf sasuke was a funny interpretation but fits.

El Lando

He's had yellow text for a very long time, since around when he got one for all maybe? I distinctly remember him having it during the info gathering/monoma fuckassery during the camp arc, so no later then that. The purple text is probably the blessing of the storm spirit interacting with his lightning manipulation, since he can normally only produce purple lightning when meditating on pure joy.
